Well there you have it. Had my first losing session at NL100 and it was a biggy.
Down like $400 so 6-8BIs cause I mainly play the 20-50 tbls.
Will have a look at the session later. Gonna go buy some stuff and eat food to relax haha
It's been some time and if my blog patterns tell you anything you should know that I ain't having a great time atm playing poker.
NL100 wasn't to nice to me after a good start and even after crushing NL50 It's causing me some problem too.
I'm just not focusing, not handling the $$$ swings and mentally I can't handle it.
Just standard mind-set and discipline factors.
I'm in talks atm to an individual to do some coaching longterm deal which I think should work out very well.
Before I start, hopefully you guys/girls will read this because it's going to be a biggy.
As you know I haven't posted in here for awhile, there are a few reasons:
- Laziness
- I get bored easily
- I find it painful to find content for it
- It hasn't given me any real benefit
- I feel I should be playing or studying then spewing my mind
BUT, I know I should be because it has a bunch of benefit:
- It's like a diary and you can keep track but I have a hard time managing it all so I can keep track, so pretty much it's just a bunch of posts that get lost after page and page
- People can read about your background and help
- People might find you interesting and give you an ego boost
- Puts you into a workflow
Thins have been pretty hectic in my life lately. I have a lot of hobbies and my work schedule is extremely busy work schedule which is hard to maintain sometimes because of my poor time management.
Let me give you an idea into what I do:
- Poker OBVSLY
- Bodyboard which takes up 2-6hours of my day depending on how good the waves are and where I have to travel. Also, if It's a long day I'm usually to tired and buggered to continue doing other things effectively, usually just want to lay back and sleep and if I do decide to do something, like poker (because I feel I have to play xx amount of hands a day because of SN I start losing and puts me into a bad mood then affecting next point...
- Poker Tournament Directing, absolutely love my job but it gets trying sometimes because I'm not only a Poker Host, but I'm also a bartender, psychologist, security guard, entertainer and it's mentally drainer so then it goes back to affecting my game
- Bowling, isn't to much a problem but I kind of just do it whenever I feel. I've bought a $160 ball + accessories and feel like I have to get good (I'm pretty competitive)
- Gym, I've started 2 weeks ago. Mainly strength training but this will help with health but will also aid me in becoming stronger for bodyboard which is my real passion. But as you know, gym is very draining on the body. In saying this it has made me tired during the night so I'm actually sleeping mostly when I get home from Poker Hosting.
- And last but not least, of course here at PS.com as your most favored Super Mod, well maybe behind Bart hehe. So sometimes I feel I'm not as efficient as I could be because of all the other points I have made.
Now as you can tell all my jobs/hobbies affect each other in one way or another. This is why I struggle and need to get some kind of steady flow of life and trying to include social behavior in all of this.
So, why don't I get a coach? Good point. But this is also very hard because of finding a person that can fit around me and vice versa. Maybe I just think everything is to hard and aren't mentally motivated enough to do all these and just being a little sissy girl but I think it can be done.
Also, RE: coaching, I feel like I can just get all information from PS.com but I'm more of an interactive/watch person and not much of a reader. Probably a big leak in my school days.
Well now I have explained my messed up schedule I'll tell you results.

Pretty depressing really in my eyes. So many hands, so much time and what do I have to show for it, a winrate of 1.31 and about $threefiddy, well less but u get the drift. Sure I have profit but it's not because I've crushed, but because of bonus's. The last thing I want from poker is to be some scum of the internet world rakeback whore.
As I said before, I'm extremely competitive and don't want to win the easy way. But again I get bored with study and find it hard to get the motivation to do it. I get random boosts of "OMFG I WANT TO STUDY SO HARD AND GET GOOD" but it lasts like a whole 7hrs.
Not sure what I can get from this post. Maybe it's just a big vent but I need some kind change in learning poker. Don't get me wrong, I've improved immensely, but as you can see my swings are big so my edge isn't that great.
Peace.

Good one sherlock.
Why dont you get a (mental?) coach or something. It works for me as I am pressured to make my homework and improve my game every week

I dont have a mental coach, my own coach just makes me aware I have to work my ass off to succeed
