Ship Ittttt!!!!! GL Sir...
finished 34/510 in event 1 (mincashed). wasn't my day. lost QQ < AQ for 2x avg stack on the bubble, then lost AQ < QT for avg stack ITM. then ended up losing A8s < TT for 15bbs btn v sb.
playing event 2 tomorrow.
playing really well, must be saving my run good for the ME.
event 2:
made 1 mistake where i called a turn click-raise from an old lady when i had top set on a wet board and c/c for 1/5 pot on riv. should have folded the turn. she had it obv. then got it in a 5bet 100bb pot with AKs vs KQs against a spewy reg. im drawing dead on the turn obv. gg. proceeded to grind NL200 for the rest of the day and ended up a few BIs.
1k event tomorrow. im 0/3 in big 70/30s so far in this series. time to turn that around.
event 3. 1k FR. made a pretty spewy speculative 3bet early. didnt work out and i got pwned by a reg. didnt think he was capable. he was. another pot vs a bad live reg ended up calling down TT oop bvb on 7x89A after a flop raise. villain rolls over A9. fml. then 3bet AK in a 5way single raised pot. fish reg flats IP and ships dry Qxx flop, obv im forced to b/f for 1/5 my stack. then blinded down to 15 bigs and ran 22 < QQ. just wasn't my day.
event 4. 550 6max. made another light call down in a 3bet pot against a competent player. he had AA and i lost the minimum because he played it poorly (probably should have just folded pre though). made some great plays and chipped up to 50 bigs from. then lost a 100bb pot with 50 people left with a set vs a flush draw on the turn. then i lost JTs < AK for my last 15bigs.
only the main event left... ive got it in for 100bigs 4 times as a 70%+ fav in these events. im 0/4 in those pots. its completely standard, but this is why I could never be a live pro. it hurts so much more when u put hours of effort in getting down to the casino and 1 tabling only to get your money in as good as you possibly can and lose. bla bla end rant. looking forward to the online grind once this week is over. hoping to go out with a deep run in the main.
Know exactly how you are feeling...had few deep runs in interesting live 2-3days events and busting before FT, obv with a better hand. It is standard, as u said, but is it worth it?

I definitely think its worth it. I enjoy playing live a lot. its a nice change from the online grind and the fields are SO soft its very very +EV. I couldn't do it for a living, variance is too high and its really draining, physically and emotionally.
Yep, exactly, I also enjoy it time to time, so I definitely do like it, but as you said, I couldnt imagine playing it for living. I can imagine it, when u have a life changing win, thn it is easy to just play few live tournaments and do nothing, maybe run some business, invest money and stuff.
made day 2 of the main event with just under avg stack. played really good all day. had the massive CL moved to my direct left late in the day and he was some really good young azn kid. was not fun at all, but i survived. just gotta hope for a soft table for day 2. wish me luck!
thanks guys.
i mincashed in 29th/310. had a really tough day. couldn't get anything going early and had some tough table draws, stuck around 20-30bbs all day. managed to win some crucial flips near the bubble then lost some other flips vs short stacks ITM. eventually lost AQ < AT for my last 15bbs. the avg stack when i busted was around 20 bigs so people were super short. needed some run good and it didnt come. still really happy with my play considering its only my 2nd live series. ended up breaking even for the series, very happy.
Loving the blog
Breaking even for a series is pretty good, i wish i could do that hah but i'm way too much of a spewtard live / at NLHE.
