There are three things u need to utilize when playing against amateurs: valuebet, valuebet and valuebet.

it's not that easy to valuebet when i play every third hand and my usual is to have Ahigh or 4th pair
however they perfectly let me know what they have.. i just dont seem to be able to get them understand me
..just have to figure that out ![]()
btw i must confess i had the abs best table: 2 good agro pros to my right and many weaker plrs to my left who werent attacking me at all. Damn..
shame on me i didnt make more of it. I am kinda dissapointed w some plays i made, but overall i managed to keep my composure very high and i never tilted or slipped into autopilot or uncreative plays, maybe i would have avoided some spots for the future, but then again, i am having fun out there, at least some consolation for the pain the back for 10h sitting in the same place.
out in ~80th place, 27ITM.
had extremely tough table to start with today. Abs everyone was an experienced pro, a lot of agression from everyone, some notable names, some EPT winners, WSOP bracelet owner.. Also 2 other pokerstrategists, Tsubi and Aceontheriver. I played very ok first 3levels or so and got back to share the chiplead w ~110k w 2 other (Tsubi also).
Then i bluffed off 80% of that in a stupid hand where i got a bit unpatient and thought i can apply pressure on 1 other big stack. From then it was again a struggle but after a series of good shoves, and 1 lucky spot, when opponent didnt protect and i 2 outered him, got back to 45k. At this moment table got a lot softer coz at least 2 bigtime amateurs were playing on it, unfortunately both to my left. 300k+ bigstack some FTP bigname was moved to our table directly to my right. Awesome!
.. 2hands later i find AKs on the BU vs him or on CO (w blinds 600/1200/100) and get it in vs his KQo and he 1outers me on R A2QsTsQ
overall i felt tired in the end and would most likely not be able to withstand it till last 27 anyway.. Tho after the expected double up and good positioning on the chipleader i could have gone a lot deeper.
Biggest leak by far: spleshed around too much when was a bigstack. In both days i thrown away my stack advantage within 20mins. + totally bad situationreading w amateurs involved = they NEVER fold! should have reread bronze strategy article on valuebetiing on NL2 vs passive fish and not attempt any thin bluffs..
The prizepool was kinda low, think this is the lowest BI WPT and wouldnt rly be too excited abt anything but ~top5 which i can clearly judge i didnt deserve. Need more exp and also train my endurance a bit more, i think i paid too much attention to hands i was not involved in, which cost me a lot of energy in the end.. in general i feel i have a big edge on the esp pro-mtt abc plrpool and i will attempt to play more big events in the future.
Fabian Quoss is pokerstrategy aswell. I actually checked your table online (fanboy) and saw it was a really sick table but didn't even know all of the names.
Unlucky you busted, will you play WSOP?

Everyone trying to crawl out of the micros, myself included, should read this sentence repeatedly.

a little update:
I haven't been able to concentrate so much on poker coz I ve spent a lot of time socially
coaching
I ve also been coaching a bit more than I would be able to handle in the last few weeks, esp that my personal life circumstances have changed, I was rly surprised tho, that I got more replies from even NL100 plrs. I will be completely honest: I don't think I am the most proper choice for NL100, i don't have enough (close to none except for FR) playing exp w the limit and the agression there is just a lot lower than on higher lims. I rly consider myself a coach mainly for NL200-600. I could coach NL1k too, but I just don't want to give away all my secrets, so unless it's rly an intruguing analysis, which is benefitial for me also, I would set a special price for NL1k+. Since the games are getting thougher and more deep in thinking strategies, I also as a coach have to prepare more for my coachings prior the session. usually 40-60mins now. I still want to keep coaching ~8-10h/week, it keeps me in a good shape and I feel like I am helpful towards society, but the inevitable increase of my prices will come soon, i will think abt the exact shifts, but the change should be starting on 1st of June most likely. I will not increase more than 15%, I want to test out how the demand shifts, but tbh, I want mainly to encourage midstakes plrs on NL200-600 to value my coachings more themselves and make NL100 (or lower) plrs take on sb else first before they improve and we can have deeper talks later. Concerning coachings, it's quite shitty I still don't have a coaching thread in here, on ps, I think this will change when I produce more vids, which are on it's way. I got a lot of positive feedback for the last one in Eng comm, so thx for that, I think if mbml agrees, I can continue on reviewing his vid (he produced more also) and later maybe do a dual w him, I think it could be very interesting since his game is such that he alw ends up in many tricky spots
(not necessarily the best, but deffo very exciting to watch and comment on).
playing
Since I promised to produce 5vids of NL100-1kSH series for Cze/Svk community I tried to get it done. Obv I was not too thrilled abt playing these low stakes, I have never in my life played NL100SH before (after i switched from FR it was directly to NL200SH). I started recording and booom! in 40mins 4tabling i lost 6BIs ♦. Nobody in the world was folding anything, all elaborate moves where my bluffrange is totally nonexistent (or in such a ratio to value that they are doing a superbig -EV calls) got picked off by some weak tp (snapped!) Then i realized: snap! Ofc NL100 are mostly purely moneyorientated students who dont have time to analyse much, therefore are just downright curious after some time and take this game totally personally, why am I trying to make big bluffs on them?
I got determined that I will abs destroy them. I remembered the times when I had 10bb/100+ wrs on both NL200 and 400 and for what I recalled, I mostly just played tight sth like 22/18 (now:26/20), alw just slightly negative nonsd winnings, but why otherwise if they just are all paranoid?! So for 3days (short sessions) I ve played almost solely NL200 to get back the feeling for practical game. In 3rd and 4th session i made 10BI in 3k hands mostly by getting weak regs to steam the hell out of them, but then added too many tabs (12tabling at times) and ended up alw seeing the nuts in big pots where i should have made totally weak exploitable fold, which nobody rly exploits much. So now i think i am ready for decent 4tabling for the videos and even though i got reasonable footage for NL100-400 already, i am a lot better for these lims now after the exp.
Funny thing is, that in the end I rly enjoyed it and I even tried to go for max hourly (the reason for 12tabling). I think there are many good reasons for me to be playing these lims (esp the 200 which i rly got to know a lot-also most of my students play NL200 so i know how very good these ppl think and what are they common leaks) again from time to time.
1, MONIEEEZ!
I have high (i think 300$+ w rb is also achievable if i 9table w a fast table selection, but not quite there) hourly. I need to experiment a bit more and will share stats on it later. Plan is: 6tabling, 9tabling and 12tabling each for at least 20k hands. (Yea, i srsly intend to grind it out to figure! I think I cannot handle 12tabling well enough, 9tabling sofar appeared to be the most optimal) Also, I clear all promos, rbs etc so so quickly, which esp now after the boom of all the offers should not be unnoticed.
2, I get a ton of volume in --> i get into many interesting spots in the meantime which i can mark and later analyse for the purposes of higher lims. On NL1k i cannot play my Agame w more than 6tabs at all. Prolly 5 sofar was proving the best for me, but here, I can not only multitab more, but i dont rly get under pressure = dont get tired much and can grind 10h+ nonstop sessions like during the old good days of FR
3, I force myself to sit down and actually play = confidence grows. We all know this feeling, when u have a lot of personal life to enjoy and playing poker seems like the dumbest waste of time, and I rly think I was being totally ignorant of the above facts and then this one. Ofc playing these games longer will have a detrimental effect on my way to improvement towards nosebleeds, but who knows: after the Black Friday, will there ever be nosebleeds action that soon? It deffo put a big dent into my plans. On this prolly later, in short: i am rly scared and cautious a lot abt what actions to take, withdrew all money from UB already, some from Stars, dont rly know what to do atm.
I don't have more time now, but in short: the plan for the week: grind NL200-400 for max hourly. Totally nihillate the oppostion and post some bragging graphs in the end.. I ll also prolly play some mid live MTT (1k€ BI) in Brno, Czech Rep w also some bigger cg during the weekend. Anyone who wants to meet and have a strategy talk (or maybe a drink if i am busto), look for me there from fri-sun.
GL all.
