I dont know, if you know that, but lv has a fixed exchange rate to euro which is 1.9558

I worked there more than one year, but never had worse exchange rate than 1.93. So 1.6 is really sick, even 1.8 is not that good...

Anyway, have a nice time in BG ;)

@neelton: sounds like u re friends w Bulgarian mafia..

btw, got hammered in the tourney, tried to play superactively, ftw, but busted in top5 for the day. I honestly think i wouldnt have even any EV in the tourney. I was just speechless from what i saw. Totally bad handreading rly of at least 3 ppl on the tab (all the amateurs)+i lost some flips., i think i should just stay by the higher stakes cg rly.

Then played cg, played pretty bad, lost some more, will play for the rest of the time. 1k should start 2moro. I am having fun and learning some lessons abt balkanian blood. Crazy how these ppl are just totally diffrent in adjustments, both in cg and tourneys than our ppl in central Europe..

there were several hands which got me thinking abt my poker carrerr.

1 of which: I r to 150 1st in UTG (blinds 25/50, i have 13k - prolly 40/30 stats till the hand (i had a sick run of cards; which were totally failing on flops tho :(), winning some pots, losing some, i was active, seen 3bet bluffing, not afraid to call 2 streets lighter also); UTG+2 a local amateur, loose but passive (!!) pre, and tighter stationary post (no agression before post, just betted on R, was potcontrolling 2x already ip, 2nd pairs, good kicker etc..) 3bets me to 475 (w 6.2k stack starting the hand - lost few hands ago AK on AKQ in 3bet pot, that was his only 3bet he did (from BU vs CO also! from ~25hands till the hand).. all fold, i 4bet to 1150, he calls fairly quickly.

pot on F: (2450), AQ3r ; i c, he bets 3k (!!), i snapfold.

He had exactly 5050 behind. Now: the reason for c/f is kinda obv imo: i think this board totaly nails his 4betcalling range and 3betting range vs UTG w most AQ, some AJ, AK and QQ, AA slp hands. The only hand i beat is rly JJ sometimes, but he should cbeh this, as he seen me going to rivers also. Also, if i bet, and i am against some sort of KJo, JTo type, which i ve seen 1 of his friends he talked to before 3bet vs my UTG range (so likely the same fetish), i get floated like always, hence bluffed off on the T. So i was superconfident there is basically no other way to play for me than c/f. I would have folded even vs 1/3 bet..

He showes 84s.

end of my live poker carrer?!?

i was bluffed off in at least 1 other big pot and in cg it was just so similar in more spots.. like wtf are these ppl doing?! It seems like its a totally different game here in balkan. I have no fking idea what their steaming ranges are vs me, coz i play so actively, but they dont seem to adjust as i am used to at all. :(

w/e tomorrow another day, just came from the plrs party, saved myself for a marathon 10h cg session 2moro. Will be at casino most of the day, starting the tables :), hopefully some 5/10 too. (today just 5/5)

use some live tells. observe everything, down to the way they breathe.
and stop giving off any.

not like im a live expert or anything :f_biggrin: its just a totally different game.

No mafia relations :f_confused:

The mafia thing is like a legend that is being fed to foreigners. It's not exactly all mafia, just a buttload of mentally limited douchebags with enough money to drive nice cars and throw it around, who spend 20/7 in the fitness and taking proteins + other kinds of unhealthy muscle boosting substances, looking like the hulk.
But I think Ivan should have explained that to you

Sorry to hear you had a bad run. Hope you`ll be able to crush the higher cgs.

:) yea, actually i have somewhat of probs w these protein guys, more times in my life i felt a bit threatened..

i am in Blg till tuesday, the no. still the same, i am happy to invite anyone for some drinks, have some social mood, tho not too late to the night coz want to play live.

I deffo dont enjoy live anywhere as near as online, its deffo a lot diff game as fizz says, i esp dont adjust well to the steam of the plrs which is just instant after 1or2 lost pots..

update plstyvm

hey all,

Firstly a short apology on not updating lately. As prolly mentioned already, I have much more private life and havent had that much time to play online poker for last few weeks. (actually last few months i alw just played an incredibly poor 15-20k hands/month, so ntg rly to speak of too much). I am having a time of my life. I feel incredibly happy, so enjoying it in a calm, and getting back to a bit more serious now again (read lower).

Almost everything that was happening was quite far away from "peak performance poker" so I felt kinda stupid to post here. I did however work analytically on my poker almost every day, but poker theory and poker playing are 2 different things, right? a very interesting mindset link abt it

I did sport a lot, esp running, sometimes some skating or swimming or other. I still have probs w my knee, so I run just 3-5km 3-4 times/week, but i trained myself to be able to keep a 3:10-3:20/km pace for my runs without pushing myself rly to a redzone limit, so feel physically rly strong. I wanted to srsly restart my organized training, i got to know a club, the rly shitty thing is that they train in the mornings, which is my sleeping time obv, so who knows.

I also did a lot of efforts towards chess, trying to figure out if i want to return to competitive playing or not. As i mentioned before, i am being coached by a GM- a truly great person and a friend too, in an exchange for a poker coaching, and my gf is also a strong chess plr herself, which all combined contributed to such insights i never had before. However I must say that after almost 2 months of somewhat structurized training, I dont enjoy the game anywhere near as much as poker. I am thinking whether to rly start playing or just practice for the mental practice and the value of the meetings w the guy, which are rly inspiring for me in many other areas other than chess. Things i like abt chess: it's a lot of quality thinking (keeps me sharp), it's competitive, and i like the community i got to know. Things i dislike: It's rly a ton of information to save/process (= a lot of time to be any good, MUCH more than in poker), most of the games are being played during weekends/ and (or) mornings (=worst possible time for me), and i have a weird psychological issues w a chess game itself. fe: i hate ppl looking to my eyes, i hate the clock ticking next to me, i rly dislike any draw offers and it gets me to tilt and i am a rly bad team plr (i alw prefer play for a win rather than to save a team result) .. so who knows how this unveils. I think i wont take it that much srsly, but it still might change. I like to do sth different, yet challenging when not so driven for poker.

and now the rly latest stuff..

I have been playing some live games, ntg serious tho. Also Pardubice festival, 6max tourney. I played very mediocre and "deservedly" lost on a cooler. I met Matusko there and didnt have much to do there, coz the cg were too low, so coached him. Then travelled to meet Opal in Brno, also some quality analysis time there. We were supposed to go skydiving, but the weather was too bad and we couldnt find a provider. We decided to postpone for 10.8. (@Opal: we need to do it beore 11.8-going to Alps for hiking, almost forgot, np?) Anyone who wants to joing from Cz/Sk still can, it should be Matusko, Opal and me, sofar. So last 4 days or so, i have coached ~6h/day and played some 6h more and analysed some 2-3h which made it for an absorbing poker experience. I rly missed poker. :f_love: Oh yea, i can tell..

I am so happy i took this break before, coz it opened my eyes, revealing new perspectives. I can say, today, 28.7.2011 is an incredible day. It's THE most CREATIVE day of my life prolly. I am amazed also. For 2 things: I just today got the grasp of 1 very important concept in NLHE, which poor knowledge in the past have cost me deffo several thousands of $ alone. I am sooo excited. I promised myself that i will never tell anyone abt what specifically happend coz this information is invaluable, i can just say: i will reveal it in parts to all of my students and i am excited as never to get in interesting hands to analyse. I have a pretty long waiting list on my coachings as of now, sure many of u are swearing on me right now, so am rly sorry i kept many waiting, but i needed this and now am back w rly many more concepts and a whole lot of new energy. Some ppl also pointed out my structure of packages for coachings was very unfortunate, and i realized it also, so from today, the prices are (basically stay the same compared to previous, just more flexibility = no packages): 1sth hour: 180$, 2nd-10th h: 240$/h; 11th h+:210$/h.

Second thing that was abs wonderful abt today's the most creative day in my life, is also a bit of a secret for now. I know, sorry. It's a business sort of an idea which I never rly thought i could come up with, some parts of my life exp just blended and it hapened. It has to do w poker, and if i get the fist few things sorted out, u ll hear more abt it.

Another big news is that from september my gf is moving in to live w me. Now, i do realize it's a big change for both of us, and will likely have effects on my poker development. It has its both pros and cons and i think they are kinda obvious. 1 of the bigger cons i am a bit worried abt that i am likely to lose the will to work on my game so much coz of having sb to spend a wonderful time with, right next to me, at most times. (tho she is going to go to 9-5 work or so) Alright, so in anticipation of this, I want to start scheduling my "back-to-poker-inspiration travels".

back-to-poker-inspiration travels

so, esentially the idea is to travel around mostly Europe, and meet w anyone who is serious abt poker and willing to host me for a week or two. My desire would be to study and work the game as much as we can, look for each other leaks and just overall motivate each other. I am esp looking for NL mid-high stakes plrs, but other game variants pros are also ok. As u know, i sport a lot, so we can also parry up for gym sparings or go and play some squash or football/ swim/run/skate/cycle. w/e. I can bring my own facilities. I also can party and dance till my body can handle no more, but prolly at most once/2 weeks- this is not rly my prime interest tho.

So if anyone is interested and has a place for me to stay, pls dont hesitate to let me know, we should schedule w some time ahead deffo, preferably 1 month+, coz i have other projects going on. Pls skype me. I d like to visit anyone and share all my enthusiasm/ knowledge abt the game.

As a nice start of this travelling idea, in september I meet up w 2 of my bulgarian friends for a pokerflat for 3 weeks in our favorite Golden Sands resort. Looking forw already, have been there already 3 times, and i rly like it.

gl everyone! keep it energetic and creative is the motto of my day :)

nice updates. i've actually read quite abit on what you posted around here, your old blogs and stuff,
and i think you're someone who has tremendous abilities.
you definitely have certain kind of abstract wisdom in poker, as well and in life.
but there is a general theme going on by far which i think kind of hamper you in what you do. you're always seem to be changing directions and goals.
of course this is just what i observed and i could be totally off!
i just wanted to share this with you, although i really kind of like the new changes you have at the moment, a hell lot! congrats with that!
and cheers

@Joenaes: :) many thx Jonas. i kept saying "i ll come" for too long. Lets schedule right now: how is: 8.11-25.11.? It should be pretty warm around that time and no monsoones, or? Would i have my own room? where do recommend buying tickets from?
btw: sorry abt how shitty TdF ended for Belgians :( But they are all up and coming.. next year w a Belgian corner on Alpe d Huez, they will top this year's results by far, i am sure :) btw: lets seriously start planning the camping for the next year. Sagan and maybe both Velits brothers should be in (allegations are they are moving to Quickstep (HTC has srs financial probs, they prolly get out of pro-cycling this season), also Gilbert should move there, so maybe we get a common team to root for :). Let's think of some funny costumes also, hmm? :)

@supeyrio: hey Rio! thx for the comments. This was actually 1 of the first things i read today morning and was thinking a bit abt it later during the day. U re abs right me losing drive for 1 thing, testing other, moving back and forth sort of. It's unfortunate rly. I want to be as effective in life as possible, but this is abs impossible without a life balance. I heard this cliche many tens or even hundreds of times already while doing poker seriously.
1 of the main reasons i started my cooperation w Travis was also that i thought he could fix my drive for poker to be more permanent. However, 1 of the first things he has told me on the very first session was that i should take a break from poker. :) Yea, i mean, i described him my situation he defined me as an extremely competition-striving person. When i am in a good stimulating environment, i can push myself incredibly. I love it. I am not a grinder, i get sick of schematic actions. I dont want to make too many excuses, but i just think my poker environment is very poor. I deffo should/could have done sth w this in the past, at least be more active on forums, maybe try to get more involved in 2+2, but i didnt. Reasons? Other life, my character (holding back when interacting w strange ppl) and then deffo just laziness and a very dangerous self-content after some time.
I maybe should have hired a coach myself, was thinking of DrGiggy in particular, or I could have moved to a pokerflat, which i was searching for for quite a while too. Things evolved differently tho, and i am extremely happy that they did tbh :). Idk, it's hard, there are many intricate things to my motivation abt poker and i have it for now, so will just prolly shut up and preserve atm. I deffo am realzing that i need to sacrifice sth of my current lifestyle to move significantly up in quality. (if i want to play NL5k or higher) More later perhaps, but thx rly for a quality self-reflection stimulating input.

@mbml: hey mbml, yea, am back, got ur mail, looking forw to working w u, u surely have many interesting spots to review right? hope ur still the same energetic as always, soonest tuesday, talk to u on skype.

@Shade: :) what were u doing in Patince? staying there in a rented house, or? u could have as well have spoken to me, or maybe u seen me the time i was swimming doggy-style? it was so f*overcrowded that i said to myself, i need to give myself a strict speed limit, to be sure not to break a tooth of anyone this time. sauna was good tho. Still regularly go swimming/sauna, alw to Patince when i am in KN, but i am leaving tomorrow morning, so maybe some next time.

It was rly U?
haha I am here till Sunday (from monday) And yea, I saw ur doggy style
Patince is rly good so far I have to say
Sauna is good as well.
And as u said it was rly over-crowded today .... geee , I could hardly swim

Oh well, maybe whn I see u next time I will say Hi
(But its rly great here, no wonder u come here all the time)

big shit happening..

this is my take on Girah situation for those who are interested. I ve spent 10h+ reading all the threads on 2+2 and blogs and tweets connected as well. Was rly interested.

put together from my skype conversations w other ppl, dont want to waste time editing:

it appears he got some downswing and psychologicall was so much into "proving" himself to others that he stopped caring abt any moral and just wanted to get to teh moniez he owed Jungle/DIH for the staking.

<<< he started w all of this 1 moht ago
when he went on a downswing
he was like 200k down, it might have been more, he maybe tried to conceal the real no.

<<< his banrkoll aint that big as of now coz he bought a house
and uncle scammed him for 300k before
so of the 2mil he had before, he had just few tens of k now, w the downswing
he couldnt even play NL5k now so the "few tens" of k WERE actually substantial for him. Tbh, i also think he signed up w pokerstrategy and stared coaching more liberally (many ppl for lower rates than other hs regs) purely for money. He got sick of the downswing and needed $$$ to rebuild confidence in other than playing.
he wanted to play Isildur chall
and Durrr chall
he got obsessed w success

also i think the moving in of Jungle/DIH messed up w his head bigtime
imagine he is playing poker for 2y, and now he has a chancce to live everyday w the absolute best, he cannot just be a mere NL2k grinder

<<< psychologically its easy to interpret this as a rush, sudden exlosion in his head, too much of stress and needed to make money no matter how imo so that he can benefit the most later on when they live w him from nosebleeds action

there is no way imo, this has been organized by more ppl. It makes no sense whatsoever that they would leave that much of evidence, and the alleged plrs - Dog and Jungle have way more to lose even than Girah did.
But esp the skype logs, the badly managed weird hands played, the forcing of Jose of action all DOESNT speak for an organized crime, rather than a kid who got too obsessed w success and just cannot let go when on downswing.

Hey TLN! Can't believe I never posted anything here, been reading forever :f_grin: just wanted to say that your posts are always worth thinking about, dont stop please =)
