Hi HighLevelAK and thank you for the kind words. I look at this project of mine as like one would look when starting up a small business or something like that. You can't really know for sure that it's going to work but you know that you want to give it your best in order to make it happen. If I fail I can always get a normal job...

I don't know anything about Poker Heaven but if you are not that experienced I would suggest starting with HU SNG rather than HU Cash.

Take care a good luck,
Stefan

Yellow boys and girls.

It's 4:30 AM at the moment and I've recently finished my grind for the day. Not a very profitable day but I am super happy with the volume, played 71 games at he 15s level today and also super happy that I had the will to keep going although I was down $137 at one point. I finished the day down $57 which means around 4 BIs. I was up more than 6 BIs on Monday though so overall a decent start to the 15s level. Hope it will continue this way the following days.

Tomorrow I plan to make it a big day, I'm not sure how early I will be able to wake up but don't have any other plans except poker + my gf is going to her company's Christmas party or whatever so I will focus only on poker for the entire day. Hope I don't run bad :f_biggrin:

Yeah, and since I don't want this blog to be all about my stats and my boring comments about poker/life I leave you with this beautiful song from a Romanian band I really like for a long time now :f_love:

Good night and good luck :f_thumbsup:

Indeed i will stick with HU SnG since i like it most and i'm doing it pretty smooth in good days. I know that i just have to make myself a schedule or something like that, based on a fix number of games per session.
For example i want to play 30 games per day and if got more time will play another 10 or 20 but not less. And will try not to play more if i'm on minus for example, because then i will just play to get loss back and you start to play very weird and make calls with cards that you normally wouldn't.

Need to study more and also try to analyze some playing hands.

Best of luck mate!
Florin

P.S.
And because you've mentioned about music, i will post something that will remind you something:

It's incredible how they managed to sing it in Romanian language. All my respect!! _love:

I kinda forgotten about this. Yeah Manowar deserves all the respect for singing that in 16 different languages. I don't think anybody else would bother to do that ever again.

Hi, I've a couple of questions. I'm planning on playing on everest micro HUsngs - structure $1 + 0.10 (the rake is high I know, doing it to clear a bonus so I took this into account). The structure is fast - 4 min blind levels and I was wondering whether ~ 100 buyins will be enough for me to sustain any brutal downswings.

Im new to HuSnGs and will be playing basic poker until push fold stages where Im confident

thank you

It is ok, at low stakes you can easily get very good edge

At low stakes even 25 BI is enough. The opposition is so bad that you will have atleast 70-30 edge in every match.

Also it is good to sit first. Or you can use sharkscope to search your opponent to increase edge

Hi martoman2k10,

Thanks for dropping by. 100 buyins should be more than enough for HUSngs, play a few and see exactly how you can handle them. I'm not sure what's the next level on everest, if they have $2+ 0.20 or $3+ 0.30 but if you feel comfortable enough with your game you can move to higher stakes so you can clear your bonus faster. In my opinion anything more than 30 buyins is safe enough for lower stakes.

Best of luck,
Stefan

Hey guys,

It's been a couple of days since I posted here and I was planning on posting an update this morning but overslept and when I woke up at 1pm I wanted to go straight to playing as I need the volume by end of the year.

Last week was not that fun, the 15s didn't treat me so well so I've played a few other variants on the side. Also my gf was on holiday on Thursday and Friday so I couldn't devote as much to poker as I would have wished for those two days... Anyway, here are my stats for the first week of $15 HUsngs

Stats from Week 4

HU SNGs: 242
ROI%: -4.9%
ITM: 49.6%
Winnings: $-176.40
Time Played: 27.8 hours
$/hr: $-6.34

And the graph

So yeah, down about 12 Buyins. Not that terrible now that I think about it, considering it's my first week at this limit.

On the other side, I've played a couple of those $5 + $5 bounty +$0.5 HU mtt tournaments that run every hour at past 15 and manage to get lucky in one of them for $288 plus $40 in bounties. Graph below

Apart from that, played a couple of donkaments without any results, a couple of hands on HU cash and some hundred hands on PLO 6max just for the fun of it.

Also, managed to luckbox in the local pub tournament for £190 profit on Saturday which was really nice. So, I kinda have mixed feelings about last week, I do want to keep going with the 15s HUsngs until I can become a steady winner at those and then see what happens.

That's it for now.
Cheers,
Stefan

Hello guys,

My second week playing the 15s it's now over and I can say it was a bit better then the first one. I can't say I can beat them yet but I think I am on the right path

Stats from Week 5

HU SNGs: 239
ROI%: 3.6%
ITM: 54.0%
Winnings: $127.62
Time Played: 24.0 hours
$/hr: $5.32

I will continue to play these until the end of the year and my targets are now mostly volume wise

:club: Get platinum status at PokerStrategy - 616 points needed
:club: Get at least 5000 VPPs in total on PokerStars - 551 needed

:spade:Get at least 164 HUSNGs (15s) to make sure the two targets above are met :f_biggrin:

Take care,
Stefan

Hi guys,

My 2 targets for the last days of the year are now achieved and I will stop now and take a break until, well... tomorrow. I hope that I've correctly calculated my strategy points for the last 2 days and I will actually get platinum status at the beginning of next week.

Happy New Year everybody!

Stefan

Yaay! Platinum status baby! I barely made it, looks like I got 2 502.59 SPs last month so just about enough to get this wonderful status => 8 new HUSNGs videos that I've never seen before.

Hello boys and girls,

It's time for another update. Last week was pretty decent for me in terms of volume and although I haven't won a lot I feel that I'm finally very comfortable on playing the 15$ games and it doesn't affect me that much that I can be almost 100$ down in a session just by losing 6 games. So, this is the graph for last week on the 15s level.

Stats from Week 6

HU SNGs: 150
ROI%: 2.3%
ITM: 53.3%
Winnings: $52.4
Time Played: 18.7 hours
$/hr: $2.8

Unfortunately I've not played only 15s and only HUsngs last week/year so the overall I've won less money that I would had if was only playing those. But I won't get into details now it's just a lesson to be learned.

Overall my graph for 7s and 15s over the last 6 weeks looks like this

Not great but also not that bad in my opinion, it was only the beginning and I think that I can only get better.

For 2012 I don't really have long term goals as you never know what's going to happen in the future but I will try to get as much volume as possible in case I decide to go for supernova or something like that later in the year. Don't think it's possible by playing the 15s but should be pretty easy by playing the 30s, 60s, 100s or who knows, maybe even bigger games. For the moment I will set up as a goal for this month to get around 5000 VPPs.

Also, I do plan that at least a quarter of the games I play this month to be at the 30s level.

Might also take some shots in the new TCOOP events but there's still a few weeks to go until then so I will have some more time to think about it.

All right, that's it for now. Take care and good luck!

Hi daun,

I play one table only but since I don't have any other source of income I can devote a lot of time to poker. I think I can play 50-70 HUsngs turbo in a normal day :) and I'm trying to play more in the future.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hello boys and girls,

It's time for my weekly update. I've spent a lot of time playing last week as I really need to withdraw some money in the near future and still need to clear ~£140 from the first deposit bonus before I do that - I don't want to give money away. I did watch a couple of videos available to platinum+ and I do plan to watch the rest of them in the next couple of weeks. Definitely will study more once I clear the bonus.

I started the week playing the 15's as usual and gradually started to move to the 30's. The traffic seems to be lower, especially at late night/early morning hours so I still get in some 15s from time to time. But for the moment I plan to play as much of the 30s as possible, the players are more or less the same and I can release the bonus faster.

Here's how it went

the 15's

the 30's

Stats from Week 7

HU SNGs: 320
ROI%: 3.7%
ITM: 54.1%
Winnings: $267.8
Time Played: 43.7 hours
$/hr: $6.13

Although I had higher expectations when i started this project, I can say now that I am fairly pleased with my progress after 7 weeks. I started playing the $7 buy-in games and now I am pretty comfortable playing the $30 buy-in games which for me is quite a lot. That being said, my game is far from being as good as I want it to be but this for me is just a reason for optimism. It only means there's a lot room for improvement and I am eager to become better and better.

For now the plan is to:
- grind the 30s +15s when the traffic is lower at the 30s until I release the bonus
- withdraw some money for rent and other stuff hopefully without having to go back to the 15s. I figure I need around $800 in my bankroll to be able to play the 30s but I will switch back if for some reason I go under $600.
- start analyzing my sessions more and start studying more about shoving/calling ranges.

That's all for the moment, a new week starts now.

Take care,
Stefan
