yea, love him,

thx for linking to the newer one, TT. ted.com is just such a gr8 page. alw watching vids from it ~30mins/day.. makes life brighter.

..ehm, and esp now: i made 4 fullstack+ bluffs in abt 10mins and 0/4 worked. believe me i know again how it is to feel like total spewtard *hit and question my own game. then i had to relieve some pain by checking my monthly graph and see i am +14k from 21k hands. bad news: just ev, 11k under ev, thats just sth pretty standard i guess, i am pretty sure i am strongly attacking 50k under ev for last 4months combined, but just am afraid to even check coz honestly i do respect such money already.. why me, why!? :f_cry: anyway, my mistake, i am just playing too little so variance is quite big.. i rly need to be playing at least 50k hands every single month, that's what i preach for my students as well, its hilarious that i myself havent pulled out 50k hand month for quite some time. I always just feel like when i play more than 4h nonstop that i am slipping to uncontrollable robotic style that makes it at most 8hr i can possibly play / day, but yea, the thing is, i ve been taking way too many days off when feeling tired from sport / didnt feel in proper mood to play, just need to make it more of a routine with scheduled times for playing i guess.. i am working on it and trying out my scheduler with to-do lists, we ll see how that goes.

i ll just coach, analyse today/tomoro whole day and play some MTTs, just rly try to play like 50mtts.. the time has come, i feel i have to get lucky for some sick payoff. will just play up to 100$ bi tho. the absolute max i want to invest is 5k.. just read in Andrew Robls blog that he is 500k down on MTTs lifetime :f_eek: and with Arem winning the LoC main phase i am rly not that motivated as i was before but anyway have to push myself to playing coz just need to get ready for some live ones.

@miljon: do what u like, go for it.. but even me as a RL fish have to acknowledge that in ur very situation its quite diffult to interrupt and play for profession. U have not much of a proof u can rly start earning decently and if u fail, the way back to uni will be veeery hard. esp if u take more than 1year off- believe me, i ve tried it. Last few weeks i ve even started to have thoughts i ll never ever study again. It's kinda lame to not have even Bc in today's times, but the the appreciation of education is getting severely inflated also, so i presume, unless i make some PhD from a better know uni, there is just very little point jobwise to be wasting so much time in school. I can imagine doing so many other things.. y, so i d prolly stay being in ur shoes and fight it out. i think poker on highstakes is already very tough and it wont make much change if u d want to progress there now or in 2years. And the games up to sth like NL400 will be soft prolly forever.

MTTs are pretty cool, and yes, sometimes the bad player wins, isnt that the same in in every poker format?
Guess Im triing to pull out some kind of motivation from my hat to see how would you do on mtts but I had a terrible session yesterday, so I dont think Im going to succeed.
Must tell you that you will need much bigger stamina if you want to play mtts, last much longer than 4hrs.the "real game" starts at the top 27, and to reach that you have to play 5hrs min. take that into consideration aswell :)

drunk relevations

just got back from one of the most fancy clubs in Plovdiv/Bulgaria. because of loads of rl issue and my general massive rl downswing i am already for 2 weeks in BG

imo this country is the most sick place you can be if you want to have tons of unbelievable stories to talk about. the nighti life, girls, service and everything that comes when u can splash around pink european notes is just undescribable...

when it come sto poker i almost havent played this month (20k hands) :( i feel like a total degen because i spent the last 2 weeks drinking and enjoying life with my friends and ex gf every single day to the max but lets call this trip my vacation. i've came here to fix some issues and ive done nothing .. fml. monday im flying back to BA and i am really looking to go back to my focused and motivated poker pro life and of course to see again the sicko TLN. missa ya mate

ill gather all the photos from my friends to try remember everything and make a detailed trip report but i dont promise everything
.

im in my hater mode and ther e are several topics iant to discuss and hear your opinion

- WTF to tell ppl when they ask me what i do for living. Poker Pro is so disgustingly unaccepted profession in my mother country its even frustrating for me. not as i care what ppl think about me but i saw at my gf face the inner pressure she felt when i admited this in front of some of her friends and i felt sad. she supports me but this is the not question....

- a young stupid girl (around 18) tried to insult me for defying myself as a "poker pro"... how delusional i am ... poker is all about luck and all the standard ignorant phrases. i tried to explain her few concepts but after i failed and probably because i was little bit drunk i insulted her utterly comparing my lifestyle and income with hers... even though i dont think this was the optimal exit of the situation i dont feel bad about my behaviour... so what do u do with ignorant ppl? just leave the conversation?

- i will NO longer be tolerant with live mtt players and generally live players. i had a discussion with a live mtt player and i got so annoyed with his ignorance of my skill as online player (u use so many additional software and all of your huds, this is no longer poker but a game of who is using the better programs) that i wanted to punch him in the face and then jump with my feet on his skull.

lets face it, as online player i can play 1mil+ hands in a year and if i am up 4-5-6 figures u can be sure im a winning player, right?

and how the !@#$ a life toyrnament player can be definitely viewed as a winning player? its hard to do the math for live mtt players except that we know its times smaller volume than online mtt players so ill do it for the second.

super mega mtt grinder can play aproximately 40 mtts a day. lets say he plays 6/7 and 50/52 in the year so 40x6x50 = 12k tournaments yearly for the super mega grinder

if this grinder is so hot like he walks on the surface of the sun and even jesus wants to run like him he will probably cash in 15% of mtts and FT 6%. probably the following argument will fail but imo the hands that REALLY matter are the FT hands. with average 80hands/hour and FT stage finishing in average 2h the simple math is 12kx6%x80x2 = 115.2k hands significant sample size for a year.

ok this is the sample size for a online super mega grinder. if we divide this by 10 (dunno why i chose this number it just felt right) an live mtt no lifer will have a sample size of 15k hands in a year...

moral of the story.... "one time baby @ rl tournaments"

i dont say live mtt players suck at poker, just they are luckboxes

sorry live players, u fail

discussssss

sometimes im arrogant and not tolerant at all and feel the need to insult ppl and i think this is one of this moments but my friend john daniels made me do it

alot of (but not all) live tourney poker players r luckboxes. Thats y many of the FT "pros" grind >nl100. Common u r a freakin pros gettin paid $35 a hour with 100% rb and u cant even beat nl100/200.
Tell people u r a poker pro and who cares what they say, u make more than them and enjoy life more.

I know the feeling ,living in Romania it's kind of the same shit here too. But i try to see the upside, it's a cool test to see how smart and how open to new are the people around you ,because it's sooo easy to be ignorant and just say "poker is a game of luck" and stupid stuff like that. Anyway i think you shouldn't care so much about people's opinion in general , just make some moneyz and live the good life ..haters will always hate .

You will be the one laughing last. They look down on you for being a poker player, but they are the ones wasting their lives working on something they don't like, for someone they hate, and getting a shitty paycheck in return.

You do what you love passionately for a living, get tons of money doing it, and have more freedom than everyone else could ever hope for.

Next time, I'd try to make fun of the person, instead of antagonizing them.

Why not let them believe you're a gambler? At one point in their lives they are going to realize they are complete idiots for assuming that you call yourself a poker pro without knowing what they're talking about. You are obviously an inteligent person, and the fact that they are questioning that part of you just shows how much of a brain lack they have. And when that time comes, you'll be kickin' it in the caribbean, and they will be working for some bastard who couldn't care less.

Chill out, you have it figured out :f_cool:

hey ivan,
everytime i play a live tourney/cash, i snigger at their horrid skill level (and the way they think they are frickin smart). I'm with you on this lol.

Anyway you need to realise this sometime in your life:
-The world is full of LILFs (low intelligence life forms)
-They constantly overestimate themselves
-Smart people get rich by exploiting the folly of LILFs
-No need to tell them off, the longer they remain stupid, the more you profit

This applies to poker, to the stock market, and to Life in general. I only realised this in the past year when I was reflecting on my own life and how I can get rich.

I guess I always had an elitist mindset since a long time ago but

So true. Life is full of people not doing their work at least decent and always screw up because of lack of interest, lack of commitment. People just dont want to do the hard [and smart] work.

try living en Mexico ! lol

silent your problem seems to be totally different than you think :)

I don't mean this in a bad way and I don't want to be rude but the situations you described are totally your fault and it's all in your head

There are 2 ways you can aproach this, you are either happy with what you do and don't care what others think, you don't measure your success by the approval of people who do not understand what you are doing.

Or you are unsure about yourself and seek recognition, you need others to admire you, to say to you how good you are and that the workpath you have chosen is good. This second option is mostly about ego, low selfconfidence and for sure can't lead to a happy state of mind.

It's time to grow up and trust yourself. Do not judge yourself by the looks you get from others. You will live a much happier life.

and pleas don't do this :):

this is so childish and it's exactly the attitude that just gets you down more. Why would you want to make fun and laugh at people who are doing worse than you? You are unhappy with the way they treat you so you are rude/bad in return? C'mon if this is the way you people live you for sure have very miserable lives. Try to be happy and make others happy too.

Just tell them You make decisions for a living, you work at home, analize things which are strongly associated with finances. This way You wont even have to lie and will make other ppls life more easy when it comes to a family dinner or smthin :)

-so what do u do with ignorant ppl? just leave the conversation?

Leaving the conversation is prolly best, but I find myself in a really though spot to do that actually. I had this problem a few times, some friends talked to me like I have a gambling problem and I should quit while I have $.
for them poker = roulette or some other type of gambling.
I tried/try to explain to them its really not. Its about skill>luck ...they just wont listen.
Some ppl are unable to think outside the box, you have to accept that

-about MTT players

This is a really interesting topic. I mean its really hard to judge an mtt players skill level, because the numbers often lie. You can see a winning player with an ok samplesize and say ok he is good, than see him doing unb. stupid things. and you're like what? he could have luckboxed into some mtts and really isnt that skillful. and the opposite of that when the player is down but he is really good. I

Im not even sure what samplesize is enough to decide on an mtt players skill level...

disagreed. It doesn't really work that way. People get supersuspicious if you don't answer them straight up, they'll start questioning a ton more if you try not to answer the question.
