So it may very well turn into an invaluable experience on how to avoid the 'the f* fish sucked out on me again' kind of tilt _biggrin:

Yeah I find that with a good fish:reg ratio you will get sucked out more often, but you will also win bigger pots more often, which works out to be +EV in the end, as you said.

Hi,

I'm seeking advice on PLO 6 handed.
Will be starting at .50/1.00 and have played up to 5/10.
I would like to play 4 tables at .50/1 and 2 or 3 higher.
I am Australian if that matters.

Thanks

As far as I know, being in Australia means you can play poker at any room. The Interactive Gambling Act specifically states that residents of Oz can play online poker.

Ok, so iPoker (like William Hill or Titan) has really good PLO traffic at nearly all limits and have a range of tables sizes (HU, 6 max and FR). Because it is PLO, the tables are likely to be pretty soft everywhere, although I havent played it myself so can't say with 100% authority which tables would be softer (and have no data to tell me either).

PLO is good for generating rake though, so I think you would do quite well on iPoker. William Hill will give you about 35% (estimate) rakeback for your first deposit bonus and Titan about 40% (not as good as SnG rakeback, but better than NLHE cash game). The VIP system for William Hill should also give you at least another 15-20% rakeback each month, with the Titan VIP scheme giving you slightly less at maybe 12-15%.

So I would generally recommend William Hill. You also get 5 SP per dollar rake on there which will help boost your status on here, plus they regularly run exclusive promos like raked hand races which you might be able to get a few extra % from.

Hope that is useful mate.

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?)

No Limit Cash Tables

2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1)

NL .02/.05

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up?

Full Ring

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month)

I play 1-8 hours per day depending on whether I have to work my day job that day.

Also important to note, I just deposited my money at Party, only to find out their .02/.04 tables suck. There are only like, 12 of them, and they're always full, or completely empty.

I like to multitable 12-16 tables, and I can't deal with 10 waiting lists and 2 active tables when I sit down to play.

I can't play at pokerstars because they disconnected my pokerstrategy points bonus from my account.

So no partypoker, and no pokerstars. I was thinking of going back to 888, since I got along fine over there.

Hey DC,

Yesterday you advised me to play on 888 (with a $888 FDB), but the FDB on their website/software is only $400! ?(
Am I missing some special deposit code or something?

If the FDB is really $400, would that mean I could better play on another room?

EDIT: Had someone from support assist me on this. After the deposit it showed a $400 bonus, he added a message to my account allowing me to get the extra $488 through chunks of $10 after clearing the $400.

This is a bit of a work around, but it shouldn't be too cumbersome!

Hey Vanderveen,

I think 888 is a good choice. The software is clean and easy to use and will support your table requirements. The traffic at your limits is really good, so you should be able to find enough games throughout the day.

You won't get a huge amount of rakeback via the VIP system, but the tables are pretty soft there, so you won't have any problems in regards to profitability.

Your other viable choice would be iPoker. You will get a greater return from their VIP system and First Deposit Bonus, plus they have equally strong traffic and usable software. The tables are not as soft as 888 however, with a lot of tight nits playing there for the rakeback alone.

Personally I would go with 888, but William Hill or Titan are also viable options for you :)

Yeah it should definitely be up to $888 fella. Their customer service seems pretty good from what I can tell from the experience of users on here!

Always useful m8!
However, I made some estimations recently. My feeling is gold on stars equal trips on wh in effort. Approximation, stars 65 bucks wh 20 bucks. But then again u think wh has a good vip program. Hope there is better ones than that. Havent check my rake at those sites and compared. Anyway, im a fl player right now and cant find tables often enough at wh, and they seem passive until u pisses some of the villains off :), not by abuse ofc, have chat off. But i wonder what u mean about good vip, maybe higher levels ? Quick example/ 100 bucks for 100k pts at wh and 50 bucks for 4.5k at stars.

Best to u, gl!

Hey Zero,

Yeah the WH VIP system has the potential to go up to a huge 75% rakeback (for SnG players, sadly less for cash game). But as VIP systems go, it is still fairly rewarding for low/mid volume players. More often than not though, if rakeback if your priority and your rake isnt enough to make a VIP system work for you, then I would suggest somewhere like PKR where you get 30% flat rakeback each month. Or, as I often say, forget rakeback and go for the softest tables you can find and increase your win-rate!

The reason for the obvious difference between Stars and everywhere else (in terms of generating rake) is that Stars have stuck to the Dealt Rake model, whereas everyone else has pretty much moved over to Weighted Contributed. For them it makes sense, as there are a lot of grinders on Stars who would be pretty annoyed if they suddenly had a load of attributed rake lost each month.

Tbh, the only real place where there is decent FL traffic is Stars atm. They recently reduced the rake on iPoker for FL, but the traffic there isnt really enough to support a real grind. You should find some tables at both Party and 888, but it wont be many I am afraid.

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?)
Super/Hyper turbo HU sngs
2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1)
5-10$

10 hours a week minimum

Mostly wondering if there is an alternative to stars.

Playing - NL HE FR NL 10-50

Plan to grind a lot ( 40 hours a week; 16-24 tables). Have only about 250$ to deposit.
Need fast BR boost.
So i need fishy tables + good promotions.

Currently thinking about ongame Red Kings exactly.
As i understand i can deposit 250$ and choose 500$ deposit bonus ( correct me if i'am wrong). + grinding a lot i have huge possibility to hit special red kings 300$ promotion.

Please give me some more advices and comment my current plan.

We dont have Red Kings as a partner, so I am not aware of which promotions they have I am afraid.

For a cash game player, needing so many tables, I would have to suggest iPoker. The tables are not the softest (still softer than Stars), but the First Deposit Bonus for William Hill and Titan are both good and you will get a good return on whatever rake you make through their VIP system.

They also have very good traffic at your limits and the software is clean and quick enough to support your 24 tables.

Mostly wondering if there is an alternative to stars.

Two main choices really (imo). One is Ongame (Betfair) who has solid SnG traffic for all table sizes and limits and the VIP system is geared towards SnG players as well.

The down sides for Ongame is a) the Essence rake attribution model, which favours losing players by giving them more rake, meaning playing tight will result in less rake (and therefore rakeback). The other negative is that the rake for HU SnGs is 10% which is fairly high.

The second would be Party. Rakeback via the VIP system wont be ground breaking, but you will get some % from it and from the FDB. They have fairly consistent traffic for HU and the competition for SnGs is softer than at Ongame.

It is possible that there are other rooms out there which would also be suitable (maybe an iPoker skin for example), but I think that the 2 above are probably your best options.

Hope that helps mate.

(i cleared my bonuses and i really hate pokerstars so that is out of the question, i am not even tracked on PS) But i have played will now on pokerstars...
I play: Turbo Sit & Go's 3.5$ full ring (sometimes MTTs), i play about 45 hours a week multi tabling about 9 to 12 tables. And i would like a good software.
I guess the room for me is partypoker but its better to consult a professional right?

Cashed out of WSOP and Titan, waiting for the money to come through moneybookers before signing up somewhere else. From what I've read here and my desire to access PS' coaching etc, think I have it narrowed to either 888 or WH. Party sounded good but as I already tested the software without using PS code, would not be able to move up in status here.

Mostly play NL10 6-max and $5-10 SnGs. Traffic seems disappointing for SnG at 888 and WH. Leaning towards 888 cos I prefered WSOP's software. Any opinions to help me make the decision? How do both sites release the bonus and how much time would they give me? Hopefully they aren't the kind of sites which demand you earn it all in a month or you get nothing. Traffic is of main concern.

Hey Stinger,

I would suggest that you try 888 out for size. Really nice software, very soft tables and strong traffic. You wont get a huge amount back in terms of rakeback, but you will still make a lot of profit from the soft tables.

Party is also an option, but again you wont get much rakeback through their VIP system and their tables are not as soft as 888.

Hey SRB,

Your sig made me laugh by the way :)

For your table requirements, I would definitely say Ongame. Their software is just about usable and they have VIP systems geared towards SnG players. Other than Stars, they have the best SnG traffic anywhere, plus the tables arent too tough.

So I would say go to Betfair, you will get a good % from both the FDB and the VIP system, plus you will easily manage to get the traffic you need to maintain your level of play.

Hi katsaridas33,

I would suggest somewhere like 888 or PKR for your volume. 888 wont give you much rakeback from the VIP system, but you will make up for it cos of the softer tables. On PKR you would have 30% flat rakeback, which I think might make more sense.

With a small number of tables being played at once, I think I would recommend PKR for overall value. It has some of the softest tables out there, you will get 30% flat rakeback each month, plus about 15-20% from the First Deposit Bonus.
