Actually it's called a downswing dude. You really are clueless.

He was steaming

After UB and black friday i don't see why it's so controversial to believe some sites are rigged in some way.

There is a big possibility for it.

Also I don't understand why did Pokerstars never try to make it public if they are rigged or not. I mean they know what people think about their RNG and "rigged" system, why couldn't they make a proof of not being rigged? As they are now they are more then capable of doing such thing, specially after Black friday.

as some of you said the article was not about poker being rigger, but as poker being addictive.
And I know this feeling. When I was teenage I myself lost a big sum to my friend (the sum is like my 10 wages of my current job). I didn't know any strategies of games, I didn't have even internet at those days but I knew they did not have internet and didn't read strategies also, so the odds were 50:50. But the friend somehow was better then me at cards games.

I wanted to learn how to beat friends at cards but I just didn't know where to get the information, that was the problem.

Good thing was that my friend made big discounts for me and I managed to go out of this. And then I dropped gambling for probably like 5 yeards or more. Until I found online poker :)

But with this guy it is different thing - he could just simply google search poker strategy and thats it. I would have probably google searched at those times when I was loosing. But of course cannot be 100% sure what my teenage brain would have thought.

Hi I have proof that the "cash-out rig exist". After I have cashed out when I've examined my hands, have been playing more hands played more spewy and by that been in some more marginal situations and by that of course lost a bit.

Thats proof that you're mind can get rigged but i do not believe its been the RnG thats been rigged as now-days after some more experience that´s not happening anymore. _biggrin:

I can not see the meaning of rigging a site as they make more than enough from the rake anyway and why risk their businesses for such a thing like rigging their site.

i have proof too that the cash out rig exists - my own brain and my own experience at almost every online poker network and a very negligible amount of stakes which is the best thing i did. Im out of this crap, although i placed 8th in a tourney and 13th in another one that felt good, im still out. After watching million dollar cash game on you tube and seeing eric seidels 888QQ full house beaten by Gus hansens AAQQQ full house im not sure if i want to dabble in poker live either, theres always chance, and if its a very long downswing, i can do without the stress in my life, im happy with what i make and have.

let me add that our family owns $45 million worth of land (70 acres) and assets, and my share is $15 million, im not going to dabble in online poker like this sad case who got sucked out on but rather just enjoy my life and then die.

And ya $15 million is more than phil iveys entire live tournament earnings more or less, so im happy with what i have and im 30 years old. Good luck to all.

jacknash. try reading fooled by randomness by nassim nicholas taleb. since you definitely fail at understanding randomness and appear to look for patterns where there are none. thats fine, most people do the same.

there are tons of people who have been making lots of money from this game over a long period of time, and lots of people that lose. its incredible that people can look at one singular case of some retard that chooses to lose 1mil and assume that because he loses, that must mean that EVERYONE is incapable of winning online.

this game is definitely beatable, and if it truly is rigged, i'm glad its consistently rigged to favor me and my friends that have worked hard enough to understand how to make a consistent profit from it. poker, starting from only the free $50 given to me by this site, has allowed me to pay for my university expenses the last two years. i haven't been employed in that time and i am happily debt free without the benefit of luckboxing a big MTT score. i am returning to school this month to finish my degree in psychology and continue to pay for it with poker earnings - while most of my peers struggle with student loans and balancing full time jobs with studies. i expect to finish my degree debt free and continue as a poker pro following my studies.

this game requires an understanding of three subjects to beat it: psychology, probability, and logic. if you are not beating it over an extended period of time, you are severely lacking an understanding of at least one of the three.

Lolz nice brag. Inheriting money is nice you really earned that. You also earned Busto thread starter of the year nomination congratz~!! So some kid deposits some of his daddys money on poker sites, losses, blames rigged sites, joins pokerstrategy site, gathers up other bustos to prove his claim. Your very qualified to discuss this good thread.

70 acres=45 mil? must be 70 acres of gold mines

Well you say you have proof but we haven't seen any proof from you. I´m sure someone would like to see the proof.

We haven't even seen proof that he knows what proof is.

Apparently because his friend said it is rigged, and an WSOP winner got annoyed by a downswing, and someone got addicted to poker who clearly was very bad at it, then it is rigged.

Depends what you mean by "rigged"

If you mean something about the RnG then both Full Tilt and Stars under the conditions of their licenses in the UK have to have their RnG's externally auditted and be able to produce the results, in fact both sites linked to the audits on their main websites if you dug enough.

wrt a site like Party Poker or William Hill, they're listed on the LSE. Having dodgy unaudited games would be utter suicide for them and once again they have to have their RnG audited.

If you mean "there are more losers than winners". Yup that's called the rake and that combined with the fact that 80% of poker players think they're better than 80% of other players generally correlates into massive feelings of injustice.

What happened to this guy is unfortunate but in the grand scheme of things he's a statistical outlier, which also means thanks to the way media is he'll achieve much more importance than this story is entitled too. Yes there are problems with gambling addiction, that's why casinos have "Game responsibly" and other such slogans plastered all over them. The tools are there, the sites provide them (such as deposit limits, downswing limits etc). If people choose not to use them that's not the site's responsibility.

Well Boomer if they were able to pay off bank officials and other people with bribes to process poker payments in the name of golf balls and jewellary to further the interests of their business, it is possible that they use agencies that get to see a clean run of games during the audit. And its easy to buy that with money. Honestly that is really easy to do especially when the agency will get a fee to say that their clients games are safe. I personally have a different opinion on this and i do believe that parts of online poker is rigged. A WSOP bracelet winner has also claimed he believes online poker is not random, here is the link
http://www.onlinepoker.net/poker-news/general-poker-news/online-poker-rigged-wsop-winner/6801
And having tried Entraction, Ipoker, Pokerstars, Full Tilt, Everleaf network (minted), Everest and Action poker (pay no rake.com) my overall belief is that elements of online poker are rigged, but in my opinion about 96% of the games are not, thats just my view. People who are vocal in the chat boxes of poker sites tend to get different treatments, there are discussions of this subject on people that experienced this at pokerstars, i did experience it too.

However you are free to believe in their systems, but i would like to re-iterate if they have criminal prosicutions for having broken the law on serious crimes to make $, they can tweak their systems to make $ imo. However i respect your point of view if you believe they arent rigged, i do believe they are in my experience.

They have criminal prosecutions against them for trying to pay out the customers they owed money to thanks to a law that WAS corruptly bought it, read up on how the UIGEA was bought in and then you would probably see who WAS paying off the right people. They don't have criminal prosecutions against them for providing rigged games.

WSOP Braclet winner does not mean good player, it means "guy who got lucky in a tournament". Even our own coaches admit that in order to bink a tournament of any size , if you're talking aboiut a sample size of 1, luck has to be on your side so just becasue one guy comes out and says "I don't trust it" doesn't provide any sort of proof.

And if you have proof the sites are rigged why haven't you produced it? I hope your sample size, if it's to do with how the cards fell, is in the tens of millions of hands otherwise you're not getting anywhere with it.

Also a "tin foil hat" arguement regarding their RNG auditors is not really going to get you anywhere either. Cigital (Pokerstar's Auditors) are a vast Online Security firm who are the leaders in their field, not some incredibly small insignificant bank. If you want to learn more about them go here

http://www.cigital.com/

The problem that a lot of people, especially live players have, is that human beings are TERRIBLE at predicting what is truely random. Our brains are not wired that way. We try to see patterns in everything which results in us drawing conclusions that are not true especailly based on short term statistics. Poker does not work the way we are supposed to learn, i.e. through experience, which makes it and incredibly difficult game to learn. This is exaserpated when people play live because at a NLHE table you get, what, 25-30 hands an hour compared to the 80 per table you get when playing online.

Also, sorry to burst your bubble, but your net worth has nothing to do with your arguement. So nice brag, should it be true, but really it's not very relevant information.

But you obviously are steadfast in your beliefs so the only advice I'll give is for the sake of your own mindset is just let it go. You're not going to convince people who believe in the games that they're rigged, unless you actually provide the concrete proof you're talking about rather than just random assertation, and they're not going to change your mind either so unless your intention is simply to troll then really nothing here is going to serve a purpose

Best of luck in whatever you choose to do

70 acres worth 45 million?lmao
