So, Ive had to move back down limits to NL2, i had a bit of an epic downswing yesterday and this morning

so......must reevaluate and start crushing souls again!

also, gonna steer clear of SH for a while, bit too swingy for me still

Okay so its time for a bit of an update!

Its been a swingy swingy week or so. Last saturday i went from $100 (and not following proper stop loss limits, or BRM) I was down to $56 playing NL4

So im back at NL2 with much less money than i should have been, and have to start to rebuild.

And rebuilding is what i was doing, and it was going well, within a couple days i was sitting on $64 and playing good poker. Posting hands and evaluating plays, watching some videos, posting in the BSS school.

Yesterday came and within 200 hands i was back at $51 and i was so annoyed. Not tilting, but annoyed. Annoyed that after hours of hard work, my roll was about 80c higher than where i started about 2 months ago

TWO MONTHS!!!

its soul crushing stuff this game.

BUT

This is poker, and shit like this is gonna happen, and if i want to make it, i need t be able to deal with it.

SO, today, i got myself up early-ish, got a big breakfast, showered and made myself fresh for a days grinding.

Played about 3000 hands or so today, playing 9 tables sometimes, which is the most ive ever played (and it felt quite comfortable) and managed to win 6BI at a rate of 9.9bb/100 which i think is pretty awesome.

there were a couple of BI lost in that time, but i played pretty tight, and very aggressive, not giving my opponents any odds to call and made them pay for not completing their draws.

I AM going to do this

this is today's graph, which is very very healthy looking. I ran really well today, made some good plays, picked some good spots, got my money in good, couple of sick turn cards along the way that helped or hindered me (all in on the flop and he turns a bigger set) but all in all, i certainly cant complain that after 2 days and 6K hands im up 17BI and over all i ran at 13.78bb/100 which is pretty decent winrate, even if it is a small sample.

I just to continue some run good like this, I only need 8BI to move back up to NL4 which would be great after last weeks fuck up that made me come back down! its only been a week, so im very please that ive almost moved up again!

The swings can be crushing! I got up to $80 from my $50 at WH, then swung all the way back to 50 through some horrible play at some horrible run bad, but over the last 3 days approx 2-3000 hands I'm up to $90.

Stay cool and play A game all the time. Set loss rule like after you play new stake and lose 5bi, move down to reduce tiltness, re-build confidence and limit loss.

Running hot at the moment and ive almost made enough to go back up to NL4. I think when i do move up, ill stick with FR for a while and continue my strategy. From what i've read and heard, NL4 is more or les the same as NL2, not many thinking players and the same strategy should work.

How old are you? And do you go to work and play poker, 50:50?
I like this idea and also thought about it. But don't know what my family would say... ♦

I can see that your determination with that you play poker and do learning-seesions and coachings brings you a better and better understanding of poker. Brings you a growing winrate and a better tiltresistance.

But be carefull with overrating yourself!
Don't be to aggressive in grinding up. It's a good idea to first grind a little more FR NL4 because SH has a very bigger variance than FR. I would recommend to calculate something like 25-35 BI, with 25 beeing the very minimum and beeing very much prepared for SH. ♠_cool:

ALL in ALL, I can say keep on, how you did and be carefull with your $50 startingBR...it can be gone faster, you can watch it. ♦

@ bennisboy, im in between jobs at the moment, im waiting to start my new one (which prob wont happen before i go on holiday now, so wont be till middle of august) so im essentially unemployed and play quite a lot of my day. My girlfriend is on holiday with her folks so ive nothing better to do haha

Edit - i also 9 table, so tis not that impressive!

@ Adregonro - cheers for the kind words man - yeah because i am in the BSS school, i have learnt a lot more than i would have on my own i think and this has helped tremendously the past few weeks. I dont tilt as much and when i do i know to step away from the computer.

I try not to overestimate myself, i realise im running pretty hot at the moment and that a 35bb/100 winrate is unrealistic to do everyday. But if i can maintain a 10bb/100 winrate id be more than happy with that

I'm just very happy at the moment because last week i had moved up and then got crushed and i didnt think id be back up as quickly as i am, i thought it would take a month or so, not 3 days.

I'm gonna play Nl2 until around $115-$120 or so and give myself a 10BI cushion at NL4, so if i go to $80 then i will move down again i think.

well today was a bit more like normal for me, bit of a struggle most of the day but managed to grind away a small profit of 3 fiddy

some crazy hands today, people were playing like real maniacs, so many 3bets, or raise and 4 callers stuff. REally fishy, but quite aggro as well. Kinda threw me off a bit haha

after my 4BI loss today i took a break and had my dinner. Came back ready to crush. I have a 5BI stop loss so i wanted to break before i hit this so i could keep playing for the day

it ws a very tough session. but i think i prevailed and played some good poker, i played some terrible poker at times as well, a theres lots to work on and leaks to fix, but thats why im at NL2 where its cheap to learn from mistakes! I've got loads of hands to post up in the evaluation forum for Veriz to check out. So i'll be busy doing that tomorrow morning before i start to grind. I'd do it now but im a bit shattered tbh!

Im sitting on $110 which would be okay BRM for NL4, i'd be happy to start therre now, but im in no rush really and id like to get to $120 or so before i move up, give myself a nice 10BI cushion beofre i would have to move down (fingers crossed i dont need to )

You can get it from the PS.com store, can't remember the price off the top of my head, but it's defo improved my game. Altho googling it, you can't get a standalone version (I think) so you would need HEM. Together I guess the cost does add up a bit, but I t\hink it's been worth it.

What are you using to track your stats atm?

Basically it works by looking at all your data and hands, analysing it all, and breaking it down to tell you what you are doing well/badly. What you need to change/you're trouble hands, your positional play... everything really. Although I guess if you are NL2 (you are right?) Then you can easily wait a little while for it, and I think that is probably wise. Even at NL5/10 though, I would say it's worthwhile.

I'd say leave it a while, but when you step up, consider it. It also comes with hundreds of videos and loads of material, and it is easy to access because it can recommend what to read/watch given your stats.

Sorry if the above isn't too clear, I know it's midday, but I'm still so drunk from last night!
