I was referring about postflop play - pretty much the same principles apply: same boards are good for cbet, same cards are good for barreling. I just find it much easier to read people's ranges in FR. Ofc I totally agree with your saying that it will be hard to convert back in to SH if I start playing FR exclusively now, and I also realize that on higher limits FR is pretty much non-existent, so I'm going to study SH exclusively and probably play 2/3 SH to 1/3 FR. With that ratio I expect my SH game to surpass the FR one quite fast, but for now I just feel it.. "easier" (to a lack of better term) to 6table FR than to 4table SH.

Side note - life tilt. This morning during my standard session, once I started changing tables, the software started telling me "unable to join table". I did this a couple of times and was wondering what the fuck was going wrong, eventually I closed my other active tables just to find out that the money isn't coming back to my cashier! That aside, it seems that they took the 10$ buy-ins for the new tables and keeping those as well :O

So as their system kept taking 10$ bundles form me I cashed out my remaining 270$ to prevent it from continuing, so i'm currently missing 130$ from my account. Probably seems like nothing to most of you, but for me it's 1/3 of my br T_T. I wrote two tickets to their support 4hours ago, but have yet to receive replies. Hope it works out, cuz my mentality is currently crushed

Sry for not updating much, last few days were (and still are) supper busy. Right now I'm in the middle of a "combo breaker" @ work - for a period of 27 days I got only 4 days off...

aaanyway , don't think I'm dead or anything - exactly the opposite! Everything got sorted out with BetFair (i got my moniez back) and I keep studying and discussing. Not much time to put volume in, but I still do my best to try and get 2 sessions each day (even tho they are usually short). Didn't manage to do so yesterday though (was super tired in the morning so played a super short 2 table session on nl20 to get used to it) and in the evening had sicko clubbing with friends ^^ And today (well, technically its yesterday now) was too hungover to play T_T

Basically I had 23bi for nl20 and decided to move over with 3bi stop loss and if I drop below 20 (40bi for nl10) I would go back and regrind.

So today after work I finally managed to get a proper nl20 session and... the very 1st hand I played won me a 300bb pot, got it in on the turn with 100% equity vs. 2 ppl ;o

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.20(BB) Replayer
SB ($17.82)
Hero ($20)
UTG ($24.17)
CO ($53.33)
BTN ($29.23)

Dealt to Hero A♥ T♥
fold, CO calls $0.20, fold, SB calls $0.10, Hero raises to $1, CO calls $0.80, SB calls $0.80

FLOP ($3) 9♦ 2♥ 7♥
SB checks, Hero bets $2, CO calls $2, SB raises to $4, Hero calls $2, CO calls $2

TURN ($15) 9♦ 2♥ 7♥ 6♥
SB checks, Hero bets $6, CO raises to $48.33 (AI), SB calls $12.82 (AI), Hero calls $9 (AI)

RIVER ($57.82) 9♦ 2♥ 7♥ 6♥ J♣
SB shows K♣ K♥
(Pre 54%, Flop 49.5%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero shows A♥ T♥
(Pre 27%, Flop 43.4%, Turn 100.0%)

CO shows 8♦ 8♠
(Pre 19%, Flop 7.1%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero wins $56.32

What was CO thinking _confused:

I was actually sweating with a nl50 reg and we were both puzzled weather to call or raise the flop, but in the end I think calling the minrise is better, because CO sticks around with dominated draws and whatnot, he also gives us better odds and is almost 99% calling if we call.

Betting the turn small is what I'm toying around lately, since stack size is so small they still interpret this as a weakness and might spazz (as it happened) and if they call, river shove is so small that they level themselves and call it with all kind of junk hands ^^

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.20(BB) Replayer
Hero ($60.40)
BB ($20.25)
CO ($44.16)
BTN ($27.75)

Dealt to Hero K♣ A♦

CO calls $0.20, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero raises to $2, fold, fold, BTN calls $1.40

FLOP ($4.40) T♥ K♥ 5♥
Hero bets $3, BTN calls $3

TURN ($10.40) T♥ K♥ 5♥ T♦
Hero bets $7, BTN calls $7

RIVER ($24.40) T♥ K♥ 5♥ T♦ 5♦
Hero checks, BTN bets $15.75 (AI), Hero folds

BTN wins $23.18

This was my most difficult hand today. Flop bet is pretty much mendatory in my opinion. I think he very often has good pockets with a heart, can have AQ or AK with A//Q of hearts and doesn't have many made flushes, so I got to protect my hand.

Turn bet is what I am thinking about. Our opponent seems kind of fishy, so even tho I'm thinking about his range to raise btn and call a 3b I'm not sure if I can really put him on a hand. I still feel that I should protect at that point tho, so that's why I plan to bet/fold. River is also super strange. If we bet it we have to call a shove over, but I believe that he's going to c back some random Kx if he defended with such a hand (maybe KJ, KQ?), but we're no longer beating anything but a pure bluff, What do you think about this hand?

Anyway, I didn't look at my bank, but I think I am now officially staked for nl20 ^__^ looking forward to pwning it. So far it seems pretty much as fishy as nl10, but ppl are generally more aggressive, also more ppl 3betting like hell, so I'll have to adjust to that.

Soo peace out ppl, you can start expecting great things from me ^^

**just to mention - it's already close to a month, in which time I didn't look at my graphs, sessions, winnings and whatnot and I feel great about it :)

EDIT: I forgot to mention - 2 days ago I hit my 1st royal flush ever!! Opened CO KQss, bb called, flop came JTAsss. Ofc opponent went c/f but ooh well ^^ mb should've slowplayed it :P

FTP bring it on!

Just transfered my roll there yesterday evening. I must say I <3 rush :f_love: so many fishiz, so ez to put volume.

Yesterday I just played 1h 2tables nl10 to get used to the soft and after that 1h 4 and 3 tables nl25 (sh ofc) and so far I'm pwning it ^__^. Obviously sample is super small, but I feel I'm plaing an even better game there, also coming up with some strategies on my own. I would love to speak with some other rush players, because due to the nature of the game I feel that making new strategies and playstiles of ur own is better than reading theory form authors that most probably are already outdated/not so good/are not TwiceT :P

Stats for 1550 hands:

25.6 vpip
21.6 pfr
7.9 3bet%
2.7 agg

As you probably know, I'm not a big fan of monitoring results and graphs as it makes us result oriented, but decided to give myself a little break - I am going to review my graphs and sessions in BetFair, because I will no longer play there AND it's already been more than a month in which I haven't even peaked at my graphs/winnings

Here I was like 80% sure villain is on AQ, but since this is one of my 1st hands playing rush, I was rly confused by flop c/r. I decided to call it IP since it's so dry. So mostly I think he's on AQ, KT, some 33 and JJ there as well, but against this range we're doing pretty well. Even if we remove KT, and make the range like AQ, 33, JJ, QQ on the flop, we're still ahead (by 1%), and on the turn we're even better, picking 10 clean outs even vs. the hands that pwn us. Also his 1/2 turn bet seemed weak, exactly the kind that TP would make, because it's "scared" to bet more, but since it's nl10 I expect him to have a hard time firing on his own and an easy time catching my "bluffs"

Will update mroe later and will add my september goals, gotta go to work now :P

Okii, sry for not updating much but i'm rly short on time lately. I promise a big update sunday, when I'll take a look at my bankroll :f_love:

So far things are doing great. I signed up for a driving license course and will be starting it the coming Monday, so beware, Vic is getting on wheels
Uni starting after 2 weeks, gotta see how will I manage my time, cuz it seems that going to work and uni will give me no days off ever and I will have to sleep 4 hours two days of the week :/

In poker I'm doing great, I feel I'm pwning nl25 sooo hard (small 20k hands sample tho) and with my new power of being able to fold overpairs when I know they aren't good fishiz don't stand a chance

Milestone reached

Not that I've ever set myself any bankroll goals, but breaking into the 4 diggits sure feels nice. Since I usually dont look at my br or session stats (I easily managed to do so for 1 month, I think monthly or weekly review is good), I believe that this special ocasion allows for an exception (i've seen my br after all, graph will show the same ^^). Here goes

I have played those hands in a matter of 11 days (my deposit was on the 8th of September), and so far I'm feeling well, playing well and ofc running well , also cleaning the bonus quite fast (160/600), but obviously that's not the important thing

I think my mindset is also getting better. To be honest I haven't even noticed the 10bi "downswing" I had at the beginning, that streached for about 4000 hands. Such a thing would have definitely tilted me before, and probably I would have tilted anyway if I was looking at my bankroll after each session.

I must say that I'm quite happy with my game so far and I think that playing not only for the results but for improving is definitely helping a ton (tho having good results doesn't hurt :f_biggrin: )

Life plan

Uni is starting from the 1st of October and I was thinking a whole lot about my job and how will things work out. After all I came to the conclusion that I should move to part time. This will allow me to have some breathing room and will allow me to add at least 30% to my volume. I would still have a solid income to cover my uni taxes and I will just make very small cashouts if needed. If I manage to set aside some money to have a month or two covered, I might quit altogether - tbh for 8:30 hour shift (+1:30h travel time) I make a bit more than 1bi at nl25. I'm pretty damn sure that I can win more @ poker :] but I don't know if I have the mindset for such a big change, so I will leave it for later.

Since I have this "tradition" to end all my long-ish posts with a cool song, here goes:

A few days ago I went out with friends to watch the new Resident Evil and ever since I can't get this song out of my hand

nJoy a music video of it with hot chix ^^

nice video :)
girls in it even nicer

Soo yea, short update - I'm playing some nl50 now. I table select a ton and try to play in position vs fish. So far it's rather swingy, because of hands like this:

SB ($46.25)
BB ($50)
Hero ($65.05)
CO ($54)
BTN ($41.40)

SB shows 8♦ 8♥
(Pre 53%, Flop 34.4%, Turn 22.7%)

Hero shows 9♠ A♠
(Pre 47%, Flop 65.6%, Turn 77.3%)

SB wins $90

and this

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.50(BB) Replayer
SB ($61.60)
BB ($53.40)
UTG ($63.20)
CO ($50.50)
Hero ($68.90)

Dealt to Hero 4♠ K♠

UTG calls $0.50, fold, Hero raises to $1.75, fold, BB calls $1.25, UTG calls $1.25

FLOP ($5.50) 8♠ 7♠ 7♣
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $3, BB folds, UTG calls $3

TURN ($11.50) 8♠ 7♠ 7♣ A♠
UTG checks, Hero bets $7.75, UTG calls $7.75

RIVER ($27) 8♠ 7♠ 7♣ A♠ 9♥
UTG bets $20, Hero calls $20

$64

But I'm not tilting (much) so everything is good ^_^

I still grind nl25 sh rush too, because I still crush it hard and the donks just ship me money. But I mainly work to improve my standard SH game and mainly discuss my nl50 hands with ppl from the study group

thx^^

Sry for not updating much, ever since uni started I barely find time for pretty much anything :(

*Short update from work: last moth was pretty cool, with the bonus and rakeback that I cleared, I made more than 1k$ : )
*I didn't have much time to analyze my own game which sux big time
*I managed to watch quite a few videos, and this is the main source for my current poker education
*had my 1st coaching session with Fongie, he pointed out quite a few interesting concepts that I will try out (thx Fongie! ^^)
*I managed to save some cash and tbh with a bit of help from my parents I'm set till March 2011, so with their "blessing" i'm going to quit my job. The problem is that Sunday-> Monday and Monday->Tuesday I get 3-4h of sleep and adding with the fact that every day I spend 12h+ on the computer (poker at home, computer at work, computer at uni) it's overall effect over my health is pretty bad.

Sooo expect a ton of me next month =)
i'll try to get a proper update soon

cheers

hy man, good to see your development. btw I live in Novi Sad, so I dont think I will mage a trip to BG anytime soon, but enjoy your stay :)

Oh god, it has been quite a while without my updates

I don't have much time for this one either, but i will make it worthwhile.

October was pretty much a big fail. I moved most of my BR over to Cake and tried to clear some bonuses, but obv I had to fail hard, lost about 10bi at nl50 and regrinded a bit on nl20, after bonuses and rakeback I was down 400$ there. Of course the small fragments of time I had I used for rush 25 with my remaining br over at FTP, and as always rush didn't let me down, there I'm up 10bi after rakeback and take2.
In any case, I am not sad or anything for having a loosing month, also I realize that I didn't put in the proper volume neither in studying, nor in playing so I had it coming anyway. Also playing a limit I am not comfortable with on a site I am not comfortable with that has no hud was probably not so good of an idea

BUT, one good thing came out of it. I finally managed to get myself to play some longer sessions. I had some mental block and for some reason I was pretty much not able to concentrate after 1:30h~2h of poker. I simply HAD to take a break or I would start doing stupid things. Guess what? I managed an 8h session with 10 min break and many 5h sessions

So anyway, right now I withdrew the cake money to mb and will completely focus on rush25 right now. My plan is to play 100 000 hands during November.

Oh ye and.. from the 1st of November I am officially "unemployed". I have savings to keep me going during the next two months, so please lady luck, be on my side =)

I will probably post some weekly graphs, just wanted to drop by and let you guys know I am finally getting serious _grin:

hey, man! =)

as I'm currently working on my mindset issues a lot, I'd like to know what articles (biographies) you read, and what inspired you so lot as you wrote in your 1st post.

can you give me some links or who were people you read about as poker pros?

Though I'm SnG player, I like to read others blogs for mindset issues and seeing their opinion on this awesome game.

Nice blogg. ;)

miljon.
