hi
I am going to move to Manchester on 2nd April and will stay 2 weeks in Nr. 1 BNB Brooklands Lodge (according to tripadvisorr). I hope that will be enough time to find a nice appartement near Salford Quays (otherwise I have to extend or find a new BNB or hotel). Off Course a casino visit in Salford would be great (do they have omaha games?). I'm thankful for every hint about Manchester and Salford.
my skypename is: homersimpson189 (Austria, Linz)
Salford Grosvenor used to have a lot of omaha, but most of the action has since moved to another manchester casino. There are lots of casinos in the area, so you wont have a problem finding something suitable. ♠_cool:

what's your favorite poker casino in Manchester (surrounded areas like stockport included)?...and also any casino restaurant recommendations?
How is tipping in UK these days? Do you tip? If you do, for what and how much? For example, if order a pizza with home delivery, would you tip the driver?

Hi Anssi,
Tipping is very much voluntary in the UK.
Generally speaking you wouldn't tip a pizza delivery or similar unless they did something outstanding.
It is generally recognised to tip (circa 10%) in restaurants after a sit-down meal if you feel that you received good service.
If the service was poor you can just pay the bill total though.
I also generally tip taxi drivers & car servicing mechanics but it doesn't need to be much, just a couple of quid for a pint is good enough.
Hope this helps,
Bart
Edit: Not sure about casinos etc. Ribbo is probably your font of all knowledge in that aspect
Bart

where are you living? tbh i would just book a few meeting with banks and explain your situation in adv
I'm living in Manchester as well. I went to Lloyds, but when I told them I was self-employed they insisted I still need someone to work for. I guess I'll try to explain I'm poker player because I'm kinda running out of options

What sort of account are you trying to open? You won't have any luck with a credit card account (paying for something with no $$ in the account) mainly because you wont have a credit rating over here and they want to know you will pay back the $$. Try just opening a current account with a debit card (so you can only buy with $$ in the account) failing that get a savings account
I would maybe try some of the other banks like barclays or santander. Also you should ask yoghi as he moved to London and i guess he got a uk bank account so can probably help a bunch
