Tell us your 2012 poker goals & you could win an iPad 2

Hey all.
My goals are:
Win a mtt with over a thousand participants
Turn 25$ to 25K playing PLO
Play vs one of my idols (Lex Veldhuis) and outplay him big time.

Finally, after some deliberate planning and calculating I've concluded, that I can finally start living from poker. These last months I've spent on preparations (putting in volume to see my real ROI, accumulating reserve money in case of a downswing, etc.). Now for the goals and plans:
Find a suitable flat for rent (1 room if alone, 2 rooms if with room mate)
Move into flat from March-April (after the heating season, so the taxes wouldn't destroy me from the start)
Play >1000 sngs every month (~100hrs/month) from January up until at least June. From February-March start to put in some Mtt's (with extra conservative BRM as to not damage my sng BR).

This should secure me financially, but I probably wouldn't have any solid surplus to save up etc. And since the site that I play in doesn't have traffic at higher levels of my sngs, I should look for alternatives eventually. As I said, up until June I plan to keep grinding, but parallel to that I have some options:
1. Return to my studies in SH BSS and grind up to a suitable level for a monthly income
2. Change sites and try to adapt to a different player pool, bubble factors and structure
3. Incorporate MTT's into my game (will do that anyway) and, if successful - make Mtt grinds my main thing (of course, at the same time still grinding up some money in sngs just to reduce the variance and long dry runs in mtts)
4. And this is the crazy one - move from NLHE to some other, less nit/reg/etc infested kind of poker. Some people in my circuit have moved to PLO, some make money from Stud, etc. Hand discussions, trainings and strategy would be available to me from my friends, if their ventures would go as good as they seem to be going.

Non-poker related goals and plans would be:
save up enough money to have a nice summer vacation in my own country;
go to Greece and/or Bosnia to support my national football team in Autumn;
renew my university studies (or find another discipline I would like to study more and just go with it);
do something nice to my gf for once, lol

Well, I am optimistic about this. I hope for a good grind in the coming six months, I believe the most reasonable next step would be to move to SH NLHE or mtts, I am leaning towards SH, but we'll see.

Oh, btw, would like to start a blog some time soon (dunno if that will happen, tbh), and I will surely be more involved in the community.

I have been playing on-line for several years now (believe it or not started on Yahoo Poker!). This is my first real post. My goal for 2012 is become a winning player - not just a breakeven one. I am a BRM master, and have only ever used the PS free starting capital, but I have never really progressed beyond nl2-4. I have started putting approx 800 hands/day, and I have read most of the articles up to and including gold on BSS NL.

I constantly review my sessions, and I am pretty sure where most of my holes are. My main one is that I seem to play tight (vpip ~18%), and then get bored and in just a couple of hands lose a couple of buy-ins. I then win it back and usually end up pretty much breakeven. So this year is going to be the year of consistency and concentration. The outcome of this goal will hopefully be a move to NL10.

I've been grinding the micros a little now and then, the past year, but my goal for the next year is to take poker seriously, start getting som volume, and i hope to become a stable micro-grinder during this year, with a solid ground which I always can fall back on when things arent going my way. I dont have any goal like i want to earn $$$ or i want to play NL$$$ No, what I want is to put more thought in my game, and that means I'll have to study a lot harder. I want to be able to plan my hands, when i see the flop, what to do on which, turn/river and learn thinking in ranges and narrowing thme down

But my biggest goal for the next year is to be a bigger part of the pokerstrategy.com -community. I want to fool around in the forums, welcome new players and help them out, and most of all I want to discuss pokerhands in the hand-evaluating-forum. I don't want come with som silly comments every now and then, no I want to contribute to the discussion, i want to know, what way I think is best to play every hand, and therefore i have to finish my first part of this post too, to give helpful advices.

it would firstly be great to get my bankroll back from Full Tilt.

Before FT went down I was going through a terrible run, and in a way (not really) i'm glad it went down just to make me rethink how i was playing, and what i was playing (I wasn't really ready for rush tables, at least not NL200)

So what I'd like to do is stop playing rush tables and move back to std tables, take it a bit more easy, fewer hands but more analysis.

Also to commit to stop/loss amounts, work on the psychology aspect..

And try to be more humble - I always think I'm playing brilliantly.. let the stats tell the story

Whatever happens though, getting my money back from full tilt will feel like winning the lottery.. (can my poker goal be to win the poker lottery?)

I would like to run better

My goal for 2012:
+ By April: study more on NL Hold'em, beat NL 50 and move up to NL100. At the same time, learn to play Omaha to find if it is suitable to me.
+ In April: buy a new powerfull computer and start grinding
+ Rest of the year: try to level up every month, reach Diamond status at PS by year-end.

my poker goal for 2012

well iv started studying cap games via kevin thurmans(wizzardofahhs) cap guide and have just got staked aswell for it so my goals for 2012 will be to become supernova elite

not only that tho i want to become a top cap game player because there seems to be a lack of them as of now most of them seem to just be rakeback players chasing SNE id like to achieve supernova elite with a profit

i plan on conquering tilt aswell with the help of a mental coach my staker wants me to look into as the swings in cap can be unreal and with the extra software i have in place hopefully 2012 will be the end of it

so realistically my goals for 2012 is to become a professional player in more ways than one

i want to A) act professionally to the game and take serious thought into each decision i make on and off the tables

B) go for SNE and get the highest rakeback available to help increase my earnings

C) become a well known cap player

D) take the step from grinder to full time cap professional

things are looking up for this once extremely bad losing player just shows you put the work in and things will pay off

My goals are to actually play some Poker. That is all.

I've been at this game for a while now, and the results have been mixed at best. For 2012, I'd like to make a run that will finally answer the question....Can I do this and grind out a steady profit or should I quit altogether.

The idea of giving it up doesn"t sit well with me, so I think I need to pony up and make the time and effort to become a winner. First and foremost, I have to utilize the tools at my disposal at this site, and not just the basic stuff. Watch and learn from the videos, post hands for discussion, attempt to find some coaching from more established players. If I put in the time, I should expect to see real results.

Now that I've givin in and purchased HM2, I want to use it to it's full potential and have a deeper understanding of the information that it provides. Even with the limited knowledge I have of it, I realize that I was insane to play online (sometimes multitabling 16 tables at a time) and expect to realize a profit without the aid it provided.

By the end of 2012, if all goes well, I'd like to think that progressing up to NL50 is an attainable goal. If I reach it, then I'll answer my question than again if I'm still grinding at my current level, the question will still be answered.

500k hands as minimum!
1/5 days poker study, rest playtime.
My achive would be to tripple my BR by the end of 2012, and I am sure I can do it! With the right attitude.
gonna 12 table instead of 8 tabling, getting two screens.
Play like a bulldoozer, pound the weak players at the table ,play aggresive.

And if I don't get to my goals I am going to parasuite (HATE HEIGHTS).

After a not so good 2011 as I would have liked because of a major setback with FT and lots of real life problems that made me give little attention to poker the last half year or so I managed in the last 2-3 months to construct a pretty good new environment for my activities in my new life (moved into a new town to follow my studies). At least I have a new bankroll of my own and things are starting to get nicer and nicer, the more I work the nicer they get in the end

So the interesting part comes next after this little rant about my life, the poker goals for 2012 that I set for myself are:
work on my mental side to increase the length and quality of my sessions
In this aspect I found a lot of inspiration in Dusty's book " Treat you poker like a business" and as for the next step, I'm going to watch lots of Jared Tendler's videos, they seem fairly good at the moment.

A concept taken from Dusty's book. It really looks like a good option for me till I get to higher stakes where he recommends playing even more, and I agree with him here.

I'm setting realistically goals from now on in the amounts of play I want to get when I draw the bottom line at the end of the month. My reach until now was something like "it would be nice to play 200h a month so I should go for that", of course I was inevitably falling short of my goal at the end of the month because of so many distractions.

I would like to get a 5bb/100 at NL 200 in a year and combined with a higher one at NL 100.

I feel like you should have something special to say in order to make a blog interesting, which is not really my case for now. The only reason to blog would be to document my journey which I think is reasonable, to have an online journal of this aspect of my life in which I'm going with all my heart and spirit .

:heart:Get some good poker friends with about the same desires and goals in order to push each other through the tough times

a way to set your goals for the forecoming year is to see back at what you achevied in the year passing by
2011 was the 2nd year i took football betting(requires simiral skills brm etc as poker ) a bit more seriously and i turned a 300euro bankroll to abt 1500e placing over 500bets
furthermore 7 months ago i joined pokerstrategy and got the 50$ which i 1. didnt lose 2. turned them to abt 150$ mainly because of freerolls, not bad results considering the volume i put in poker was really small, just a mere 11k hands at nl2 and abt 200tours
more important is that i learned a few things about poker to consider myself at least a breakeven player

so enev though sports betting would still be my gambling of choice for 2012 my poker goals are
1.study the game
2.make an effort to put a reasonable volume into playing the game, with proper brm
and hopefully 1+2 will lead to goal no 3. turn the 150$ to more than 1000$
