Dealt to Hero A♣ Q♥ , fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN raises to $0.90, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.60

FLOP ($1.95) J♥ A♠ 9♠

Hero bets $1.40, BTN calls $1.40

BTN wins $10.24

Villain's stats: 20 / 15 / 3.8 / 1.7 vpip/pfr/3b/af over 300 hands

Noted the villain's low 3b stat so I flat preflop and put him on on JJ+ and AQ+. Since I was pot commited on the river should I have just called the all-in bet on the river. After reviewing this hand I think I shouldn't have folded: $4.7 to win $15

Board: J♥A♠9♠ 7♠ 5♥
       Equity     Win     Tie
CO     44.44%  33.33%  11.11% { AcQh }
BU     55.56%  44.44%  11.11% { JJ+, AQs+, AQo+ }

Hello funnyclock,

Preflop: Standard fold here, you are OOP and as well don't even have a strong hand. Mostly I'd even expect him rather to have AK only here. Neither you don't beat any hands and wont hit of course enough to satisfy the Call.

As played
Postflop: Why do you donk here? Rather let him CB with his whole range. Your play practically doesn't make sense. :( And afterwards Check/Call and turn your hand into bluff-catcher where he most likely wont even bluff that often. :( I'd rather Check/Call the flop and reevaluate further actions. I just don't see any hands what we beat here doubt that he is bluffing either.

Best Regards.

Sorry but there's a few things I don't understand here:

Preflop: Isn't folding AQo to a 3bet too weak, even when OOP?

Postflop: So I check/call the flop but I still beat KK and QQ in his 3bet range, not?

Thanks again for the answer!

Too weak? What kind of hands do you expect to beat there while the guy only has 3.8 of 3bet? I would say pretty standard fold. :)

Well, as I said. We would Check/Call the flop and reevaluate it on turn not donk where he wouldn't pay us with those hands. :)
