You will be the one laughing last. They look down on you for being a poker player, but they are the ones wasting their lives working on something they don't like, for someone they hate, and getting a shitty paycheck in return.

You do what you love passionately for a living, get tons of money doing it, and have more freedom than everyone else could ever hope for.

Next time, I'd try to make fun of the person, instead of antagonizing them.

this is so childish and it's exactly the attitude that just gets you down more. Why would you want to make fun and laugh at people who are doing worse than you? You are unhappy with the way they treat you so you are rude/bad in return? C'mon if this is the way you people live you for sure have very miserable lives. Try to be happy and make others happy too.

I did not mean that he should laugh at them, or anything like that. What I wanted to say to him was: You know you have it better than them. So why bother with the fact that they look down on you when you have so much more freedom than they could dream of?

When I said make fun of the person I meant to make a joke about them thinking that he chose to play poker with too much gamble on their lives. Not starting an open "yo' mamma's so fat" joke session ;).

Just taking it lightly, and not making too much out of it :f_cool:

w00t for a discussion. MTTs are a totally different game, game of survival, there is no point in comparing it. As a good plr in cgs with killeragro instincts will have a big edge in a HU 100bb+ match online coz of the analytical skills, the good MTT plr will have the same kind of edge in a HU 50bb- live game, where he can even pick up some additional body tells and also is much more likely to be patient to wait for the best PF moves / postflop equity pushes, where he ll have just way more exp with shallower stacks.

The problem with the image of MTT plrs are ppl like Hellmuth or Gold, but i am pretty sure the average modern young MTT pros are a different league (see Elky).

also +1@ u Ivan having some internal battles, when u re trying to persuade strabgers what u re doing is worthy.

October in numbers:

2 news: 1, from now on i ll start posting EV lines as well, so that ppl believe i am not on a heater (~50k under EV for last 4months) 2, i will be posting graphs from now only 1once/2 months -> 1, it destracts me usually (like after i checked my graph i played 1 terribad session already, with purely -ev 2 moves. ; 2, i want to concentrate on putting as much effort on purely theory now and want to be completely out of money aspects since, i want to move to other country and attract good NL1k plrs to come along-hence i have to show i am myself 1 of the best, and also, i am starting to play HU now regularly and the swings will be big- just lost again vs 3outs just now- already 2k under EV or so this month , also: i want to destroy the barrier of "6figures" in poker- i want to be having those for the 2month periods and thats the way to lose any respect for 5figure pots then.. anyway..

i started playing NL400rush when i am rly tired for the fun of it, will prolly play like 10h/month, its interesting, i kinda like it, even though its just 400 i take it completely as a videogame there- all ppl click so quick.. no brain reflex game

positives abt October:

- i played and earned a bit more than in September :)
- i studied and played a bit HU
- except for 2 sessions i played my A/A+ and am happy abt it
- i made abt 25k in last 3 days (last 10k hands)

negatives:

-i played more than 2x less than i wanted
-i studied and played HU less than i wanted
-i analysed abt 3x less than i wanted, some of it has to do with me being at visits of family/friends and no poker plr around -> i rly miss the attitude to go through the hands more than 1h/day coz its so boring alone at times ;(

plan for 2Nov-Dec: play 120k hands combined, wr 100k+ on EV, play A+, improve, improve, improve (have so many weaknesses still- i feel so sad sometimes, most plrs are usually not even trying to exploit me coz many prolly fear me, but on 2k+ the great regs.. thats just sth different..although lately i ve been discovering most of them have many weaknesses as well and i feel confident that baring accidents i should beat this limit in few weeks) make other ppl around me to improve, play more NL2k , play deep vs some excellent plrs , play 3bet/4bet pots vs them, not play so much NL600, and rather 2k/5k by the end of the year to improve quicker, play live MTTs and cgs and ship some pocket money. --> deep play ftw, deffo a future of all my NL poker, have to force it- learn from mistakes maybe sometimes, but just get the exp somehow

payce

I don't mean this in a bad way and I don't want to be rude but the situations you described are totally your fault and it's all in your head

There are 2 ways you can aproach this, you are either happy with what you do and don't care what others think, you don't measure your success by the approval of people who do not understand what you are doing.

Or you are unsure about yourself and seek recognition, you need others to admire you, to say to you how good you are and that the workpath you have chosen is good. This second option is mostly about ego, low selfconfidence and for sure can't lead to a happy state of mind.

It's time to grow up and trust yourself. Do not judge yourself by the looks you get from others. You will live a much happier life.

i talked to a strange woman today for 1 hour!

.. in her mid 20s, she was gorgeous (i havent spoken to such a beautiful women for some months that's for sure- tall, long legs, beautiful smile, dark mesmerizing eys), funny, intelligent, she rly had this aura around here of emanating success, beauty and some more sparkle (she plays home cashgames regularly and had a charmy pearcing in her ear) and she was..

my bank advisor. She herself recognized i am playing poker when wanted to make a bigger withdrawal and we talked even some a bit personal stuff, like childhood, parent, interrupting uni (she did as well) .. life is REAL! :)

besides i am ready now to play the NL2k live, which should be deffo very interesting, and we sport, esp run w Ivan everyday (he usually pukes after 1km tho :P ), i took a walk to the city's castle during midnight.. just awesome! I ve seen such lavish colors of leaves like never in my life before. + i was just so calm and relaxed i just decided to lay among them for a bit and stare to the sky and at the medieval walls of the castle, realizing how small we all are and that rly nothing except for this moment matters..

in this regard i very much like the scene from Peaceful warrior:

rly recommend watching the movie if u re any kind of pro sportsman, and even if not.

Only JJ beats UTG? For 170bb I don't think he has another option

yeah if you think he should fold 88 then you have to fold JJ once he calls because he never has worse :)

Ty for the tip, just watched the movie, awesome imo.
You got any other tips for movies/books/etc in that direction?
You read the book? Thinking about getting it.

Sounded like the most awesome english class ever! Hahaha!

After Bulgaria i came back to BA with a sick motivation for constant improvement and putting insane(for my standards) volume.

The first week of my new personality is over and here are the results.

hours played ~ 70 (nl200 & nl400)
watched around 10 vids
analyzed most of my marked hands during the sessions
played A- game

If i deduct all the stupid mistakes, the "space" lines i tried (TLN characterized them like this ) and the times i leveled myself utterly bad on 400 i could have made 10k i guess. For the month i am aiming at 60k hands and 20k profit but considering I play mostly 4-6 tables rarely up to 7 it will be reallly hard to achieve this.

spaaaaaaaaace hand of the week

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $4(BB) Replayer
Hero ($402)
BB ($404)
UTG ($418)
UTG+1 ($551)
CO ($549)
BTN ($433)

Dealt to Hero T♦ Q♣

fold, fold, CO calls $4, fold, Hero calls $2, BB checks

FLOP ($12) T♠ 5♦ J♠

Hero bets $10, BB calls $10, CO folds

TURN ($32) T♠ 5♦ J♠ 3♣

Hero checks, BB checks

RIVER ($32) T♠ 5♦ J♠ 3♣ T♣

Hero checks, BB bets $24, Hero raises to $70, BB raises to $116, Hero calls $46

Hero shows T♦ Q♣
(Pre 69%, Flop 80.0%, Turn 90.9%)

BB shows 8♦ Q♦
(Pre 31%, Flop 20.0%, Turn 9.1%)

Hero wins $261

Im kinda sad that all of my profit is from nl200 and on nl400 i am breakeven but i couldnt say i run good there at all (i think i won only once in preflop allin in like 5k hands). Nevertheless this gives me even more strength to continue and improve my game!

On a general note i want to recommend everyone the latest series on Deuced Cracked about motivation and peak performance during play - Shuffle and Flow by Travis Steffen. You will hear very wise words there and definitely they will fix a lot of leaks in your live in general which will improve you as a person/poker player.

With TLN we will take a break from poker today - cinema, relax, sports etc but from tomorrow the schedule continues even harder.
