I see that you are a young guy full of hopes, "right" behaviour and what not. Keep up.

You use passion for argument, when the pot odds are only mechanical math. What passion has to do with me pushing in being ahead and losing? Passion can only give you will to do something over and over again, seek perfection, but not create "antibadbeat bubble". And i ran out of it when i face none ending stream of bullshit hands.

Greed is motive that drives a lot of people. Money gives you freedom to do anything you want. And i'm seeking freedom, not money or greed. And i see it as a valid motive.

Am not going to even comment on your view on forex. Its just plain stupid.

First of all, merry xmas to everyone, winners or losers!

I suggest we all take a look again at the video of BRM, and not forget some other issues too:

1. When u play poker for fun (and get some money too), do not forget the 1st clause: u play poker for fun!
2. When u play to get money and u see it in a more "professional" manner, u have to consider, that even in your professional life there are downturns!! What do u do then? Quit, or try harder, or change your attitude and strategy??
(This is also a question about forex involvment)
And please, don't tell me that luck isn't a factor in one's professional life!!

Hi,

Watching your PTR I came to the conclusion that you lack of self-discipline. This thread points that way too.

I'm not saying that you have to love something that you're doing, but you have to have discipline. Now, as I see it, you can go try forex, but with your mindset - not poker mindset, but mindset in general - most likely you'll fail miserable. That's it. I think you should work on that and continue poker since you're way closer to make money from it than learning forex.

I won't bore you with all that;' It's great to get it all in versus a guy with 2% outs' crap, blah blah blah, because you know all that anyway.

I am not a psychologist and far from expert in anything, but I just wondered if there were things outside poker that are influencing your mood as well. It can be that family, myself, my finances, health, job, whatever, have a major impact on my state of mind. I'm not saying this is your 'problem' as such, just that it 'could' be part of the trouble.

I'm very fortunate that these things don't detract from my performance because I can distance myself from them when playing, most times at least.

I ask because it's mot often that bad beats and suckouts etc., would have this strong an effect on a previously winning player is all.
These are just my opinions and not meant to delve into your private life or insult you, so feel free to ignore them if you wish.

I do hope that whatever decision you make, you are happy with.

i also have my share of sick bad beats!!! losing on insanely stupid cards and also busted 3 poker accounts but i keep on trying to improve my game, been down 3 times but i just take a break and kept coming back. i have take away the fun part cause sometimes its not fun to lose money fun comes in when your winning. i just put it in my mind find a gameplan based on exp. that profits..

First of all, Im a girl with hopes and dreams. Second, my view on forex is stupid? Really? So I guess you dont give a shit that speculating on food prices drives up the price of food in the poorest countries on the planet and people have to spend 50% (!!!) of their income on food. Greed is a motive that drives a lot of people? Why the fuck do you think the world is in the state that it is in, because of irresponsible people who dont give a shit about anyone but themselves. Anyway, this is more about what doesnt work. Playing poker for the motive of greed, doesnt work. Luck will not be on your side. So yeah it is probably the best to quit poker.

Omfg, this is such a childish view. What do you do besides posting here to change any of that? Are you studing law or whatever to preserve or fight for those people rights? And secondly, why do people go to work? Why do they sit in their jobs from 8 to 8. Why do most people play poker after work/instead of work. Money, freedom. i understand that completly. I encourage such plays, but i mean after a dozen of suckouts you dont find any logic or comfort in those moves. You just sit there and luck how their luck unfolds in front of you...

My only thing outside poker is that i'm not moving anywhere. It pisses me off, i'm stuck in the same routine for some time. Ofc i'm young, that should be that way. I will reach my goals if i work on it. But when you take a break, take a huge breath and after a while give another shot but just to find out that youre just not lucky enough. And beat after beat after beat after beat you realize theres nothing you can do about it. Nothing. And in the end you're left with couple of cents and just no will to start everything from scratches.

And like i said. It seems some players are more lucky than me. Their work pays off. While mine...
