as Jonas said, BU > ALL. You don't need a reason to play a hand in that position, you need a reason not to.

Both hands abs standard.
The 1/2 hand I iso raise a limping fish with semi connected hand and K-high suite. Not strong on paper, but strong enough + powerrrr of position. after my friend in the SB 3b, the hand plays itself. vs most of his range I'm flipping on the flop. Sometimes I'm ahead 60:40. In his range almost never that low connectors to dominate me.
3/6 standard open otb. Nut suite, some connectivity, double suited. Nuts. vs 3b vs my friend who is an aggro tard, eeez call. Flop top and bottom + fd + several bd sd + bd fd. way ahead of AA, even worst case AKJT with hearts im not totally fucked. Clearly ahead vs his range, fistpump shoveaments.

Hope that makes sense.

I don't think that's possible and not what I want. Simply because my longterm plan is to reach world domination with smart friends, not random ppl obv. So all of my ventures atm are with friends. Not necessarily close ones, but still.
e.g. Max (I'm sure you heard about the scam story of the year) was a closer friend, we have been in Vegas and several weeks @ Lake in Austria etc. Ofc we also shared action @ live and online games etc etc.
Basically like I would with e.g. TLN, who is also a smart higher stakes plr. Ofc I dont know TLN or Max for 15 years, nor did I know SImo for 15 years, but in the SImo case if you help sb out sooooooooo much, you have to expect his loyalty level is waaaaaay above some random guy so obv you should be able to trust him waaaay more than average co-workers .....

My vision (ofc just semi-realistic) is to have gigantic Private Equity Company established one day who has shares on many small and medium sized companies all around the globe. Gervinho manages Dutch ventures on Dope, The Phili Crew my Asian expansion, Thazar will be CIO worldwide and I make JB head of my Insurance group, so he finally earns some real moniez after his Uni job etc etc

I know so many smart ppl personally, why not try to get things going with them, rather than randoms? So you simply have to trust them at one point. With both companies I am starting atm I have friends as partners in the ltd. I dont see it as a bad thing, rather a good one cuz I can trust them more, I know them personally and their skills.

Ofc, there is alwas a lot of money on the line, if you wanna make it big, there is no way around money.

Absolutely. But here you are talking about business. And from what I understand, you didn't really have much of a business relationship with Simo as he simply was nowhere near your level, but that was rather a friendly relationship or am I wrong? It's a different thing with Max as there is a lot of money involved and you are both high stakes players. And it's a completely different thing with people you plan to achieve world domination with, but you already know that. I was mostly talking about people you hang out with for fun and pleasure and that come from the poker world and you don't know them for 5+ years.

kk I see your point. well Poker wise i defintely had a "business" relationship with simo. stakings (cg & mtt), coachings.

overall i dont strictly divide fun / business. I try to all combine it in my life, but ofc I see your point! Valid arguments, ofc all experiences make me wiser and smarter. Still sometimes it seems to be you play/act MaxEV and still there is absolut nothing you can do when things go wrong.

Now off to Mindfucker Crew Meeting. Ship iiiit Homegame :f_love:

I think taking a general view in determining between friendship/trust/business/money blabla is kinda not the right way to go.. I think I prefer your mindset TT, I also realise tht your mindset on the matter probably took a good hard bashing recently.

However, as poker players, we trust our reads.. in life asin poker. It's all we have to go by, we're not always right but we are confident in the long run we'll make the optimal +EV decision. Yeah no ones perfect and not everyone is a trustworthy person.. all we can hope for is that in the future, we run on the right side of variance and s**t like this doesn't happen again.

GL as always

TT's mindset is definately the best one. Chances that you are getting scammed by friends is much lower because you built up a much better relationships compared to people you hardly know. The downside is that when they hit/scam you it hurts you such much more cause obv you not only lost a bunch of money, you also lost a good relationship + faith in general friendship etc.

Still, there is nothing we can do about this. If your goal is to become a really big business man you will have to face this sometime. Although there is room for improvement in this field as well. We can try to the lower the chances on getting scammed just by experience/'soulreading' people etc. But scams will always be there, even if you are very good friends. Just see it as a bad beat and move on. You wont get to the top when you lose trust in people, because you NEED them to get there.

If you want high rewards, expect a high risk.

Anyways gl with your quest TT, we are setting up some business real soon as well so venture-incoming waduuup :f_cool:?

wow, so many things going on, i hardly can follow everything.

few things i wanted to say out loud on scamming theme in general:

I think there are at least 2 groups of ppl that cheat/scam: 1, bigtime selfish gamblers with no morals who just take immediate shorterm benefit before any other longterm consideration (possibly Girah, Max?) 2, for some reason a longertime RL "losers" w some sort of mental blocks who just dont know other ways (Simo?)

My take is that group 1 should be just beated to blood and thrown into jail. period. Group 2 is a bit more difficult to judge imo. Simo is not a spineless pig, i know that for a fact. He is just trapped in his past. Idk the details, but it's easy to keep running away from ur own feeling of shame/guilt. Anyone who saw the movie Catch me if you can, prolly knows what I am trying to get across here. The biggest problem w these ppl is forcing them realize they need to be honest w themselves and their close friends AT ALL COSTS. The ppl made big big mistakes in life, there is no easy way around. It's going to take a lot of tough effort for them to fight for their credibility/image/good lifestyle. To make this journey all alone is I think totally impossible.

Personal experience: I interrupted high school for 3years in the last year(even tho i was 1 of the top5 in the year and it was the best high school in the country, so by no means i am a slouch at studying, in fact i had an excellent shot at full scholarship at ivy leage unis) before finally getting back to final exams since i was questioning purpose of life. I was too tired of living tedious life and I was on the verge of suicide. My mental state was downright in shambles and I just run away from almost all of my responsibilities. I spent a lot of my parent's money. I traveled around mid Europe w nobody knowing where i was, just using credit cards to cash. I talked to homeless ppl on streets and almost got beaten up badly. I attended many spiritual seminars and studied religions "fulltime" while also playing chess. This is only thing i did for the best of 3years. That's my story, i eventually moved ahead. How was it? My family and basically 2 other best friends helped me in the end. Ppl i most hurt and i even feared to look them in the eye still found the love for me to give me another chance.

For anyone in the trouble: u need people!! Never give up on honesty. Admit u re a piece of shit and u don't deserve other than ppl slabbing and spitting on u! Admit u need help and look for the ppl who can give u help. Don't look for 1 person. Everyone has his treshold which when u pass, they just are so mad at u, they will not help u for a while anymore, just look for the positives in anyone and be hard on urself in not giving in ur former fears. Forget of what ppl think of you, just do what u have to do to get ur life on a decent track again and have that mission before u, only that ntg else. Moments when u come close to death or just utter humiliation are so good for life lessons since u finally can start taking ur freaking life srsly! U have 1 chance, 1 life! It's over soon u know, better make it good than feel sorry when u re old.

@TT: oh sir, u re the man rly! I rly appreciate ur communicating and social skills so much. U re blending so many ppl for so many good things. As Jonas said, i think, these bad things are bumps on the road which make us realize that we are walking. And u indeed are walking very fast, imo try to rly accept the value of these things from the positive side, even if at first glance it might seem there is none. U re so much stronger everytime this kind of shit happens, i know for good. U re a monster RL beast now! I know how many issues u re dealing with on regular basis and that life has been tough on u, but i think, we are seeing a great man and a leader for many in the making. Be strong and get strong!

@ur vids w vonki: actually i watched 1 when tired last week and i rly liked all the components of the vid, i esp liked how easy u re to communicate the points u want to make abt the hand. U dont waste time repeating things many times and u always stress the most crucial things instantly, very good clear explanations relevant to the limit +a very good interaction w ur partner vonki, i loved how u let her make her points on the hand and alw ask her proper questions, i can imagine micorstakers must be loving this! Only thing i ve seen as a downside was the selection of the hands, i am not sure which vid it was, but it had purely moster valuehands and she even played them correctly mostly, so i was wondering if she couldnt pick some more difficult spots.

Anyway gl in everything and plllls next time let me know abt the homegame :f_cry: :f_love: my gf said she ll be dealing all night for almost negligible rake
