To beat 100nl by end of next summer.
Been Playing Poker On off and on for around 4 years, it all started with 1-2$ games with couple of mates from UNI, then progressed to 5-6$ live STT's at my house. Then progressed to online, then I found pokerstrategy.com, which opened my eyes to a whole new world of poker.
I currently have a problem with keeping my poker bankroll in my poker account and not withdrawing it when it reaches a certain amount. Since I make only like 700$/month in my IRL job, ( I live in Lebanon so its a livable monthly wage) My goals for 2012 and for the coming future , should be to keep my bankroll in my poker account since when it reaches to something like 1300 I withdraw it all
and spend it on luxuries. I also have a problem of tilting hard when a fish outdraws me when im a 75% favorite on flop, for example my set vs his Flush draw, or my set vs his TPTK he gets runner runner FH. Tilts me so hard I start playing 100 $ HU, when i'm only playing NL20/FR/SH and $1-$6 NL MTT's ATM @ 888 Poker. I also have a problem with trying to out play fishes oop, I tend to call and raise too loosely in order to isolate them and out play them, then I get 3bet and fold
easy leak there. I also want to solve my problem with overplaying AA post flop on QKJ boards, and over pairs on connected low boards 9810 or 258 .
These past few months I feel I have grown as a player, I feel my love and passion for the game is growing endlessly. Its the game I want to play when I wake up in the morning 8:00 AM, its the game I want to play before I sleep. Its the game I love so dearly to my heart I would do anything to become a Poker Player for a living. Since I feel I have the passion, dedication, and the HEART!(Thx Tony G) to succeed and face the hard downswings/ long hard game studying/time commitment. Even tho I have a 9-5 Job, I still managed to reach Platinum Status which I'm so dearly proud of. It feels I'm on top of the world, fist pump heaven. When I outplay someone on the tables ,I feel rewarded, I 8-12 table so this happens a lot :O(Prior to the 8 Table restriction on 888 Poker.) Every time I wake up on a Saturday, or just get off of work, this is how I feel ,about going to play poker. ( you know when you have a girlfriend, and you haven't seen her in 1 weeks or 1 month, you miss her so so much and just want to hug her and kiss her and love her and talk to her) This is how I feel about poker when I haven't played it for 1 day or 8-10 hours. I truly enjoy watching user reviews and videos from your coaches. People like TwiceT are sick and teach you a lot of things even from watching him play. He was destroying the NL50 SH tables on 888 poker , and I was like WoW this is sick I wish I could play like that. The truth is, if I put enough effort into it, we all are capable of doing it. You just have to sacrifice the time to study/analyze/ your game and dedicate yourself to the game.
I want to take some private coaching lessons with someone proficient in micro stakes BSS/FR/SH.I also want to start reading more books. Just bought Harrington on Holdem 6max Cash game book,I want to sit at least 1 hour everyday reading and re reading that book till I implement everything in it into my game. As poker is an investment for me, the more time I spend learning the game, the more I am rewarded in the long run.
I hope I can be crushing NL100 by the end of 2012 Q3/Q4, and in the future hopefully grind enough money to play in the Casino NL2/5$ games since they are so effing soft.I need around at least $12.5k to play there, funny since all the rich kids that have no clue about poker play there since their pappies pay for it.
I also hope to try reach Diamond status this month in order to be able to go to the Diamond event taking place soon :O. Would be so sick, and my first trip to Europe in like 5 years.
Anyways I really spent a lot of time writing this from the top of my mind, hopefully I run good and accomplish my goals . Hope to see all you Diamond members @ Germany!!!
Best of Luck to All @ the Tables,
Take Care.

I'm playing poker for 6 years now, and I think I'm definitely getting better and better. My main game is online sh cash game now, I only concentrate on this. The last half year was a learning for me, with much tilting and shit, but from 2012, my goal will be to be much more reliable player. I want to stop emotional thinking absolutely, what sometimes still occours, so I won't throw money out of the window. I think I've learned poker's basics, so I'm ready to go for serious play. My goal is to play 30k hand every months, beat NL25 constantly with 3+bb/100 on a long term. I will go for some FD bonuses in addition. After NL25, I would like to carry on, and jump to NL50. For that time, I should be completely free of emotions in poker, and I would like to play a lot of hands on this level, to figure out, what I'm capable of. IF I'm confortable enough, and have 4k$ br at least, I would like to conquer NL100 SH on PS, 6 tables. I would start with 3-4 tables, starting to adapt to the limit, and my main goal is, that in the end of 2012, I would like to be a succesful NL100 grinder, so I can make good money from poker, and start thinking about being a full time player. Big, but achievable goals, I think. If you don't have high goals, you won't achieve anything, I'm pretty sure in that.
My goal to 2012 will be to follow my dreams. Dreams need always money and thats why I step in to poker. Easy money.
I stepped in to poker couple moths ago and started learning and playing poker. Then happended two things. Firstly I understood that poker was not easy, and its a good thing that playing winning poker is not easy.
And I fell love with poker.
I am gona invested my time to poker. To develop as a player and better man.
At the moment I am playing plo2/plo10, but I am gona crush the micro stakes in 2012 and gona move at least plo100. The most important thing is that I can play winning poker in plo100 and my mental skills are very strong!
This all I will achieve using pokerstrategy.com study materials like articles, videos and coaching sessions. I have also a Jeff hwang Pot Limit Omaha book that I will read intimately.
That is my goal with Omaha, I have goals to achieve with NLH HU and MTTs
NLH HU:
Gona read Collin Moshman No limit holdem heads up book intimately.
I will also go through strategy.com heads up videos. I will deposit little Heads up roll also and gona move up to NL100/NL200 with skills and bank roll.
MTT:
My goal is to learn to play tournaments and I am going to win entrance to some big live tournament somewhere in the world.
I am gona do this with strategy.com study materials!
I'll have a go at this,it seems fun.
I thought about a neat poker goal and i came up with an extreme abstract one,yet quintessential: day-by-day improvement.Better yourself every day.Imagine yourself from today meeting yourself from yesterday. If you play a hypothetical game of poker with him and you have no edge, you've just wasted a day.Spend all of your time (or at least the time you dedicate to poker) on gaining an edge on yourself and surely an edge over your opponents will soon emerge.I know this sounds so cliche, and believe me,i hate cliches, but this is true.I should mention again that this is an extreme abstract goal, but it's mine: To gain an edge on my past-self every day from this day forward.
And remember: SHIP IT!
Can't Stop Wont Stop
First thing I notice in this thread is a picture of Pius Heinz with the caption “Do you want to become the next Pius Heinz in 2012?” The answer to that question is simply NO! I want to be remembered as an individual the next Me!.
My goal for 2012 is the year I will make my mark at the poker table. Not only do I want to climb the limits with a nice ROI,no I want to crush each and every limit as I move up.I want to demolish each limit I go through that even regs begin to question their own ability in the game.Crush the limit so hard, players dread to see me, try to avoid me.
2012 will be the year you remember me! The year I come to crush each and everyone of your souls. Not the year that you will remember me as the guy that was full of talk with no plan of execution, but the guy who followed through with sheer determination through the thick and thin that lays ahead in the road of poker and lets be real its not gonna be an easy task, quite the opposite actually.Come to think of it, I don't remember anyone ever mentioning it was easy to begin with.
2012 is the year you need to realise your full potential. Come 31st December 2012 where will you be?The exact same place you are right now?Still making the same dead beat goals you failed at before you really even started like all those other years, never really gave a 100% to? 2012 can be the year you hope for it to happen or the year You make it happen. Come December 31st 2012 with hard work and determination I know where Il be,the question is where will You be?Don't let fear stand in the way of your goals and dreams.
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there ~ Will Rogers
You see my goals there are no limits. I'l reach my goal when I reach my full potential, when I know I gave it my all, used up every last ounce of strength inside me to make it. With that said this will still need to be achieved by a plan. Each month I will set specific goals(minimum amount of games, certain amount of article, review games, amount of coachings etc). Once specific goals have been set that month then its time to execute the plan of action.
What will push me to succeed in my goals?Well to put it plain and simple regret. 20 – 30 years from now I know for a fact I wont be able to look at myself in the mirror knowing I didn't give it my all. Asking myself what if... 20 – 30 years from now I don't want to be average. Working a 9 to 5 like some sort of mindless drone. Poker for a living is far from average, and far from average fits me perfectly.
I'l finish this post in the words of the great Tupac Shakur "If you don't ever learn nothing, learn one thing, it don't stop till the casket drops."
Hello everybody!
In January 2012 I am returning to pokertables a little bit seriously than before. The only downside - it's at nontracked poker room. I am playing there for a while and growing my bankroll, improving my game and poker mindset.
It's February and FTP comes back with all my roll still there. From this moment, i start to play exclusively at FullTiltPoker.
Days pass and i am on my A-game, focused and crushing. I'm outplaying every fish and outleveling every regular. Weeks go by and I am taking shots, climbing stakes and I'm confident on my decisions. In all this crazy poker action, I'm not falling behind at University.
It's first days of summer and i earned a ticket to WSOP ME. I am so excited - I feel like i'm 6 again, when i got my first Lego. For all this excitement, I'm playing bad poker and losing buy-ins. Need to play with my Legos to calm down - It's super effective!
Flying to 'MERICA.
Sitting at my table, poking my ipad2. 30 hands - and i'm out. Hey, at least i was ahead when the chips went in.
Back home. Vacation is over - time to grind.
Outumn - finally Diamond.
December - Finale table in Latvian Poker Championship Main Event.
Last days of December - World is still here.
TLDR: Diamond in outumn.
2012 is gunna be an interesting year for me because i finish university and then have to decide what to do with my life. i know for a fact it will start with using as much of that freedom to play as much poker as possible. im going to get a big monitor to multitable on and i will love it.
had to decide against putting poker aside in my third year so far because i cant stop thinking about it so it distracts me anyway. i cant stop thinking about how good it will be when i actually make even a little spending money from it ♦ my main goal is therefore to be at nl50 by the end of 2012. currently on nl10
not sure how that will go but i am going to really work on my game and make lots of notes on the articles.
what i would really like to do is make a nice amount of money and treat my parents to a holiday somewhere nice and hot, not only as a thank you for putting up with me and helping me financially at uni, but also to say "this is why i play poker!" because unfortunately for me my mum doesnt/won't understand why i play poker until i do something like that.
so yeah, goals:
:spade:Make it to NL50 (at least)
:heart:Be well on my way to buying my parents a holiday with poker $$$
:diamond:Make a bit of spending money to treat myself for all this work
:club:Make sure poker does not leave my life because i love poker ♦

Hello !
I started playing poker without knowing whether the straight beats the flush or the opposite. So, i donated some 10 euro paysafe cards. I was thinking that i am very good and the others were just lucky, until i started to learn some strategies. Then i found pokerstrategy and i started to play STTs on Full Tilt with the 50$ bankroll that i was given. My bankroll was growing on a slow rate, i almost tripled it and then Full Tilt closed. I stopped playing poker for about 3-4 months.... then i logged in pokerstrategy and i saw a message that is was saying that i had the opportunity to take a free 50$ bankroll on Everest Poker. So, i decided to start playing poker again. This time i started playing cash games from NL2. Right now i am playing N10 at pokerstars and it is going good at the moment.
My 2012 goals are:
- Start playing NL50 (at least) in the year.
- Putting more volume . (1,5k hands/session)
- Play my first sunday million. (via satelite of course ♦)
- Make a good extra income with poker.
PS. If your 2012 goal is to continue crushing NL1000, go and buy an iPad2 to yourself.♠_cool: You can easily buy it. ♦
(Sorry for my bad English)
My goal for 2012 is to have fun! and win lots of money 1.000.000.00 $$$ with this brilliant game called poker.
Spoiler

YEEHAAAAAAA!!! ♦
GO GO GO! BRING ON RUN GOODAMENTS!!!
I was introduced to poker in 9th grade (4 years ago) when some hockey friends invited to play for $10. I was hooked ever since and kept losing my $10 everytime we played lol. Eventually I deposited $20 into stars to play some double or nothings. I lost that too.
After a long journey of losing money, I started showing a profit with cash games and SNGs. Turns out that I'm a way better tournament player than cash game player so I decided to deposit $200 and take a crack at it
Long story short, I made roughly $1000 in 2 weeks. I decided to take out some money but I took out too much, hit a downswing and went broke!
My goals for 2012:
-Take the money I receive during the holiday season/birthday and invest in PS
-Crush all 180 man turbos available!
-Win a major tournament ♦
-Crush some cash games (NL100+) --> I invested too much time in cash games to go on with my life without crushing them.
-MOVE OUT OF MY PARENTS HOUSE (I'm 19 January 17th)
I've been playing poker for 2 years now and it's only now that I have grasped some understanding on how hard it actually is to get to the top and that you have to work really really extremely hard on your game to ever become even near the top players.
A year ago I used to believe I was a poker god and that there is little that I need to improve on. I played SNGs and small MTTs at the time and had quickly read through most of the articles, thinking I have gained all the necessary information to make a lot of money playing poker. And so I started grinding on Full Tilt Poker. My poker graph up until Black Friday fed my ego tremendously:
![]()
Even now I am still not sure about whether or not my success on FTP was just plain luck, or variance, or the extremely soft 90man KO tournaments. I guess I will never know. But one thing I do know - my present poker graph tells quite a different story despite me actually studying the game every once in a while lately:
![]()
This is how my poker career has been since the closure of FTP. It has been a huge blow to my confidence and ego. A necessary one, but still painful.
I'm positive about this though: I no longer overvalue my skills. In fact over the last few months It has become clearer and clearer to me that I am not as good a player as I think - even worse, I am actually easily exploitable and have many leaks. Because of this I have started working heavily on my game by downloading the trial version of HEM2, which I'll probably buy, and by frequently going over my trouble hands, as well as posting them here on the hand evaluation forum. The judges are probably tired of me and my additional questions already.
My poker goals for 2012 is to only concentrate on my performance, and not the results. I want to establish a healthy routine of analyzing my sessions, posting all the hands I'm not sure about on the forum (and there is so many if them), attending coachings and, if my bankroll permits it, hire even a personal coach maybe. I won't be able to do it without pokerstrategy.com, that's for sure.
