Hello my names Johnny ACES Cabral A.K.A JBCD71 online. My poker goals are to be the best in the world.I have been playing off and on since i was a kid.Winning home games and private games.I got the name ACES from playing poker in a private tourney,i had gotten Aces 4 times in a row..the guys thought i was cheating.I was shocked myself. The fourth time was crazy sic.Whats even sicker i was done to a short stack at the time and came back to win the tournament after the incident, for sure it was a huge turning point without question. Its a day i will always remember ...i seek for the rush and great feeling of recieving that scenario again.Who knows it may happen or strike at anytime. Those of us who have played the game a long time know damn well in poker anything can happen. For me thats whats so special of the game..the roller coaster ride you get on sometimes and everything seems to go just perfect like a master piece...and then just then the game is sooooo much fun..your in the zone.In 2012 i look more to trying to have fun playing the game and not think about the money so much and focus on just playing my A game and have fun...the real reason i play poker, because of the love for the game and passion.I hope to get the chance to play live and meet the social part of the live industry ,make new friends around the world and share the same passions and love for the game.Listen to eachothers stories and learn from eachother.I look forward to playing live for the first time playing serious poker and meeting great new people along the way and new friends. And of course it will be a great plus if i could have soome success and be noticed for my skill and talents. And most of all continue to not stop learning the game.See you at the felt JBCD71 aka Johnny ACES Cabral

My goal for 2012 is going to be to make sure I enjoy playing more and laugh off bad beats and bad luck. Too often this year I have played well then hit a little bump where maybe my AA got beat by K7s and I let it affect me too much not just for that game but sometimes for the next few days.

So basically my goal is to have a positive attitude whenever I play in 2012.

hi
i have very big plans for 2012.in 2011 i grinded on fulltilt but they closed it and took all my money.

i made some pretty good profits in 2011 by playing STT turbo.now i want to start over because i learned a lot from my mistakes.for example i can handle a bad run easier,i realised how hard is when you don't have money for poker so i will play a lot more and of course not playing poker i studied and descovered how many things take to be a profesional poker player.

first i will start by playing 7$-15$ STT turbo on poker stars(if i get staked).if i start this i will set some goals.the goals will refer to how many games per mounth, how many hours of studing.i don't want to set goals on limits or how much money to make.i will climb a limit when i feel cofident enough and have a BR that will allow me to play it.

i know that poker requiers a lot of hard working but now i am willing to do it.i am motivated and i will give all i can.living from poker is the best option for me.it will take time but by the end of 2012 i think i will achive it.

- get some coaching (January)
- buy a bonus with points and clear it
- move out of NL2
- by the end of 2012, be grinding NL10
- by the end of 2012, be at least Silver Star on a consistent basis
- not continue to be the King of the Failed Poker Goal

Reasonable goals I think...

Many goals I plan to achieve in 2012.

Finish NL beginners course asap.
Work on crushing NL5 limit by Jan/Feb.
Grind bankroll for NL10/25 tables and play those for the rest of the year, or however long it takes for me to feel confident about moving up limits (if BR allows for it).

and another one, which i'm not sure i will be able to complete is to play atleast 1,000 hands each day. I have a pretty tight schedule so it will be interesting to see if i have the strength and will power to get this done every day

btw dont give me the ipad! I will be stuck to it!

(jks would love an ipad haha just can't afford one on a students budget :()

My goals are easy...

I must be realistic rather than putting myself under pressure to achieve my goals.

ATM im playing $3.5 STT/SNG, and my 1st 2012 goal is to play $15 limit.
2nd is paying credible coach to improve my game in STT/SNG.

Achieving these goals will make me very happy, and if u decided to giv me the iPad, my wife will be really happy :)

Long term goal is to play $100 STT,SNG limit.

im an architectural student (2nd course) here in the Philippines...

i play nl 5/10 around 2 hours a day during week days and about 8hrs on the week end... thou i have been liesurely playing online tournament poker for sometime now i could never produce a profit (tilting, bad bankroll management)... not until i shifted to cash games that i was able to see my bankroll have a steady increase... it has been a month since i shifted to cash games and i am up by $600...

$600 is not much to some of the players here but in my country it is enough to pay for my tuition and live a confortable life until i graduate... (or maybe until i increase my limit/profit that i'll have no choice but to play poker full time ($600 a month is already 3x the minimum wage worker gets))

GOAL: $600 a month
still be able to pass all the classes im taking up

and yes an ipad2 will can help me in my studies... hahahahaha

(to online poker players... if you want a change of scenery live here in my country, $600 a month makes you a rich man, $1200 a month and your a very rich man, $2400 a month... you can give me $500 and still be richer than a very rich man :))

first of all i started playing poker almost 7 yrs ago got broke almost 3 times and stop playing again for a few years and i found the pokerstrategy site at 2008 started to play the free 50 at fulltilt i have good roll at fulltilt for almost a month eventually got broke again with bad bankroll management. and guess what!! i stop playing for a few years again. late 2011 i started playing again i deposited in almost every pokerstratgy depositors freeroll in the poker rooms which iam tracked at good promotion :).

my poker goals for 2012 is just simple.

i will have the skill or the ability to play profitable poker especially in n.l cashgames. and also i want to beat nl 25 and nl 50.
so far iam playing in nl 10 not making enough profit! wanted to make online poker a living beating the n.l 10 would be terrific! for me. thats my goals i want my goals to be realistic, dont dream for impossible ones. like i did before and dint come true! in the end it just destroy my game!.

My only goal for next year is to find a game type and stick with it over a large enough sample! I too often leave something half way and never get enough of a sample to know how I'm actually doing!

How do you stick to your goal when you have a bad run? How do you hang in there when the game is getting tougher? What has stopped you from sticking to your goals in the past? Why is this goal important to you? Can you think of a goal you achieved and how were you able to keep at it? Why do you think goals are important in poker?

My goals for 2012:

:spade: Move from NL10 to NL25 by the end of 2012. (This should take roughly 1250-2000 hours of play at my current limit and amount of tables I can handle, pending Lady Variance)
:spade: Keep a disciplined and conservative BRM of 50-100 BI so bad runs will not send me down a limit quickly.
:spade: Spend at least 10% of my poker time to research strategies/videos and analyze hands I have played to plug leaks and improve my play.
:spade: Purchase a 2nd monitor for more multi-tabling as EV allows. My current monitor fits 6 comfortably and 9 works but is hard on the eyes.
:spade: Workout daily or every other day so I am both physically and mentally prepared for the poker tables.
:spade: Win the Ipad2 so I can turn it into my 2nd monitor when the time comes.

I am taking a serious attempt at poker and would like to become a pro in the future. This goal is important to me because I want to prove to myself that I can compete at the highest level and hold my own. Poker is like a business and a business without goals will find it difficult to be successful. For this reason, I think that goals are extremely important for a successful poker player.

Would like to move up and be a long term winner, at least at the NL100 level, as the money I could earn there would make a sizable difference to my life.

After I discovered pokerstrategy in college and basically fell in love with poker, I had to step it down a notch after starting work at an investment firm... so now I don't have enough time to grind the micro stakes, but as I still really love the game and believe in my reasonably fishy ability, every time there is a big donkfest tournament (like the miniftops), I deposit a hundred bucks or so, hoping to hit it big. So far I have a few mincashes and such, quite frequently losing big all-ins (in the money) with the better hand...

So my goal is to keep playing these huge field MTT's and hopefully hit it big... the plan is to win something over $10k so I can make it to the WSOP without having to pay out of my own pockets

Maybe, just maybe, get to the stage where I don't have to withdraw all my bankroll - yet again - to pay bills. Sigh. :f_cry:
