so as you can see, things are going alright. Ive just had a mini revelation in that ive been overcomplicating my strategy a bit. and so, ive toned down my 3betting a bit, which I was doing originally without enough reads imo, and the adjustment got me into nice +EV spots with top set vs 2 LAGs etc, so Im happy :).

Chinese lessons are going nicely also :f_cool:, Ive got a lesson tomorrow night (19th) , aswell as an Irish class to teach in the morning, so Im going to go to bed, or they wont have a teacher :] har har .

had some witbier for the first time today. my god thats some strange stuff. those crazy belgians can keep their weird beer!

id rather have a warsteiner personally :)

I also wouldn't argue with a Sapporo from korea if I could find one!

anyway, real life hath kicked in. hoping to play 1-2k hands tomorrow, which is a lot for me, depending on how motivated I am ( ive been 4 tabling since im on IPN)

since BRM is such an issue for me (I'm impatient); I figure I should write a goal out BRM wise, so ive come up with:

mini goal: $80 4NL winnings before I take a stab at 10NL (in progress)

played for a while today, but the tables seem tag infested. ive found that the tables become way fishy on boss at around 1.20am for some reason, so im gonna sit back and wait on that before i start my big session of the day.

in other news i busted close to the money in a satellite which woulda got me a seat for a tourney worth 160 euros. ofc I lose the flip that matters most and bust 75th with 50 getting a seat. the worst part was it was a tease since I hit my straight vs a set on turn, only for the river to pair and give him the boat.

nice waste of time :(
I think I played it pretty much perfectly though. not bad for a field of 2,000 entrants _cool:

il wait until my sessions is over before I post my cash graph methinks :).

Hi,
great blog w/ great food stuff!! i am quite a noob to HU SNG, just switched from 6 max CG, but what rly opened up my eyes was Moshman's Heads-up book... rly an awesome book...well, i think u can even get it on the net if u know where to look for it...
if u are looking for good HU SNG introductory stuff, i can suggest a couple of vids

haha, any tips on the blogging would be nice, im new to this

maybe this will wet your appetite :f_biggrin:

as for poker, im taking the ocassional stab at 10NL when the tables are at their softest, and also playing a bit of HUSNGs, althought not many. just watched a few HUSNG videos, and my ev line for HUSNGs has begun to start climbing instead of falling :).

observations of today:

dealing with stations HU:

-fold all your junk with kickers lower than 9's OOP

-call hands with a kicker of 9 or better OOP if its for less than 5-7% of your stack depending on his postflop behaviour.

- these guys dunno how to react to preflop 3bets. so ive been 3betting ( to around 3.5x their original open) with hands like A9s and K9s vs their btn opens if they are opening wide or too big often with hands that are just too weak.

merged my bankrolls today, and moved it all to full tilt. [roll is @ $160 now]

ive decided that cash games has just distracted me from my bigger goal, and so its on the back burner for now.

as such Ive spent time playing some HUSNGs and also posting hands and reading some nice theory articles and stuff over on two plus two

to aid my quest, Ive decided to found a HUSNG skype conversation/group.

just add me if your interested and il invite you to the convo. if your on my friendlist , all u have to do is tell me :).

il post some graphs later.

so far:

doing great at the $2.15s

not played many $6.25's but I think I need a bit more work before moving up to it properly, so Im gonna wait a few days and then make another attempt when I feel ive improved sufficiently.

overall I think ive made huge progress over the past two days _cool:

decided I wanted to take a stab at a HUMTT ( HU multitable shootout) tonight, and noticed the $4k GTD $26 HU was on, so I decided to play one satellite and see how it goes, and lo and behold, I take it down ( 4 man step 3 shootout).

this means I qualified for $8, which is nice :)

hoping to do well, as payouts are nice and beefy.

starts in 5 hrs time after this post :)

best of luck with that, will be on at skype, lmk how u do

edit: bubbled in the MTT mentioned above lost all in with TT vs AJs or summat, i forgot. regardless it was a flip, so im happy with my performance.

quick update.

this week me and ihufa agreed on a deal, and as such hes giving me coaching and staked me $100 to play HUSNGS. in return hes getting 50% of my profit over 500 sngs.

He isnt expecting much, but im doing my best to study the format, and have gotten into some nice discussions with other HUSNG players about related theory and mathematics, which is very useful when you want to minimize mistakes.

Im going to post more soon , but im pretty ill atm, so havent be playing volume by any stretch of the imagination.

below is what ive played so far:

(note the downswing; that was when i moved up to $5s, as that was the stake I agreed I would start on with ihufa) the upswing is after some heavy study and some good luck . the blue line is rakeback, which is pretty required since HUSNG rake is 10% on ongame.Im expecting most of my profit to come from rakeback!

yeah that is the current priority. watched a nice video where a husng coach played with his hole cards hidden. was nice to see, and really highlighted some spots where I was too afraid to play the player and not my cards.

getting better and better tho :)
