Pokerwise, I have a pretty big problem at the moment, namely motivation. I find it really hard to focus and play a session, and I think one big reason for this is that I can't find the flow anymore.
There's nothing like playing 4 hours every day for me now, then you really have good flow and feel comfortable with every decision and you play well. But now that I really can't (or dont want to) play more than maybe 1 hour a day it becomes even less because it's hard to sit down without feeling the flow.
Sometimes I've thought that trying something new, like PLO, would help. But it really doesn't, because to really get into a new game and learn as much as possible you also need flow - and a hunger for information. Basically, you need to play and study just this one thing a loooot, and that I can't do either.
Do any of you parttime players have any tips for me? How do I motivate myself to atleast play that one hour a day? I feel like I still enjoy the game but actually I get a little bored playing in silence, or with music. I might be getting so used to coaching or recording videos while playing that I can't focus well without talking all the time while playing
I appreciate any replies to this attempt to revive the blog a little, and help me get back into things

Why wouldn't you talk while playing? If that's what makes you concentrate better... At least I chat with myself, say out loud what I think villain's range is etc. Helps me to focus and stops me from doing anything stupid.

Take a break from poker.
If I'm away from poker a week I am highly motivated to play again.

So, how to start this soon-to-be wall of text..
Two weeks ago something started that's sure to change my life. I'm in the middle of a breakup with my (now former?) girlfriend. No details. But suddenly I find myself living in an apartment that's not mine, where I don't want to live, without anywhere to move and without any real strong ties to anything anymore.
What now

well from what i remember u can beat nl100 SH online. U can make very good money if u decide to just grind as u travel. U could also buy a cheap apartment and grind for like 2 months. Live a degen lifestyle and grind a ton and make enough money so that u can support yourself for the next few months. Then u can travel carefree and enjoy life.
But I'm actually a kind of social person too.. Doesn't it get super lonely to travel to a place you don't know anyone and then just sit at home and grind?
First u would have to tell us what u wanna do ... jsut traveling? living there for a while? Staying there for a month or tw o and then move elsewhere?

U can find a buddy who will do that with u, I am sure theres a lot of people that wanna travel (prob. everyone who plays poker TBH ♦)
Not just travelling. Living there for a while, probably atleast a few months. I guess I sort of just want to decide whenever I want to leave.

Well, IMO u should deffo leave at least for a summer and use it kinda as a trial period
-> Problem w leaving is sorted out
Lets move to where should u go
I believe u would rather go to the Europe (esp. for the trial)
-Spain- nice weather, great social people, language might be the problem though

u could always do what i am doing. I am assuming most of your friends are uni students who probally have summer jobs. U could grind during the day (while they r working), and hang out with them at night or on weekends.
just go around visiting different pokerstrategist in different countries. im sure lots of them will host u in exchange for some free coachings and stuff. u get to meet alot of likeminded ppeeps aswell

And your a good poker player, I'm sure within a few months you can save up $10k and then....well the world really is your oyster, you can spend months with that kind of money in Asia, S America. And the best thing about poker is that you can just play where ever you want and when ever you have time.
As you said your a social person, that means you'll meet people where ever you go.
You could live in Gibraltar without working for PS, there's a huge poker community there, probably just tons of cool ex pats in general and with poker and coaching, you'll definitely make enough money to live. And you can bide your time and decide what you want to do in the future.
