Hi all I think its time for me to start a new blog, I did start 1 last year ( A walk on the dark side. ) but due to circumstances in my life i.e. losing my job I had to withdraw my bank roll to pay the bills. X(

But thanks to pokerstrategy for a second starting capital on William Hill I can start to play again and hopeful I can get back to where I was last year and beyond ( NL25 and NL50 short handed).

I will be starting from scratch at NL02 and NL04 short handed and charting my progress through the limits, I will as be play some razz cash games as well so will post some razz hands here that I think are interesting and worth commenting as well as the hold em hands.

Now a bit a bout my self:-

I'm Steve and I live in Bradford West Yorkshire and have been play poker for about 6 years. I started playing poker after watching it on tv and thought I can can do that it looks easy.

So I opened an account with William Hill's poker site and deposited 10 pounds their and played on line for the first time, I started with my entire bankroll on the table (cause I didn't know any better as I didn't know any thing about BRM) and started to win some money I was hooked as I turned my 10 pounds in to 160 in my first night of play and thought this is easy. Boy was I wrong the following night I lost it all in about 3 hours, I didn't play again for about 3 weeks. Then I tried again and you guested it the same thing happened I'd win some then lose it all.

This went on and on with the occasional big win of a few hundred $ in tornys but I probably lost more than I won as you do when you start to play or I just played for the fun of playing poker and only played with money I could afford to loss.

Then last year I started to take poker more seriously and started to read books starting with super systems 1 and 2 as I had these already for DoylesRoom where I have an account and got them for acquiring them form a bonus offer.

I started to build a br and got up to about $600 but things didn't quite work out as I was made redundant and had to with draw my br as I had no money and had to pay the bills so poker had to come second at that point so all I was playing was the free rolls.

Thus ends my boom and bust phase of my poker career I hope. I guess this is a familiar story as a lot of you have gone through this phase playing poker.

That's enough about my self for now.

My goals

[B]Short term goals.

1 Up date my every week.

2 To post at least 3 hands per week

3 Get back to playing NL50.

4 Improve my game.

5 build up my back roll.

6 Find a new job to pay the bill until I am making enough money from poker.

Long term goals.

1 To become pro.

2 Play live cash games

3 Play live torns.

I will start posting hands next week.

I think that's every thing for now but if any 1 has any suggestion the fell free to post them.

River: ($10.23) T :spade: (2 players) (Comment)

Results follow (highlight to see):
Hero shows three-of-a-kind, fours (4s 4d)
BU shows (Qs Js)

Hero wins with three-of-a-kind, fours (4s 4d)

I open raised and called his 3 bet as we where both deep stacked, my plan was to play for set value on the flop as he was very loose and if I hit I could get his hole stack. The turn was a bit of a scare card but he had been 3 betting a lot with over cards so my plan work out. If the 4 had not arrived on the flop I would have folded to any bets.

Well, AK v QQ is a very standard flipping situation: QQ only has 57% equity there, and neither you nor he is folding, so that's just standard. You'll lose a lot of flips with AK and QQ, but that's just Poker. You'll win a lot of them too.

My plan for this hand when he called my raise pre flop was always going to be to make a bluff on the flop if no broad way card hit, as these where the types of hands I put villain on. So I put my plan in to action expecting villain to fold but he ships it so I was going to fold as I only had pair of 2's not beating much. but clicked call by mistake. Put the villain on tilt and he lost several more pots to me after that.

The reason for playing this first was blind defence second was as stated above also due to the villain folding on the flop to any aggression.
