if you only call the flop, i think you have to protect on turn.

problem with such a connected flop is of course if you check/call to make a c/r on any turn card, the turn card can scare so many villains into thinking you had a draw yourself and just completed. so i prefer a bet/reraise on this flop, or possibly a c/r (where you get value from aggressively played draws).

if you are sure he an opponent is going to bet then i would go for a checraise with the intention of going all in for 100bb otherwise i would lead and try to steak it in from the flop in this multiway pot . by calling there you give bb good odds to call with any thing like a draw ... trying to steak it in its ok

think I would push the turn and not let them have a free card , but would have expected one of the to bet

he's calling 4$ for 20$, 5:1.. 7.5:1 odds of flopping a set, so he only needs to extract something like 10$ whenever he hits on average to make it a worthwhile call...

5:1 is the odds you need , but you have put in $5 to win $15 , the fact that they are all chipped up helps with the implied odds

The probability of hitting a "set" on the flop is 10.8% or 8.26 to 1 against.

it's 4 for 20, he already has a total of 1$ in the pot, it's 4 to call..

there's also a chance of hitting quads, etc. adding to that.

my calculation just goes to show how easy a call it is preflop; you don't even need to stack them every time you flop a set to make it mass +++++EV

The probability of hitting quads on the flop, when holding a pocket pair, is 0.25% (about 399 to 1 against).

Push flop, coldcalling c/r looks extremely suspicious anyway and you do not want to see a 5 or 7 on turn.

just call preflop. raise flop/bet turn/shove river......valuepoker ftw!
