Best Stand up comedians – Page 2

Some of you might already know from my fanboi postings, that I am a huge Ricky Gervais fan. Last night I watched his Stand Up program Science on DVD (I actually had tickets for one of his shows in London in Spring, but couldn't go due to sickness :f_cry: ). While I was chuckling along, my girlfriend didn't find it very funny. So we had a debate about the best Stand Up comedians. Here are my nominations. Let the battle begin, this is my top five, who are yours? 5: Chris Rock 4: Dave Chappelle 3: Ricky Gervais 2: Billy Connoly 1: Robin Williams I am very interested in newcomers. So if you found a rising stand up comedy star, please share :)

I am really really surprised nobody mentioned Jim Jeffries. Imo he is top3 of all times and will probably stay there for a very very long time Ain`t even gonna bother to post parts of his shows cuz u have to see the whole thing! Swear to God is his first dvd and Alcoholohaust is his most recent work.

I like Louis CK but I have to say, I was a bit disappointed by the series. Reminds me of Curb Your Enthusiasm with something missing.
Maybe it is just me

i liked this bill hicks guy stand up comedians always have something to say about things that arent true, or they are fake and useless. like religion,politics and all the other bs as we all know:) george carlin is my favourite tho, he was godlike

its definitely something else. i didnt laugh as much over the series as over his live shows. the series has also a depressive touch to it and i see it more as a comedy/drama series, but i still quite like it.
