Going back to the topic of star signs (bit late, I know), but apparently they've all recently changed :O Something to do with the earth's alignment adding a 13th one, or something that I can't quite comprehend, so i'd like to retract my previous statement of "Virgo = Godlike", because im not quite sure whether im a Virgo or a Leo nowadays (like I care anyway, just thought i'd point it out if you hadn't heard )

Just the weirdest, shittiest session ever tonight. My red line never looks like this. Wtf is going on!!

Apart from two obvious episodes of total spew, I just kept losing small pots by a whisker, e.g. middle pair with K kicker v middle pair with A kicker, was pretty much card dead, couldn't get anyone to fold at all and no one would pay me off. Just a really strange and slightly dismal evening.

On a happier note, a friend has just lent me the last three days of his DeucesCracked membership. Anyone want to recommend any vids for me?? :f_biggrin:

Looks like I've become Pisces too! One thing though... isn't the zodiac sign according to when you were born? I mean... how can that change during your lifetime? I think zodiac and anything that tries and predict the future on... uhm... nothing... is just plain silly and being changing your sign during lifetime means you should be a completely different person IF there is any truth to this system. I think you see my point...

PS: My point is: WE BE SHAKRS! _biggrin:

I think u got doomswitched for leaving the study group :f_biggrin:.
I'm moving up to NL10SH soon I just promised myself I would endure 10k hands at NL5 first to see if I'm a winning SH player. after 7k hands I'm running at 17bb/100 so when I get up to NL10 maybe we can discuss hands on skype or maybe do a sweat.

anyways, could you update us on the book and the process of actually writing the book? I can imagine it must be a biiig undertaking, but I think you have found an interesting angle with the whole student/teacher dialogue.

It's something to do with the position of the stars relative to the position of the Earth now compared to when the star signs were originally, erm, "discovered".

Once I heard of this, I have to say, my rock solid faith in star signs was shaken a little. That is until I realised what complete bullshit it all is, and then I was okay again.

Sorry about the study group. It's just that my Skype kept telling me I had a new message aaaaaalll the time. I left the SnG study group for the same reason.

Intro to book is almost done. TT is going to write some more stuff over the next few weeks, and our first coaching will be on 31st Jan.

Another Friday, another lump of rakeback, and I'm back at the $250 I started with on 1st Jan. This is me.

I sat down at a table a couple of hours ago and saw you looking at me from the other side of the table. I promptly left, I couldn't be doing with you 3betting me light all day, I might play with you next time.

Hmmm. Did you like my avatar? I'm hoping people will think it's ironic rather than a cry for help.

I'm afraid I have avatars turned off :( I gave you a green tag a while ago though (think it was when I saw you registered in lessthanthree's freeroll, before it was invaded), so when I saw that and who it was I left.

Glad you're reading. And yes, write something. All the conversations in this blog make up for my terminally stunted social life.

After much recent thought, I realized that I've been playing tighter, but that I've also become much more passive postflop. Played tonight, was back to my old aggressive self, was really happy with my play, made a small profit, and only made one mistake.

But what a mistake! You may just about be able to spot it on the graph above. :f_cry:

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

UTG ($25.16)
MP ($10)
Button ($26.01)
SB ($10)
Hero (BB) ($22.71)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K♦, K♥
1 fold, MP bets $0.35, Button calls $0.35, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.45, 1 fold, Button calls $1.10

Flop: ($3.30) 3♣, Q♦, Q♣ (2 players)
Hero bets $2.50, Button calls $2.50

Turn: ($8.30) 8♣ (2 players)

River: ($8.30) 5♠ (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $22.06 (All-In), Hero calls $18.76 (All-In)

Total pot: $45.82 | Rake: $2

Results:
Button had Q♠, Q♥ (four of a kind, Queens).
Hero had K♦, K♥ (two pair, Kings and Queens).
Outcome: Button won $43.82

Obvious river bluff! PWNED! :f_mad:

And tomorrow, I have to spend the day finishing marking my exam. This has gone the way it usually does. I mark one question, and think 'Hopeless', and then when I've finished, I revise my opinion to 'Mostly Hopeless'. (Thanks to Douglas Adams for the previous sentence. In my final year at University, I lived in his old room. How about that! :f_grin: )

Bugger, bugger, bugger! Felt good for a while, then went into spew mode. I think I was too tired to play for 2 hours tonight. My daughter is ill, and trundled into our bed at about 2 am last night. She proceeded to cough, push mrsjb out of bed and hog all of the duvet. She's up there now, waiting to do it all over again. :f_cry:

I think I got overconfident after the following sequence of hands against the same Villain. I had to feel sorry for the poor bloke.
