Hi people,
I would like some info about some good freshwater fishing spots near Gibraltar.
My wife and I have in plan to move to Gibraltar in 2013 (not sure yet, but highly probable.) As one of my favorites hobbies is to go fishing and my preference goes to freshwater lakes searching for ciprinidaes (mostly carp, grass carp and tench, but roaches and breams, etc are fun too) using waggler and feeder Technic, I would like some help about where to find it.
After searching for a while on google earth, I've found what seems to be 2 huge accumulation lakes to the north west of Gibraltar and four little ones to the south west of pueblo nuevo de guadiaro that seems to be part of a golf complex.
Any info about those spots or other ones (in the 20km around Gibraltar) would be greatly appreciated. I am interested in any info you have (prices, type of licence needed, species encountered, etc).
I am aware of the relative ridicule of my request, since Gibraltar is surrounded by the sea, but I am not really attracted in saltwater fishing. Of course I will try it, especially since I always wanted to try squid fishing at night, but I do not expect it to replace the pleasure that I have in hooking a nice carp.
