Not much man.

Yep, surprise surprise, I'm lurking on the forums.
Well. How bout that black friday stuff? Kinda glad I got out of online poker. It's all so outrageous though; like, I get that poker rooms need to be regulated, but in a western liberal democracy like America, there needs to be a much higher burden of proof on the people who want to deny the public of their freedoms. Yes, gambling addicts have a serious problem, No, banning online poker outright is not an acceptable solution. I am always absolutely astonished at how often politicians fail at what is really a very simple analysis of the pros/cons of Restriction vs. Regulation.
/end brief libertarian rant.

Anyway. Med school is going well. Did significantly better than I expected in my first semester results, if I do a little more study this semester I might finish the year on a Distinction. which would be freakin epic. My study habits / work ethic need to improve.. i wish i could study med as easily as I used to study SnGs :P
Poker-wise, I'm having a cash game at mine this friday with the usual friends/fish which should be good. If anything funny happens I'll be sure to post in here.

What else is happening.. Apart from med school, i'm now running a music blog with a friend of mine... if you like electro/house/dubstep etc. (any of the tunes i've posted in this blog previously) you should check it out at http://crumbzmusic.com/ and follow us on Facebook ;)

Hope everyone is well and still crushing the tables etc.
Ged

Nope, I got platinum for doing a tonne of hand judging at a time when the paid judges were both either away or very busy. at least, i think that's why i got it.

Not sure yet, haven't experienced many specialities yet (i'm only first year after all), but I like the look of some kind of Surgical specialty at the moment.

Poker game last friday went well. Got up about 2BI in a few hours of live play, pretty sick... ran really good and played decent, picked up monsters a fair few times, caught my draws etc.
We played 72o game which was epic fun too. Sick bluffz vs. the fish.

Seeya all round here again sometime soon

You're a coach now? Jeez, they'll let anybody be one around here these days :P Kidding, awesome work man!

My BR is like $50 lol, I'm considering having a go at playing cash. I don't think I wanna go back to grinding 9-man SnGs again. Once FTP is back up (and i'm finished exams) i think i'll watch some videos and get started again =)

I forgot just how lame grinding the micros is. I thought $1s and $2s SnGs were bad, i had no idea about NL2... Anyway, i've re-read a bunch of articles and am starting to post some simple hands in the forums. I need to get familiar with bet sizings in BSS, because i'm too used to playing only 30bb deep in sit n gos :P

There's also a tonne of stuff that just seems weird to me; like, is AQs really a fold from early position? the starting hands chart thinks so, but it feels weird folding it.

If anyone feels like teaching me some BSS "basics" via skype so i'm not shit, that'd be awesome :f_biggrin:

Key: bet until raised, then fold anything but the nuts.

You should win with this strategy. Not crush, but win.
