Hey guys!

Something to listen to:

Small update. I dont really get it, friday night (lateish) traffic was better than great, I had a mix of $30s and $20s started in no time, and on sunday I can barely get a $20 or $30 to load after 20:30. I really don't get it.

Anyway, last few days were very very +EV, had some awesome tables with insane fishes. Profit doesn't seem to show it, friday and saturday were BEish, today was a bit of a minus. Anyway, I'm not complaining as long as I'm in a pre-rb plus :)

Today I learned 7+ hours of algebra with my uni friends... feeling dead right now. Gonna grab a beer I guess. I dont really wanna go to sleep yet (I could fall asleep in 2 mins tho) cos tomorrow I just need to keep learning :(

Today I got induced with J-high again. Am I that aggro? _biggrin:

Anyway, wish me luck crushing them tests. I really need to crush to regain my confidence with the uni stuff.

My thoughts are going here and there without much consistency. Sorry about that.

So, I raked ~$170 since friday I think, which is ok. Hope I can put in another $40+ tomorrow evening, then it should be fine.

Btw, at this point part of me is glad for failing one of the most important exams last semester. I'd def had absolutely no time to play poker with 2 other courses to do. So that's a positive thing, considering Im planning on taking poker to the next level in the future. Well, not like it's decided, but it's definitely within the alternatives. Ofc I'd need to learn a lot before that. Today I had so many hard decisions and I just know I'm such a fish in a couple of spots (in 6max at least). But I just can't find the time to start studying this deeper (except for checking the tricky hands, which is a slow way of fixing leaks I guess).
Also, regardless of what the future brings I H - A - V - E to stop looking at results between sessions, during sessions, etc. Its just so hard cos I open HM to see where I stand with volume and then I wanna click those buttons :) And if I lose my profits on ipoker in one day I feel bad (which is ridiculous, I'm in like 10BI + for my avg BI, but my avg BI is also higher in the last few days, so even less than that). It's just stupid. I wish I could hide the "cashier" in betfred.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough without any sort of a particular theme or goal or whatever :f_biggrin:

Nah, one more thing. I've made a pretty big mistake against a regfish. I leveled myself into making a spewy limp/shove on the bubble (as a midstack). I already knew his scope stats wtf was I thinking? And that reminds me of the saying: "Overestimating your opponents is just as dangerous as underestimating them" or something similar.

Thanks for reading!

Another interesting post of yours. It really nice to read your blog and I won't say it if I don't mean it.By the way, everybody keeps saying that checking HEM during session is wrong.Probably yes,for beginners. How else could you check how many games you've played?I think as long as it doesn't affect your mindset,it should be fine. You have decent experience to back you up and you know shouldn't be results orientated anyway.Checking you red line after you'r finished is exactly the same thing. You either feel screwed for running minus ev or insecure about tomorrow if you are running hot.So I just try to focus on playing correctly. And of course, wish you luck with crushing them tests!

Insane fishes can be tricky opponents... Stealing blinds is impossible (maybe possible in push/fold stage) and bluffing is not really possible either. So hero is forced to play by hand strength only and that is not really situation I like to be in. Personally I like to play versus bit tighter fish and some breakeven tightish regs :)

You are being results oriented imo ;) insane fish is pretty much the only way you can double up with AKo on a dry flop in the early stage ;) my point is that it's so +EV to play vs them in the early stage. Yea it sucks that its not much in a turbo, but still. He pays you off with a T-high flush on a superwet paired board, etc etc Im sure you can imagine all this :)

And yea when you dont get these hands and need to start push/fold stealing on t100 then it becomes pretty asumptious, they can make some crazy calls. On of the reasons for my relatively low EV line :)

thanks kurrkabin, it really feels great to read this :)

I ofc KNOW that I shouldnt be results oriented but I've been running bad entire summer and I cant help it. If I start loosing my profits on ipoker I feel like crap, even tho its such a small amount I can easily loose (or double) it in one session, especially 6max. Anyway, will need to work strongly on my mindset. I think it will help a great deal if I end this month in a pre-rb plus. Will get back on the topic in november.

Hey guys!

Today I raked above expectations. Yeah. I'm almost at this week's goal and still got 3 days to go (where I will play little considering uni and tests and whatevs).
I played pretty well imo. Couldn't get my $ in the plus tho, another ~BE day.

Meanwhile, my old secondary school's teachers and workers started to protest against the planned changes in the education system and started collecting signatures. They are so fking right. Instasigned. Do you guys take part in stuffs like this or you just dont care or you care but you dont see problems or whats your attitude to this?

imo the principal kinda signed his resignation when coming out with this one :( pretty sad and hope Im wrong, he is a great person from what I know.

I dont wanna do politics here, but as a student I can tell you that my government is going too fking far with certain things. Im so glad I'm already in uni without having had to pay for it(at least so far...). Im also glad I enjoy studying something relatively cheap.

Also, you didnt comment on the song I posted. You dont like it or you just didnt care to listen to it?

Regards,
akrammon

p.s. I know this wasnt much about poker but nothing really happened. Except for one funny hand with aces, hope I wont forget to post that tomorrow.

Hey guys!

Quick update. Managed to play a pretty small amount today. I'm happy I managed to get some more rake in the game. I ran pretty bad.

I also made 1-2-3 bad plays, and I can get pretty tilted when I make an idiot play. I'm not being results oriented, I once bluffed a completely blank card when he had sd value, with all draws missed, and I made one or two stupid moves. Not like huge deals but still. Playing bad and learning from the sessionreview is one thing. Making the play and knowing you've made a bad decision the second you push the button - completely different. I'm not happy.

Also, kurrkabin was on some of my tables, which is obviously bad for my edge, but it was soooooooooo refreshing to play against someone who I know to be a good reg. Seriously, I really enjoyed the few hands we played, even though I lost postflop in most of the blindbattles (obviously he sat on my right 200% of the tables, lol).

Algebra test in 2 days. I asked the professor to give us some tasks/exercises and problems with which we can get ready, he said "everything we've done so far in class". Thanks man, big help :f_frown: But I hope the test wont be very hard, then I shall do just fine :)
JAVA test 2 hours after algebra. Cheers. Also hoping for the best on that one, a lot of my time goes on practicing java so I hope it will show results. Especially that it's not a mandatory course :) Dont get me wrong, I enjoy it a lot :)

Yeah, that was more than enough I guess. I say "quick update" then I rant on for 2 pages. lol.

good night guys

Yoo! _biggrin: Nice to see my name up here. Thanks for the good words and to make it clear- man, right after I met you in the 20$'s, I was hoping to see at my tables which is sooo sick, since you are 2 levels ahead of most the regs there and this is a pure suicide. But it was big fun, I felt like playing with a friend and money didn't matter. I took some different lines and felt in a couple of "He thinks and I think that he thinks" spots which was pretty cool. Do you remember the K2s hand BvB,where I checked the dry board with top pair to induce? I'll never usually take that line but just I felt I'm not getting more than one street value if I cbet as usual. It ended up me looking fishy, but it was funny after all :P

you didnt look fishy, I actually marked the hand and wanted to congrat you on the thin vbet on the river. I dont know what your previous thinkng was, but it didnt work cos I got sd value with the turn. anyway, vnice vbet once again :) when I look thru yesterday's hands I hope I wont forget to post it (if you dont mind).

And you are very very kind :) but dont think I can outplay you a lot, some postflop situations are my weak spot as well :P esp in 6max where ranges are different.

No,of course I dont mind.In fact I posted some hands where I am up against you. I didn't mention any names of course, so it will stay confidential. As for K2s, I got lucky you picked up the a mid pair on the turn.

I'm probably not commenting on the hands, I cant give an objective opinion. Will maybe later when the hands are a bit further in the past :)

So, today has passed. Insanely and unbelievably tired. This week's volume goal is a fail but I dont care cos rake goal is a success.

2 tests tomorrow. One very very very very VERYVERY important and one important. Hope I'll crush. Very tired today. Next play is likely on saturday but I probably wont put in big numbers since I'm already content with my possible rake race positions, will put in enough to get next vip level tho. Also, no exact rake amounts from now on to keep competition in the dark :)

Next update is not likely to happen anytime before saturday, tomorrow my second test is 4 pm - 8 pm then grabbing a beer or going to the movies, either way I wont be home early.

Seeya guys and wish me luck for tomorrow, I need to crush and pass the algebra test.

Sooooooooo...

JAVA was a big frakin' 5 (on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is fail 5 is [almost] perfect, I believe it's A in UK grading [?] ), and I really think I'm gonna pass the algebra as well. Which is YEEEEY great. The test, the algebra, wasnt hard at all compared to what we've been doing so far in class. As I've discussed with a friend of mine, if we would've gotten 6 random exercises from what we've been doing so far it would've been likely we fail (needing to solve 2 without mistakes or anything equal to that in points).

But it's greatly up to how the professor grades and gives points. I guess if he wanted to screw with us he would've simply given us a harder test. so imo we shall be fine. It can be anything from 2 to 4 imo. Anyway, I just hope I'll pass.

Off to play some poker. Not too much tho, wanna enjoy my holidays ;)

seeya guys

Great to see lively debate between soul-reading regs :)

Akrammon, would you mind pm'ing me your stars nick? Not that I play there, but want to see how the good regs are able to do in difficult games.
