I have 3/4 of money in $ and 1/4 in EUR at PokerStars. Does this mean I should convert all $ to EUR because dollar is going to crash?

as the businessman that i am(or not) i would do same if i would have tons of $,because i predict euro will grow coz a lot of euros went last week to Greece and its a lack of euros in rest of the world.
But that depends of the country u are from..for ex in my country(Romania) many people come home from western europe to spend their holidays with their families and bring a lot of euros => so euro is less expensive in this period
btw:its just my opinion so DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME :f_biggrin:

dollar is not crashing like ftp :f_biggrin:

just depreciating vs most currencies. i would not cash out in CHF or EUR atm, but if u play on USD tables (which u probably are) and play e.g. on a site like WH i would not switch your main currency to EUR cuz the conversion sucks bigtime every time u sit down on $ tables.

dont worry too much about the USD. there are other ppl who's job it is to do everything they can in order to strenghten the currency. u should only focus on playing your best poker.
and in case u are also trading currencies, u should only focus on finding right entry and exit points for your trades ;)

overall i think our luck is that the ftp brand is way too strong not to be of interest for investors. brand value + software + customer base is just too big in the gambling industry imo. investors will take over control, its just a question of time imo. such a cash cow in the longrun. first weeks will be tough probably.

Well since more then half their customer base was gone on black friday and god knows when if ever US players will be able to play on Full Tilt again their player pool drops significantly.

And the rest is pissed off at FTP for having their money locked down and after this weeks hearings it seems like it will take at least till september to find out when we are getting our monies back. If at that point full tilt comes back a lot of players will just cash out from FTP and never play there again.

They will probably be left with about 20-25% of their player pool at that point since a lot of players will also migrate to other sites and it will be hard to get them back. Especially if party improves their software or stars makes their own version of rush poker.

And the longer this will go on the worse it will get. Their brand name is still strong but if the court dates and hearings are going to drag on for a year or even longer their brand will pretty much be worthless at that point.

All in all i think buying FTP is +EV long term, but its also high risk investement for a ton of $$$ with so many unknown variables by not knowing what will happen in the US market and even if that gets regulated stars and FT might not be allowed to server US customers anyway and what kind of fines they will be facing from DOJ.

I guess we just have to hope for the best, but plan for the worst :)

true, the longer it takes the worse the situation gets overall.
and ofc all of us are also angry and most of me and my friends have huge amounts of $$ there, so we would also like to see ftp back on track.

but we cant rly change what happene(s)d. we can only deal with it, so being angry or sad doesnt help.

however, im convinced, investors have smart consultants and they know they have to expect a bank run in the first week. hence, they need liquidity to cash out. and cash out fast. after first 2 weeks and all cashouts are gone through tho, im sure ppl will forget and only see their new promotions, their software, the brand, the traffic (ofc waaay worse than before, but still top4 worldwide) and esp since many regs wont play in the beginning, games might be soft.

ofc only true for lower stakes, dunno how much traffic there will be on higher stakes.

i think in case ftp comes back, it will be fast growing again. only prob i see they dont get license fast enough. if it takes another 4 months, i think even public media will catch up and all recreational plrs will also see that they cannot trust the brand ftp any more. so the longer it takes, the worse it gets probably. im still positive we will be playing on a healthy poker room called ftp till end of the year.

i like your last sentence tho. i think thats a good attitude overall in many scenarios ;)

just a thought if they have no liquidity how are they going to play their employees? i think i read they have around 700 employees. if they are on minimum wage (they obv are on way higher than that) that is 1million euro per month. they also have lots of other outgoings unless they get an investment soon my guess is that they won't have enough to cover the outgoings. lets hope this isn't the case though

On iPoker, the conversion rate is the same when you sit at a table and when you leave it.
The conversion rate is only a pb when using the auto rebuy where it is rounded to the lower decimal but we are talking about less than 1c each time.

moved from wörthersee's west to east coast today. from my family's house to my friend's apartment.
epic grinding & tennis action to come :f_cool:

after outdriving the driving range (omg, my driver and me are a rly good team i can tell u! :f_love: ) and healthy breakfast, i played a very long session today. first nlhe, then plo. in between watched my friend play plo5k vs isildur, galfond and magicninja. lol solid lineup :f_biggrin:

analysed my plo game quite a bit last 2 days and changed minor things but i expect them to add up a lot in the longrun. anyway, hand of the day: not the hand itself, but my thought process here was pretty sophisticated: (i have to say it was at the end of the session. played 3 hours nlhe followed by 4 hours plo - i mean who is not completely brain dead after that!? :f_p: )

table broke, so i was sb and didnt have the bu. strange situation. if i realised i didnt have the bu, i might have folded ... anyway, i open and reg calls.

flop not soo bad, i mean i has top pair! cbet - call
his range is wide enough, many pair + fd, some pair + sd, the monster pair + fd + sd combos i expect him to raise. also top2 and sets cuz his af is rly high.
i turn 2pair and bet again for value vs draws. only 64 and 69 ahs me beat. and i have a 9, so blocker!!!
river a T and i check after some secs. i was most worried about AT that had hearts to go with it. but he wont bet AT. maybe 64 doesnt even bet. but probably will. 69 i though he doesnt have that often cuz he is rly aggro and mostly raises turn - also i have a 9 - blocker ftw
he bets 2/3 and since i thougth 69 is unlikely, i thought its either 64 that vbets or its J9 that had JT9x maybe with weak hearts, maybe without. so i thought he is mostly vbetting and not often enough bluffing his nud hearts combos (esp cuz Ah also has tp and often enough tk or another low 2nd pair, so there is no need to turn the hand into a bluff all that often)
so sincei thougth "yeah, i still have nut blockers", i thought about turning my 2 pair into a bluff vs random TT or 64 combos. i was thinking about the bluff c/rai and my timebank ran out. so i had another close look at the board and thought, yeah, my J9 blockers are rly cool. he will fold 64 and TT often enough. he doesnt have 96. so ship it. and the moment i wanted to ship i was like "wtf, J9 .... is the nut straight lol" i was so shocked that i almost timed out . lol dunno if it sounds so funny as it was for me at the time, but yeah ofc my read was also off that he doesnt have 96. lol
time to end the session i guess if i only see nut blockers here :f_biggrin:

tomorrow i have a businss meeting in the afternoon and in the evening im gonna play plo live :f_love: @ local card club. plo live > all

sunday another tennis match scheduled & in the evening its once again mtt madness time. i need a break after all that cg grinding for one day, maybe i run hot one time in those donkaments, who knows

I got so confused, I was reading your analysis, and when you said you were afraid of AT and 69 I was thinking "What, you have a straight? Or do I really not get PLO!!!" ha. I cant blame you after like 7 hours though!

I'm so useless at PLO that it even took me a while to realise that you had the best hand, especially whilst I was reading your analysis, soooo confusing

most interesting hand from today's live session.

i had whole table covered, in this hand villain had 500bb effective. my image: aggro, esp when we got short i was playing 100%, raising all hands first in, not 3b much tho. but a bit ofc. game is 5 handed.

pre: co opens me bu 3b, sb calls, co calls. 3way to the flop

flop: pot ~ 150, sb donks 125. co folds. me to act. i raise to 400 and rep AA** in order to get AJ, and JJ to fold. also expect not nut sd + pair to fold after tanking. i mean we are rly rly deep. he was also "regular" in the game. only 1/2 game here, but he was one of the "better plrs".

unfortunately he doesnt oblige and doesnt fold. he calls.

turn: blanks, i shove, he calls AJ. gg, river J

many many interesting hands i pl but ofc cant post all of them. played awesome. edge wise best game i can play. but didnt get rewarded today. maybe next time :f_p: but i dont complain, ran good before that online
a bit down afterall, but just due to this mega pot with my monster wrap. monday next session, higher stakes :f_love:

tomorrow tennis match & mtt night. im rdyyyyy :f_cool:

@ hand: ofc best case he is slight underdog vs my monster wrap. worst case i have AA or JJ. so he should def fold flop. just to mention here. oop he will alw make big mistakes vs my range if he ships top2 every time. but this time he was right, next time i will be shipping _cool:

last days i focused rly hard on analysing my plo game. watched my highstakes friends play, discussed hands, watched some vids and went over my own hand histories and also played just a few tables in my sessions in order to max focus on every small aspect of my game.
found 2 small leaks, or actually maybe we can call them big leaks for those stakes. dunno. anyway, i fixed them like a pro and steamrolled my opponents last 2 days. _love:
me feels enlightened!

also had a rly lovely 1k hu match vs one of the worst plrs i found in 2011 :f_biggrin:

trips pre?! eeeez game!
just one hand. i could post a gazillion hands he alw bluffed when checked to and couldnt help himself muhahhaha and ofc calling "light" was a standard move in his repertoire!

after he played me 600 hu, he moved up to 1k. he didnt want to play deep, so he alw joined another table when "deep". i think i might have busted his bankroll _evil:

or maybe he is just one level ahead of us? _confused:

ok one more hand for entertainment. his flop minraise strategy was almost as tough to counter as his min3bets pre _evil:

flop = value raise? river = value bet? this is not texas holdem my friend! or is he merged and want to reverse-level me into calling A879 with nut hearts!? [just to note: i would play this hand fast on the flop cuz vs him its an abs monster vs his range. turn i usually bet, but he just bluffed 100% rivers after ch-ch turn, so i thought i just call most rivers. usually b/f 2pair on such a boardtexture makes life way easier vs not so tricky opponents]

I dont get the hand where vilain had KKKQ. You bet with so many many draws and not a single one hits, so I dont know why its so bad to c/c all streets with overpair/trips.

Sorry about my PLO2 donky knowledge, I'm probably saying something really stupid :f_p:

the dynamic in the game was that it was standard for villain to call down light. so its probably unlikely that TT would 3barrel here with air/missed draws on river. i could be totally wrong though :f_confused:. better ask the master TT himself _cool:
