July was my best month ever. decided not to post a results wrap-up anymore. When i started, i did it to have a record for newer players to see the kind of variance they could expect moving up the STTs. I dont think its worthwhile to keep doing that, when big field MTTs are my main game and I can go months without seeing any green.

I'm running in 2 weeks which is exciting! My fiance and I got these bright orange shirts from the Lupus association to wear.

I'm also SUPER excited about playing the Sydney championships at the end of this month. Live poker is something I want to get more involved in as I really enjoy it. I plan on forking out about 4k worth of BIs, hopefully I can run good.

I'm also working on a new video series with z4tz this should be epic when we finish it.

It's a great graph, but it's basically two big cashes in 1K MTTs. I get the impression this is a good month for a top MTT pro, but doesn't the variance in this scare you shitless?

yeah variance sucks. big fields aren't my main game (but a very +EV daily addition to my sets) and I luckily have other sources of income to sustain myself through the tough times. I'm usually very thorough in my thoughts, but at the moment with the instability in online poker I'm just seeing where things end up. I really feel much happier grinding these games than grinding out a 1-2% roi in the HS STTs on stars. Even if they are very frustrating at times. I think the 16k STTs prepared me a lot for the variance in MTTs.

4-5k swings are not uncommon with a $25 ABI in big field MTT's, but grinding 180's as a main source of "income" and playing MTT's on the side will help to nullify that quite a bit. That being said, 180's can be pretty variable as well. You probably already know this but 60-80BI downswings happen pretty often at 180's.

its possible to play more than 30 tables. but that doesnt mean its optimal. at lower stakes i think 12-16 tables is optimal for 9mans MAYBE 24 if you are really good at multitabling. my preference is 9-12 depending on stakes. usually 9 at high stakes.

Treated myself to a SSD. my current HDD is definitely a bottleneck in my system, when I install this new SSD my pc is going to be unstoppable!

On another topic. I read that you started mtt's because stt's are infested and lambert says 180's at stars are infested. I play 7 to 15 (yes i know meh) what do you think on that limit would be more profitable 9-man or 180's?

i think it depends on your style and what you enjoy. any form of poker can be very profitable if you put the time and effort into improving. what is more profitable? not sure, depends on what you are best at.

just came 4th in the big 162 for 6.6k.

got a bit unlucky at the end called a 20bb bvb shove as the SS with A8o and failed to hold against KQo. still very happy with my play. managed to pick some good spots. bit disappointed that i couldnt ship my first 5 fig score... but it will come soon.
