Id stick with the Audi. Most Porsche drivers are using their car to compensate for something :f_love:

This blog gets sicker everyday :f_pleased:

one time!!!!! poker talk in this blog :f_biggrin:

i will post a biiiig update next week. till then, i thought it would be a solid idea to have some poker strategy talk going in my blog. [if i let everybody ask/post, it will probably be too much and that way i can "reward" those ppl who contributed to my blog last 2 years, think thats fair]
not too much strategy here in the last two years compared to bother blogs (e.g. mbml) _biggrin:

so i thought about letting everybody who posted at least one time in my blog ask ONE strategy question or post ONE hand. i will try to answer/judge as deeply as i can.

no mindset questions, i think those were answere for the most part in my AMA. im fine with any game and any stakes. but keep in mind, my best games are nlhe and plo (hu,sh,fr) so asking me flhe fr or 6 handed super turbo sng question might not be such a good idea since my answers might be fishy :f_biggrin: (but maybe its interesting to u how a fish interprets a specific sng scenario .... )

Nice, I will gladly take use of this

PLO HU hand against maniac fish at 2/4 € entraction

89/68/42 wtsd 29
I play generally 63/55/16

55% continuation bet in 3bet pots, 33% turn barrel (overall), 50% river barrel over 346 HU hands. Don't have my notes atm since its in the software and not HEM. If you need any more stats, pls ask. Basically the game was very aggro. I did quite some bluffraises as well and sometimes we get it in pretty light

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
PL Omaha $4(BB) Replayer
($388)
Hero ($648)

Hero posts (SB) $2

Dealt to Hero 6♠ 7♣ A♥ 4♣

Hero raises to $10, raises to $30, Hero calls $20

FLOP ($60) 5♠ 8♦ J♦

bets $30, Hero calls $30

TURN ($120) 5♠ 8♦ J♦ 9♣

bets $90, Hero raises to $390, calls $238 (AI)

I think everything till turn is standard (smaller preflop to have more manoeuvrability, i make it 3x if we're deeper).

Turn we have the option to call or to ship. Fold is not an option in this game. I decided to shove but I dont know if its most +EV. During the hand I was thinking if I could make correct decisions on some rivers or let him make bigger mistakes.

If we call, we can fold on diamonds if he shoves into us very happily. So we can get away on those cards, probably a ten as well.

We can get him to put money in bad on blanks if he decides to shove with missed diamond draws+gs or something like that.

Question is if we miss action from certain hands that we get it in as a favorite on the turn. For example JKQ* will probably c/f on quite some rivers but might decide to bet/call this turn. Same for hands like 2p+gutter although i guess he would c/c some rivers with those hands as well.

Basically I didnt want to face a decision on the river, so I shoved. But lately I've been trying to find as many spots as i can to 'play poker' and not try to end hands as quickly as possible.

Anyways, I hope you can take a look at this hand, I think its an interesting one :)

I have a fairly basic strategy question for u. What is your standard cbet size at low stake live games (1/2-2/5NL)? I know this is soo situational/players/board texture dependant but what sizing is your standard (ie: half pot, 2/3 pot, 75% pot?)

having no standard is my standard. !!!

NLHE:
in live games, its mostly dependent on my opponents stack size (im usually covering everybody if possible)
if he is rly deep, i start with overbetting if i think it gives me good opions on later streets ;)

if i have pure air and board is dry, i dont mind betting 1/4.

it rly depends. u can have many betsize leaks live, so betting small with weak hands and big with big hands is probably a good starting point. nobody is ever exploiting u.

at the same token, we can exploit our opponents a lot. if sb bets small and small, i auto raise turn. if he is deep i raise 5x or so, if not deep 2x. rly depends. i always wanna maximasie FEQ.

overall, im not too bluffy live tho. ppl are mostly stations. and cbetting less in live games is also not such a bad idea. at least for me/my range since i have so much garbage. but if i hit, i dont mind overbetting regularly.

PLO:
i mostly played plo tho live this year. in plo, my standard is pot cbet. i like to play big pots so i pot pre and i pot on the flop very very often and go from there. ppl get scared when pots get big. thats when i feel most comfortable. when ppl are scared and i can trash talk all the time and say "pot pot pot" as often as possible _biggrin:

please play this in a Dutch casino when playing against a female. She will be on tilt instantly since ''pot'' means ''lesbian'' in Dutch slang

1) lol entraction. sickest action site 400-2k plo sh i've seen in a while. swing that shiiiiiiiit :f_biggrin:

2) till turn, i dont think we need to talk too much about it, u mentioned everything there is to mention i think.

3) 33% turn barrel is an interesting stat, but still im more interested in his betsizing. does he always bet 3/4 here? doesnt he pot? doesnt he bet 1/2? doesnt he sometimes use strange sizings like 92.50 in that spot?
if u saw him potting turn in those spots, i would not like my hand at all. in that case im rly rly unsure and i think u are looking at QT or set/top2 + fd very very often or even T7 with diamonds. overall a monster range.
if he doesnt mindlessly barrels turn in 3b pot as pfa (which i think he doesnt after what u wrote) this is rly rly not a turn ppl pure bluff. 9 or T on the turn are the best board connecting cards.
so for me, betsize and timing on turn makes my decsion in this spot.
if i saw him potting turn in a similar spot before, i rule out overpair + nut fd, 2pair + fd, top set etc (AAdKdQ, KdQJd7 etc)
if i didnt see him pure bluff in that spot before on a rly good card for our range without eq there are only monsters left that have us crushed
in that case, i fold

4) dont get me wrong, i know how these hu battles are played and if he never potted turns before, my desision changes A LOT and i never fold.

with QT, i personally call very often and call any river. with T7 or 67 i shove. u get tough decisions on Q T and 7 rivers. he will probably shove those cards with his fd and u are left with a rly close spot.

overall range wise, your hand is around 60. maybe 65% favourite against his range (or what i think is realisitic). in that range there is QT once in a while, but tmostly fd+pair+gs

if he has a pure bluff, yeah u dont give him the chance to make a spewy river shove, but your hand faces yery tough decisions on so many cards that i like the call, call line with QT way more

Sorry, I know I hate getting asked questions when villain is "normal nl400 tag" since they're all different, but since my current site has freaking anonymous tables and that's where all the action is.. please imagine this is someone you have a vague idea is a decently aggressive regular :f_biggrin:

What is your plan here and why? :f_p:

I've been experimenting with quite a few different lines in these kind of situations.

(I was going to count out all the different ones, but I realised there were too many, so I'll just let the question stand as it is :P )

1) just for the records: ofc we are able to maximise our ev only if we have more information than "standard nl400 reg on anonm. table"

2) @ your questions: i think the answer is actually quite "easy" since there are less variables.

our options:
- c/f flop: i dont think we need to talk about it ... if thats our plan, why call pre ...
- c/r flop: probably the best/most common line at first glance. ofc u look a lot like oesd and gs on this flop, still a typical bu first in range is so wide, that he will completely miss so often and he just cant fight back always. and even if he 3b the flop, u can easily shove cuz we have to act under the assumption that sets call on such a dry flop very often. when he calls, we just bet any turn and on the river we have a decision. i mostly shove rivers. once in a while he calls and shows a set. other than that he will fold. and dont forget, we have 8 nut outs and we could even think about shoving a J or T on the river to avoid negative freeroll. A9 or Qx is same in his mind. so hitting a pair we should neve c/c imo. shove or c/f
- donk flop: planning on 3betting over a raise cuz its rly tough for him to have a real hand that wants to stack off here. vs unknowns, u have to play with perceived ranges all the time. so your donking range will be perceived weak overall, so ppl will attack it a lot. but your 3b in that spot wont be perceived weak anymore. this line would be my most preferred line.
- c/c flop: gives us many options on later streets. we can c/r/f any turn. or just hit a pair or a str8 on the turn and call again. and if turn goes ch-ch and we miss river, we just bluff and credibly rep QT, A9 etc

as unknown vs unknowns i prefer donk/3betting over c/c over c/r

reason being c/r is known on nl400 as a "standard" move with super wide ranges. donk/3b and c/c gives me more options with my perceived range imo, esp with our hand

btw @ all hands/questions. only cuz i posted my view, doesnt mean the discussion is necessarily over. i can always be convinced im wrong or maybe u have to add something ....

Sweet.

But a followup question... I'm not quite sure what to do with my 3bet sizing. I mean, I guess min3betting would look just as strong as my sizing or bigger in this spot, do I want to make it big enough to call shoves or not..? That's where I feel a little lost, once I go for the donk/3bet (which is what I found to be the best)

with reads/dynamic/history everything is different and i like a small 3b to shove over a flop 4b or bet turns when he decides to float with his air cuz its so cheap

but: we dont have any kind of history here. so i prefer a big raise to 94-114. i dont want him to rebluff KJ, AhTh or so. if we make a big 3b (that might not make super much sense actually and probbaly is not balanced at all) we are not inducing a re-bluff from K or A high. and ofc we dont want that.

so i say nh and nice sizing. btw: i would not fold to a shove even not getting the odds vs a Q. u could see 87 or A9 (cuz he never expects u to play QJ that way and he blocks 99, Q9 .. so only 66 beats him etc)
vs A9 u have exactly 50% EQ!!

Awesome oppertunity! Ill ask something before you get flooded with hands and questions :f_biggrin:

I know you used to "grind FR rush for easy money". I have tried several times to put in aloooot of volume (SH) but every time I wanna grind like a maniac I fail.

Lately, I have been grinding some FR aswell, and it doesnt take my focus off or tilts me like playing huge amounts of SH would.

So the question is, do you think its a bad idea to play 1-2 sessions of my main game (SH NL50) and grind out some extra hours on FR for easy money and easy decisions and gradually try to increase the SH playtime? Or do you think it's strictly a better idea to try to just play SH?

I know SH > FR in terms of learning etc, but SH sessions + FR sessions when tired or less focused > less sessions/more sessions with tilted/bad sessions of only SH.

Maybe it makes no sense, but I hope it does :f_p:

Thanks :f_love:
