Small update: have now played 77 tourneys so still 123 to go to reach week target, but I'll get there. I'm beginning to feel better about my play after reviewing this morning (marking hands work great ;D). I still have some flaws post flop about which line to take - I'm playing to weak at times and giving up too much I think.
Push-fold game is improving, but still have trouble giving people an exact range due to bounty. Another thing is fulltilts blind levels, it takes some more work to see how many blinds you have - have had some dump opens from early pos with pockets.

Money wize I was on a 50BI swing before getting second (again - stupid runner runner flush) in a 90 man KO, so now I'm only down around 40BI.
But it's okay, I can just work on my game and mndset. :)

Actually getting coached this sunday by my dad who is a coach and he has agreed to give me coaching - not that he knows any poker stuff - but the basic principles of tilting and stuff he can deal with. So this is very nice.

Going to do a 6 hour session now. I'll update again tomorrow.

Take care.

Hey, if you're using HUD, you can add "Stack Size in Big Blinds" into it :) so you'll know how much bbs you/your opps have ;) I'm not sure if there is such option on PT3, but on HEM it definitely is.

How to: HUD Options -> Player Preferences -> "Stats" tab -> Misc -> Stat "Big Blind" :)

have trouble giving people an exact range

You will almost never be able to do so. And you don't need to. People are calling wayyy too tight in these games. At higher limits you might run into decent regs, who calls with good ranges, but i never saw such on micro/small limits ;) And if you see someone making a crazy call, just make a note on him and push nice hands only into him :)

Thanks for bb tip, will do that, will try tourney M also. I think they are calling better on ftp than stars due to bounties, but in other situations they are just making stupid moves, had guy calling my iso shove with KTo, I'm never isoing that wide. :P

Read your blog, I'm really impressed about your volume. Quick question, why are you still playing 2's when you play the 3r why not also add 12's? You must be rolled for it when you can play the 3r?

Small update, played 30 games today before gf came home and was sad, so had to quit session. But I'll grind tomorrow. :) Still 50ish BI down, but it's okay, one good session and I'll be back on track.

Volume is easier on stars, cause games don't run for so long and there is not table limit :)
I'm on coaching deal, so it's not for me to decide which limits i play :)

Small update: added non-turbo tourneys in my first set today and I'll do so in future sets. The set went good feelt in control and was playing a-game all the way with some nice reads. So had my first win in the new year. ;D Nothing too fancy but shipped a 90 man 3.3$, finished 2nd in a 5$ normal structured - Deep (80bb) hu vs aggro opponent very weird match.
Went deep in some other 90 man and another normal structured game, only to get knocked out as 6th or so in them.
Overall only down with 15BI now so progress is being made. ;D

I have some problems deciding which stats I want on my hud, and would like to hear what you guys use? :)

Another thing, the strategy material for week 1 is done and will be posted on sunday. :)

Take care.

Keep your HUD as simple as you can. VPIP/PFR/3bet/steal is enough imo :) if you need something special, you can always click on it and get full stats.

Right now my hud is like this.
Name hands
Vpip/Pfr/3bet/fold to 3bet
Steal/fol to steal/fold to c-bet/big blinds

I wanna add M somewhere as it's nice to have in late game - but wanna keep bb for pre ante play.

add it in first line :)

mine is:

Name/Hands/Big Blinds
VPIP/PFR/3bet%/Agression factor
Steal/SB Steal/Flat preflop

I'll think abou it and play around with the hud a bit.

<-- Silver again. _cool: So know I can watch phzon's new video :)
I also ended my 50BI swing in my set last night by winning a 6.5$ 90 man, so to wins for this year after 144 games and no profit. So not the best start, but it's okay.
I think I'll reach the weekly goal of 200 tourneys by playing some today and alot sunday.

That's it for now, I'll be back tomorrow with strategy content and weekly review. :)

Take care.

So sunday which means the week almost has past and it's review time for my first week playing in the new year.
It also means strategy content. The content is thoughts of my own mixed with strategy sites advice + forum advice. It's very basic stuff, and it relates to micro stakes. You can take what you can use and throw the rest away, maybe you knew it all already, but some might learn something.
Feel free to comment, and I'm up for discussion - Cause I'm definently ain't playing these perfect.
I'll do week review tonight after session. :)

Strategy content week 1
90 man K.O strategy micro stakes 6.5 and 3.3

Structure.
3000 start chips, 15/30 start lvl, 5 min lvl - but small increasements
The double stack turbo structure is slower than stars and allow for more play in early game with rather deep stacks. This means more set mining, playing suited connectors and suited aces - try to play in position. If you want to take advantage of weak players early on you can open a lot more from HJ, CO and BU with deeper stacks as it allows you to manouvre more - but be carefull not to pull the big all-in bluff gun trigger, cause in these weak fields with a bounty people will call you down light - this also means you can value (over)bet more often. More on this later.

Payout structure.
Top 9 is paid but only top 3 really matters where you get 28.8 BI for 1st (1st in 6.5$ is 144 and we pay 5$ into tourney pool), 17.55 for 2nd and 12.6 for 3rd. Because of top heavy payout structure we need to focus on accumulating chips and going for the win, this means we don't fold our way into the money with a short stack. It means restealing and shoving a lot in late game and take advantage of others fear of bubbling. But we will get back to this in second part.

KO effect, and our adjustments.
We need to adjust, not so much to the fact that there is a bounty involved, but the fact that fishies are over adjusting and going for the bounty with less than mediocre hands. When a shorty is all-in people are iso raising with Ax to get the bounty - Note that if people just calls they could be trapping (regs will do this).
Our shoves will be called more often both pre and post flop. This means you can value overbet shove river and expect people (who have you covered) to try and talk themself into calling cause of the bounty - don't get out of line with overbets, best strategy would still be to get all-in normal value bet style.
Our pre shoves will get called more often by pretty cards (suited connectors and small pockets and random broadway+x and low Ax). This means we can shove more for value than for FE. This means we need to tighten up and lose the buttom of our range – But don't get to tight, cause Ax is often ahead.

Early game strategy.
Tag style playing is allways gonna work cause of the many fishies, but trying a looser approach to take advantage of the fish going broke to light might be even more profitable. Try to loosen up from late position and play more suited connectors and gappers.
Value betting: Cause people will call lighter due to bounty you can make more thin value shoves if they have you covered – reverse applies don't bluff people that have you covered. When value betting you can overbet, but a better strategy is to get the stacks in without so they feel more comitted. Starting with 4x instead of 3x allows you to get the 100bb stacks easier in, and people at micros will call 4x as much as 3x. So 4x the first blind lvl and 3.5x or 3x second lvl, and at 40/80 lvl I'll 2.65x to 212 chips and keep my open raise around 2.5x and late game maybe lower it.
Another thing about bet sizing is iso raising, you can iso bigger than you normal would cause people will call so iso'ing one limp at first lvl (15/30) you can iso to 150 and be almost as succesfull as you would be with 120 iso.
Money makers early on: Set mining, value betting them to death and making correct calls vs big stack pushes/iso shoves (50+bb stacks).
Regs will push something like QQ-99 and AQs+ AQo+ which means we can call with something like TT+ and AK. BUT if it's an unknown/fish the range is something like QQ-55, ATs+, ATo+, KJs+, KQo and some random suited broadways and connectors which means we can call wider and expect to be profitable - something like 88+, AJs+ and AQo+
These ranges are conservative and putting the fishies on a range is very hard and read dependent, but some fishies are much looser - especially when iso shoving.
Also some regs are only shoving TT, JJ and AK which makes them really exploitable, cause you can take these hands out of their normal range when playing against them.

Middle and late stage will follow next week.
Take care guys. ;)

Week 1 review.
So targets for this week was basically getting started on fulltilt with new labtop and Hem and wiz. Which I all made so off to a good start.
I didn't post any hands at all, and didn't review as much as I maybe should have so this I'm going to change in next week.
I didn't play 200 tourneys, but I managed to get in 180 games.
Profit wize no target and there won't ever be on weekly basic, but I made 20$ - maybe more if I cash in my last tourney off the day a 10$ deep. So this isn't a dream start, but at least I'm winning. :)

So targets for next week, I'm only home 4 days.
120 tourneys.
Review an hour a day the 3 days where I'm away.
Finish second part of Micro 90 man KO strategy.
Find a sweat partner for week 3 - Any one up for this?
Post 5 hands for review in forum.

That's it for now.

Take care. :)

Splut7: Glad that you like it. Thanks for sweat session offer, right now I'm looking for someone more experienced to review my game, but later I can for sure take a look at your game. ;D

Short update: Haven't been able to play yet this week.. :( BUT I figured I could bring labtop and monitor on trip so that I can put in some games these next couple of days. And when I come home saturday I'll grind until monday morning or something sick. ;D

Take care.

Yeah, awake at last. ;D

So last night was great, won 2 3.3$ 90 man KO's, and made a 3 way deal for 2030$ in a 10$ early ante 10k guarenteed tourney.
The payout structure for last 3 was 3k for 1st, 1.95k for 2nd and 1.45k for 3rd. 4.7 milion chips in play, chipleader had 2.5, I had 1.3 and 3rd had 0.9 milion - As far as I remember.
Deal was made so chiplead got 2.5k, I got 2k and 3rd got 1.6 - I have never made a deal before so this was new to me, but I had lost a chiplead 20 hands before deal when 4 handed - Really aggro game had 25% 3bet. And one guy lost to times in a row first with KK vs A6s and then to me AA vs TT so was kinda afraid I would get sucked on next. :P
Another thing was that I was really tired and was starting to make mistakes. Also the stacks if heads up would have been akward cause I'm used to push/fold hu.
I regret a bit now that I did deal but I think it's kinda okay. Really don't know. But I'm gonna stop thinking about it and be happy with 2k payday. ;D

Actually think this is my new biggest win, before I think it was 1.6k.

I'm still looking for sweat partners/review partners to review each others games. Would really like a review of this one, and definently gonna post some hands in forum later today when reviewing.

Take care.
