I thought I had gone beyond tilting. But after a series of stupidly unlucky hands, Queens running into Kings all day and finally losing to 2 outers I punched my laptop hard enough so it froze and lost all open games. My fucking fault.

BR down to a miserable 2 digits: $95

My game needs some serious work. I'll work MUCH more on it as from tonight so goodbye for now and

Happy Christmas everyone

I was out all day yesterday celebrating the beginning of the year :) much better than a freeroll if you ask me :P

As for an actual blog update: All I have to say right now is that I am taking a shot at micro HUsngs. They're fun and really interesting. A very psychological game from the very beginning.

As for plans for 2012 I'm going to see where these HUsngs take me for now. I plan to add reviewing as part of my day but the biggest issue is still time-management because I'm doing my final year at uni.

I do want, however, to see how far I can take poker because like I said at the very beginning of this blog I would like to have some money saved up by the time I graduate.

So in short my focus is around:

Uni, HUsng, mindset, gym and time-management. Also have to make a bigger effort with my gf cos with all this activity going on it's easy to take her for granted.

Have a great year everyone, let's run goooooood _cool:

I think I'll make a weekly poker update in here instead of posting at random.

First week of 2012: Pretty interesting! I'm playing HUsngs one table at a time and I really enjoy the challenge. Unsurprisingly, some opponents are very easy to beat at this level. Others are ok but I'm sure these are beatable up to $11 or $22 with not much difficulty. It's really fun to break down the psychology (or trying to) of players and anticipate their moves, exploit reads etc. I think this is a good way to build the fundamentals regardless of game type or structure.

For the rest of January I'm going to make it a point to study for 5 hours a week and just play in the evenings. I also have a lot to do for uni so I cannot plan anything specific for volume. I'll try, however, a structured approach to training some endurance by adding a few minutes to every session. Later I'll add tables instead of minutes.

I feel that a lack of organization has been a leak in my life for these past few months. So I'm also keeping a personal notebook (journal?) in which I'll keep record of what I must still do, what I've done and other thoughts. Last week's celebrations have been amazing and I hope that a year from now when we're celebrating again I will look back at it and be proud of it.

One last note: I avoided to make a list of 2012 goals because other than learning, improving and maintaining discipline there isn't much to say. There is one big goal I have which I will not write anywhere. Not because it's private or anything, but because I want it to keep coming up to the surface in my thoughts. If I write it down it's out there and is kind of settled. And we can't have that can we? :) Here's the graph for HUsng:

WARNING: The graph below is not pretty. Sensitive people are advised to look away

:f_o: I just stumbled upon this at Wikipedia:

"Isildur1 had a bankroll of approximately $2000 in January 2009. He built his bankroll to $1.4 million and began playing on Full Tilt in September. "

That's so fucking insane!

And then busted in November?

No doubt he's a good player but he also had to have a long lucky streak and crazy BRM.

So I'm watching more vids, reading and playing more HU sngs. I think the 5 hour study goal has already been accomplished even though I plan to continue watching tomorrow and hopefully get some reading done in the weekend.

For the first time I lost 4 games in a row and began to get angry so I had to stop. I thought I was running very cold and although I was, it wasn't as bad as I was thinking. I'm reviewing these 4 games now and some set-ups were a bit nasty but I'm amazed at how much better I could have played.

I'm not sure about you guys (and I'd love to know!) but reviewing has brought some revelations. The only concern I have is that during the games there obviously isn't time to stop and think and look over hands like during a review. I guess it all becomes second nature, bit by bit by bit.

HEM's ROI is really messing me up. It goes from 10 to 20 and back to 10 every few games because the sample is so small.

How can I not look at it?! aaaaarghhh :f_mad:
