I didn't like the pacific as much as band of brothers.

In band of brothers you had the same main characters throughout the whole series and you could really connect to them and get to know them and this is not the case in the pacific where the main characters change alot esp on the field of battle.

very true, i agree band of brothers was better, getting to know the troubles of the diffrent soldiers on a more personal level made it what it was. saying that, if pacific was not linked to band of brothers, it would have been epic also

Yes indeed, esp because the major winters went to the pacific at the end of band of brothers.

I just found pacific a little bit too chaotic.

i think that was part of it though, the fact that they couldnt organise anythingbecause of the gorrilla warfair the japs were using

I watched the first 2 episodes last night and I'm very impressed so far. Sure I will finish the lot by the end of the weekend! :)

And if you set your surround sound up just right, you can actually hear the bullets wiz past your head (well sort of lol). Very realistic and great camera work.

Flag of our fathers (U.S. perspective) & Letters from Iwo Jima (Japanese perspective) are pretty good too, but not up to the same standard as Band of Brothers/Saving Private Ryan.

I watched Band of Brothers at least 6 times in my life so far, so I think it's the best there is in the category. I simply love it.

I think The Pacific is great as well. And while we're at HBO productions, we must mention data:image/jpeg;base64,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Generation Kill. It takes place in Baghdad and even though this has a slightly different approach, I still recommend checking it out.

There's also one last (non-HBO) series worth mentioning and that is called data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/2wBDAAkGBwgHBgkIBwgKCgkLDRYPDQwMDRsUFRAWIB0iIiAdHx8kKDQsJCYxJx8fLT0tMTU3Ojo6Iys/RD84QzQ5Ojf/2wBDAQoKCg0MDRoPDxo3JR8lNzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzc3Nzf/wAARCAAQABADASIAAhEBAxEB/8QAFwAAAwEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMFB//EACQQAAICAgICAAcAAAAAAAAAAAECAwQRIQUGEhMAIzEyM0FR/8QAFQEBAQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABAX/xAAfEQABAgYDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARABIBAwRCYXGBodH/2gAMAwEAAhEDEQA/ANGu954uryIpSWI0maYQRo4bLufXoa2fnRnX6J/hwcb3ni+QmppFYjJuBmhUqyMwUKx0wBB8XVgDsqcjI38RLXA20vPJY61ZvWRIHa3UsRLFKwMRDBZJgy/ghypGAVIywyWTR6xL50oavV7NFq+RDYu2Y5Iovt24SZmkx64/EEfVEAKABlhMqze7cAfD0miTgclf/9k=Over There. It takes place in Iraq as well.

On a side note, the length of each series:
Band of Brothers - 10 hours long
The Pacific - 11 hours long
Generation Kill - 7 hours
Over There - 13 hours.

If you guys know some more war-series, please tell me. I want moar!
