Also seen Doyle call some aggressive pro down (can't remember whom it was I'm afraid), with a pretty marginal hand:

It's hard to judge any of these highstakes hands without knowing anything else AND even for the players themselves, I don't think they know if this call is overall +EV. But Prahlad seemed to be tilted a lot which can win you a lot of money in highstakes headsup where the edge is usually small if everybody plays his A-game.

you're saying he made the call because prahlad was tilted?

or for implied tilt odds?

tbh i don't think prahlad was too tilted from that; i'm sure with his hyperaggressive style, these sorts of calldowns (or at least something similar) do happen to him a bit. i think he just got pissed off at the needling.

anyhow, mike bleeds more money to prahlad and in high stakes online poker in general, than a cut artery

i beleave your refering to a hand where pattrick antonious raised doyle from the button 3 handed with ace deuce to put doyle all in, doyle had pocket 3s and called him, patrick never got the ace and doyle won the hand.

doyle brunson is now wtf-horrible in my books with that call. there is no balls, there is no %purebluff.. he's calling for what is in MOST cases a coinflip.

it is only the correct call if he believes that his edge on patrik antonius is just so so so low that 50% equity will do... (which could well be the case, antonius is IMO much much better than grandpa)

and by the way, it's still bad in that case, if he thought that he was so much worse, he should've pushed preflop for fold equity rather than limping in and trapping (rofl??)

perhaps all the young pros respect doyle so much, and pay him so much lip-service is just so that they can chip away at his umpteenmillion dollar bankroll? i know that's what i'd do given the bankroll
