Pre Flop: 3.5bb is fine, altho 4bb is fine there also ;)

Flop: Flatting here does keep alot of his weaker range in the hand, however this board isn't the best board for us from the point of view that there are alot of cards which can either kill our action, or put us in a tough spot. raising on the flop makes it alot easier for us to define villains range, and obv if he's superbad he could stack off here with Qx etc.

Turn: as played, betting here is super standard, but i think i'd like to see a bigger bet. we need to think why we are betting in this spot

-If we are betting to punish him for drawing, a larger bet gives him worse odd's to continue in the hand
-If we are betting for value against hands such as Qx, Jx etc, we can obv get more value by betting more. our line so far in the hand doesn't look super strong, so i dont think he's folding most made hands here, he might even decide to call us with hands such as 88-TT, since our line could easily be a draw that we are deciding to turn into a semi-bluff on the turn.

River: without being results oriented here, river card is pretty much a ding card considering the only hand that got there was KT (which again, a bigger turn bet punishes him for chasing). raising on the river is super standard (altho again, i think i like a larger raise here, assuming thats a raise to 4.2 not a raise of 4.2 on top of his 1.6) and when he min raises river, we have to call him off.
remember that altho KT is obv a fairly large part of his range as played, without any more info on villain keep in mind he could possibly play a set this way, or AQ/AJ...

He clearly has 5♥2♥ :P

@ AlCaTrAzzALZ: very nice and detailed explaination. I thought a while about this hand and I think it's fairly misplayed, although I still don't think it's that much of what some call a setup, because it's just super standard for fish to play their draws that way.. I think, as you said raising flop would be best line, altough I think you have to fold vs a push, cause fish tend to just call their draws rather than raising, so I think if he pushes flop he's very polarised to twopair or sets, so that you can fold... When he calls you have to stack off, cause every draw, Qx and still Jx mb he would play that way (still he can play sets and twopair the same way, but I think his range is big enough so that you can go broke on later streets

hey guys!!
after rulaz abused my account to post some crap hihihi..its me finally :)

what to say.. had a session yesterday and also today and for the first time after 6 days or so im a little bit down. seems thats always happening when i play some nl100 tables. tough im a little bit scared money i wonder if its profitable to play there at the moment or if i give up to much ev by playing to tight. im still concering about a hand yesterday at nl100, where a megafish overpushed the river after the turn was checked through. i instantly thought it has to be a bluff but i only had 2nd pair..after thinking a while i decided to fold but i always knew it was a bad fold. he showed me his busted draw afterwards.. also im not able to semibluff on the flop for 100bb and i often feel i get outplayed.. so i think im staying on nl50 till 10k or sth. which i hopefully got by the end of december!
i would really like to post some hands (like the foldet bluffcatcher -_-) but i have some problems with holdem manager. i will fix it soon !

hi all!

much to tell this time! had a very nice weekend, starting with casino at saturday afternoon playing nl200 with rulaz. the table was quite light and we both were able to make some profit allthough playing tight and i personally can say i still make mistakes caused by being scared money or too nervous. nevertheless i left the casino 2,75 stacks richer , just ready to rock the prom where so many girls in hot dresses where running around!!
also had some online sessions the last days were i run very bad. i lost about 20 stacks in 4 days and its my biggest downswing i had so far. most of them were just suckouts but im still playing worse and often didnt exactly know what to do when being instantly 3 stacks down 5 minutes after starting a new session. im not scary or very tilted i think i just loose my feeling in some situations which is possibly as bad as tilting by anger. also i quickly lose my motivation which is probably my biggest leak at the moment. holdem manager is still not working which is also a bad beat -_-. back to university tomorrow and hoping for some better days,
thats it from my side

hey!

latest update: again 9 stacks down playing 2 hours 9 tabling nl50. would love to post some suckouts just to feel better but hem is still not working. i dont really know what more to say than just incredible. i think i didnt win a single preflop allin allthough frequently having premium hands. if there were holecards for everyone i would call a 2outer against me at the moment. still my physical health is in a very good condition. i wonder if listening to music while playing can cool you down a bit because im actually a little surprised not to be in a fucking bad mood right now. importance of mindset is just overwhelming me now, maybe i should add it to my personal goals to work on this.

good evening!

had some grinding sessions going on today guys and it surprisingly turned out to be a very boring day. especially in the last session i had the feeling nothing is happening and was really tempting to watch tv or something else while playing. after all i was finally able to win about 2 stacks at nl50. aside from that i wasted so much time installing some staff to get my laptop working. due to the fact that im such a computer fish such things are always tilting me when i think i could better grind more. i think i will ask somebody to fix this soon and then be able to play with stats again.

@eismann: yeah i will buy a new computer soon...my laps tilting me hard sometimes as i said -_-

so far..

heyho..

maan, i have to tell you.. poker player really have to have a thick skin... i just get beated every session so hard :(

last session of today i was 4 stacks up a long time but then within 10 mins i lost KK to 88, AA to TT and set 7 vs set 9, and AK tptk vs TT on turn where he has to spike his set on river ofc, so i ended up pretty even. After losing 10 stacks or so at nl50 last days i will now play nl20 again a long time to get my motivation again to the top, although im kinda motivated still because i make so many nice moves to get my losses compensated a bit.

br is melting last days, cant understand anyone whos sayin that 25 buy ins are enough, cause they wont last even a day...

but still im motivated, br not even 1700 but i just have to get more and more volume to get variance balanced

gn8 for now ;)

hey guys!

really frustrating at the moment. im not used to this, playing break even or maybe be a little bit down overall. still - in november ;( i think i play really bad at the moment and if i occasionally make some good moves i get sucked out.. aside from online poker i played some live game nl200 at casino which was really nice. being 3stacks up i left but nevertheless im not so pleasured with my performance because its still hard to play my a-game at nl200 with all those monkeys who are calling every shit down and also tried to bluff me out from time to time allthough they didnt know what they are doing i was folding way to much i think. if i would play like a maniac i think i could make 10 stacks in 5hours or so but im simply too scary. -> primary goal -> play like a maniac @casino. i will be there every week now to work on that

greetings!

Nice blog, gonna read it

Maphack, what exactly do u study? Just a computer Science or do u have some specialization? How are Unis in Austira? Are classes in English only or u have to know German to study there?

@theshade: rulaz is studying informatics not me :) . we play on win2day poker, its a side for austrians only.

about today:

i played about 2k hands today and it feels like things are really changing quickly at the moment. i just read some articles and decided to play only 6 tables instead of 8 to get more focus on certain spots and also played more concentrated in general. it was like a revolution how much more fun i had today and yesterday when i started this. i realized how abc and non-thinking i played the days/weeks before. allthough im about break even today i feel like i can crush nl50 and also played really fearless on nl100 (also some deep tables) the last two days.
another thing which is concering me is my poor mindset. when i say this im not talking about making bad moves by being angry or tilted, rather im talking about lack of motivation. sometimes i just start a session and im not even tired or in a bad mood but nevertheless i dont play my a-game because im too lazy to think about certain situations, but on the other hand i dont want to quit also, because i would watch tv instead and thats more of a waste of time than anything else. i cant understand myself sometimes and i actually dont know how i can work on that.

i also had a super sick hand today.

we had a very aggressive dynamic going on. i had beetween 3betting frequencies of 15-20% on every table after 1k hands overall (its just 5 handed). i cant exactly say why i made the river call... i thought about a long time but then thought he might have also AT or T9 but was really surprised when i saw this... just wanted to show you that hand
just saw that there are no results. he showed me 55!!!

very though situation i think. i donked to keep draws in but at that moment didnt think would to do if he pushes. its a very close fold because he could ship a weaker ace or maybe 78 of spades/clubs . sometimes he has 55,66 but i dont think he would always raise then.
now i would call it. would do you guys think about it?

after some time i finally do an update here..

after running pretty cold (in poker and in rl - was sick some days) i think i finally get into normal mode in terms of hitting and so i managed to get some moniez back and my bankroll is at €2100, so i hope i can get even in quite some time.

i watched some heads up vids while being sick and started today directly (nl10) and managed to win 4 stacks within 30 mins, which was pretty nice :f_love:

after the short headsup session i played a SH session and made some stacks, very nice soulreading spots :f_cool:

heres one of them (would've called any pair here) --> BB 41/23 4.3 AF, 41 WTS

@ THESHade: sry for not answering your question, i missed that

yep im studying computer science with no specialization. When i started to study i went for a mixture between computer science and business studies, but after half a year i came to the conclusion that im not the guy who wants to learn things by heart the whole time, so i preferred the tougher study where you have to use your brain in a more 'trickier' way.
i think unis in austria are not very good in general (except those in vienna mb - can't really judge) , but theres always a good uni for a specific study. That means that you have to know where the study that you wanna approach has the best reputation in austria and you ll be very fine to study there...

I would strongly suggest (at least at my uni) to know german although there are lots of courses held in english, but still imo its not easy to follow courses which are held in german only

good evening!

yesterday i had some nice 7 hours at alphacasino graz. was there from 9pm to 4am and was able to win 5 1/2 stacks with a starting stack of 100bb (would really like to buyin deep for now but its not possible ;( ). i was very focused allthough i had much trash/poker talk with other players around me. i also met a guy which i faced online a few times but he was drunken and only flamed the dealers which was very entertaining. also im quite proud that i have been able lets say to play 99% the way which i think was the best in certain spots. thats the most important thing for me at the moment when playing nl200. and indeed it showed so much more profit than just playing abc. overall i think i just made one big mistake which was against my online college. would really like to explain the hand but i think its really hard to understand it without any knowledge of our history. anyway my performance really helped me to recover my self confindence because things in online poker went really wrong the last time.

online poker:

in november im down about 25 stacks now and what really sux is the fact that i played about 40% less hands than i october, which is a result of lack of motivation. badluck might mindfuck me but honestly i dont feel like having an edge on anyone. regs play better than me and fish tend to suck me out -_-.
i will take some time no to analyze me play a bit and also will watch videos.

good night guys
