Imagine you are micro SnG player and your BR allowed you to buy just one software actually,

There's enough free tools to crush the micros. No need for either HEM or SnGWiz up to 6.50$.

yes, you can crush the micros without buying wiz or HEM.
but,
i would buy HEM first (good to track progress + use stats on players)
you can use ICM trainers like the one here at ps.com then buy wiz later 
I would say poker tracker 3 or HEM 1st just to make tracking your results much easier.
Stats just confuse me at the mo, I leave em off until I've got the basics of a profitable game as second nature.
It also keeps things in perspective, I keep a running spreadsheet to track my live results as well (currently trying to figure out how I can add these to PT3), but PT3 showed me I'm actuallly a losing player at SNG's at the mo 
but Im really trying to focus on changing that.
I don't think you need any tool to beat the micros, but if you want to invest money, then my tip would be the SNG Wizard, because it helps you to improve your game, while HEM just helps you to keep track of it.
i would get HEM first than sngwizard,
also sngwizard got longer free trial
i got poker tracker tho instead of HEM.
Just quietly, but i think i got a cracked version of SnGWiz somewhere..... Mine keeps telling me I have 30 days left on my trial and i've been using it for about 4 months...
