Watch me fight some AI baddies in VR Boxing in my latest post

So I had a 5k monster session today at Stars, playing NL200-1000 SH 6-12 tabling (one table of NL1000 of course). I would say 1/3 came from luck, 1/3 came from skill and 1/3 came from fish/players playing bad vs me. There was this "pokerstars pro" who was REAL BAD. He 3-barreled anytime he had a piece of the board (bottom pair or draw) and I snap call vs him all day with any top pair (though I was usually at the top of my range with AA or TPTK).

This brings my profits for the month to about 15k (+2k for RB). Pretty sweet I must say, cause I have never made this much before in my entire career.

Yesterday I attended an Investment workshop (fundamental level). It cost me 400$ (but I could bring a friend for free). I thought it was ok at first but when I actually think about the content taught, it was the kind of stuff you could learn by reading Benjamin Graham or Warren Buffet books. Many of the financial terms were stuff I would be learning in the future (under Financial Management which is part of my Business Course).

So a little upset I wasted one buyin attending some course, but still I'm glad it got me thinking about my financial future (and my friend did too). I will be studying "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham in the next 2 months. The book is 600 pages long and I will take my time to read the e-book while taking notes.

The concept of value investment seems alluring. Proper study leads to minimised risks and consistent returns.

Anyway the entire Millionaire Investor Program costs 3.5k. It might/might not be good, my friend said it clarified a lot of things for him but I suspect he might be biased for some reason so I think I'm better off doing my own research.

@joenaes: Yeah I'm not too experienced with this and I'm not too familiar with all the financial instruments. Haven't really learnt them at school yet since I'm only in my first semester.

Today I made 2k in 3 hours. Quite nice, given how I got paid off 900 (set over set when I did a double check/raise on T and R after villain checkback on flop and spiked bottom set 222) and 700 (fish jammed JT vs AK on QJT) at NL400 Rush. In the first hand the villain ForMotherRussia had some preflop dynamic on me but I really felt that I would never be bluffing in that spot after I check/raise/call and check/jam more than 200bb. Easy fold for his bottom set.

Made a few spewy plays against that guy though. I had KJ on QXXsXKs and I raise flop and barreled my stack off. He called me down after he spiked the nutflush on the river. I was hoping he would call with AQ and then it would be super nice for my image (not sure if he took note of the fact that I still vbet my KX after the flush hits). I also don't get why he doesn't just jam the flop if he thinks my range is that bluff heavy.

I played 1.5 h of NL1000 today during my lunch break (4 hours of lessons before and after). Started off well after some guy turned his mid pair into a bluff at NL400 rush. Then I managed to join all the tables so I switched to 4-5 tables of NL1000 SH. For some reason, the tables weren't all that tough. I honestly think if I work on my game more I can beat all the mediocre regs. The best reg today was Tim0thee with his >1million record but he was playing kind of tight and seemed to be staying out of everybody's way.

Lost KK vs QQ BB sqz vs UTG, Won AA vs AK in BvB, and donked away $1000 after I squeezed and bet, shove against Yong Suk Chang.

1) Wtf at Yong Suk Chang, spiking the 7 and snap calling it off. There were two ways I felt I misplayed the hand. Firstly I forgot to consider my own image, my 3bet% was 10% cause I was just 3betting a lot and faced minimal resistance (ok a little but I had the nuts everytime they tried to fight back). Secondly I was considering whether to bet maybe 150-200 and shove the river but it might look obvious that I was trying to leave enough stack to bluff him off the hand. I knew Yong Suk Chang rarely has a huge overpair here cause he is really aggro preflop as well.

3) Villain tanked a little longer on the river than the turn which made me hesitate to value bet. I know there's only QJ and QQ but I also somehow felt that there wasn't too much value. He has a very wide 3-bet defend from the blinds.

I think I will play at least 2-3 hours of NL1000 4-5 tabling at least once a week. Hope this improves my game, even if I happen to be -EV (I don't think I am that much worse so it shouldn't be that bad if I remained balanced). Maybe I'll gear switch in my next session...

I also used to crave action a lot which was why I multi-tabled hard. Now when I play 4-5 tables it's really relaxing and poker feels more fun when you have time to sit back and observe what others are doing, taking notes etc.

Finally done with my 1st Postflop video. It took me longer than expected, maybe 2-3 hours last time, another 3 hours today and 1 h for the recording. It's going to be 50 min long. At first I thought it wasn't so good but after recording it, it somehow feels better than my previous preflop part 3 video so hopefully you guys will enjoy it.

Also about the Rush poker videos, maybe I made them a little too hastily so I apologise for the slightly lower-than-usual quality. I'll try the 2 SH rush per video or maybe 3 FR rush + 1 replayer (Giggy style). I somehow think that 2 FR at rush won't give enough spots but maybe that's just me.

I didn't play poker today so I'll wake up in the morning and grind a few hours. Let's make some money

I for one really enjoyed the video and would be really interested in seeing some more rush vids. I was really surprised by how little you 3b/4b light.

Also is your hud always like that? You just have it blank and pop it up when you need it?

3b/4b light = 3b light can be done more certainly, 4b light requires a good read that opponent is 3b-ing light a lot, if not its spew.

hud = i prefer my hud to be less cluttered, allows me to make the simplest of decisions:
-Preflop stats
-Do I cbet the flop?
-Does my opponent cbet the flop a lot?

I refer to the popup for more stuff when the less common situations surface (when it gets to the turn/river)

ok i lost 5k today playing nl400 rush + nl1000 6 tables. was up close to 2k at one point but the cards werent coming my way at all. Also made a few spewy plays which cost me maybe 2.5k? I feel so sad right now... grind for close to 8 hours on a friday and lost so much. Anyway I'm actually breakeven at the NL1k tables, I actually ran really bad there when I lost a 1.4k pot AA vs J9 and the fish spikes his two-pair on the river.

Now I'm down 4k for the month. My aim is to make 5 digits every month so let's hope I can earn some money back on Sunday

today i lost 2k stack at NL1000 when I was 200bb deep. Luckily I'm up 4.5k at FTP overall for today, up close to 1k at Stars playing about 10 tables of NL1k. Weekend seems quite easy so I'll play NL1000 only on weekends. Way more fish at FTP than Stars IMO.

I end up down 1k at stars. damn it, 7k profit at one point in time and half the profit is gone. But nvm I will grind somemore tomorrow. I will sleep early and wake up at 2am for supernova quarterly. I only played in one so far and I believe it's almost like free money since it's so easy to cash and the min payout is 200$.

I went through many of my hands. Now I realised that I have been turning too many made hands into bluffs. In many spots where my opponent cannot have a flush, they still check/call the river vs a big bet. Also made many failed bluffs vs some ppl who always check/call the turn on an Ace when they have an ACe themselves. Too bad i play too many tables when I play FR at NL200/400 and rarely read my notse. If not I will always bluffraise the turn vs those players

stopped at 7pm, ate dinner, watched first half of Nascar's NL400 HU video (very recommended, I liked it as much as nanonoko's videos and urnotindanger2). Then I went for a quick 20min swim, watched the latest episode of HIMYM and slept at 9.20pm.

i woke up at 2am to play the quarterly 1million free roll for supernovas at Stars. Played it like shit, did a stupid bluff cause the opponent played like a donk and hit rivered set. Then I was left with 3000 in 50/100 and lost JJ vs AQ.

After that I fired up mass tables at NL1k (mostly FTP cause the Stars tables didn't really have any fishes), 1-2 tables of NL400 Rush and a couple of NL400 Stars tables. Made some good money so I'm happy with the results.

Went to sleep at 6am but couldnt fall asleep so here I am again. Never played so much in my entire life before (max record of 13 hours in a 24 hour time span).

Decided to fire up a couple of tables at Stars before going out. Ran like shit, played 1 table of NL1k and NL400/PLO200. I got into many nasty spots at PLO and variance is so sick (1k below EV which is very huge considering the fact that it's NL200). As for me losing the flip (AK vs JJ) at NL1k, I am fine with it, after all I coolered/outflipped many regs at FTP.

Let's review some hands cause I think I have been playing pretty decently. Many bad players in general, many good aggro players who keep 3betting me light and spiking.

I think I haven't been running too well all of a sudden. Lost 1k playing 3h of NL200 SH Rush last night before I slept. Then today I woke up at 930am, eager to earn everything back. Ended up playing 10 hours straight because of some deep stack fish at NL1k. Too bad I wasn't on his left. I was up 3k at one point and everything screwed up after I played kind of spewy towards the end, should have been breakeven and not down 700$.

Worst enemy of the day was Sparkie256 who ran like god vs me. And best friend is I Win Flips, some super pro guy who is up 800k at PTR. During my play for a couple of hours with him, my 3bet % was >10% and every single time I 3betted him, it was for value. It led to many nasty spots for him and I kind of ran him over with luck.

1) I Win Flips wasn't too sure where he was at and he had twopair so he just shoved it hoping I call with AQ. I didn't bet the flop cause I don't expect to get 3 streets and I wanted to look like air.

So I'm back to break even for the month again. Up 7k at NL1000, down 4-5k at NL400 and down 2k at Stars.

The AA fold v shove on river is really tight, there are actually almost no 2-pair combo's, only KT could play this way with 2 pair imo, so you must put him exactly on KK, 55 or 77, would probably never fold this bcz there are enough bluffs in his range imo to call 400 to win 900.

Would you fold 22 in this spot?

If he doesn't turn made hands into bluffs, you can't call because there are no hands to bluff with mbmls betsize also looks big enough not to fold to an all in, I don't think it looks like a good bluff opportunity for the opponents side at all even if he were the made-hands-to-bluff type

Could be a 7x or 5x, straightdraw, floated clubs, more than you think I am sure of. The question is will he call the turn with those hands and is he capable of making such moves. And you need playerstatistics or notes for that.

Betsizing is superstandard, so I don't know what you mean?

with a set i will feel sick but still call off my stack, i might also beat random 2pairs. and betsizing isnt standard. if i had a set of 7s for example i would bet bigger to get stacks in

and as fongie said, he's never bluffing because I already committed $600 of my stack in and its suicidal to just jam over the top
