I think I would be basing my style on Horrible Histories. It's a popular series about history stuff, with many lame jokes inside. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading them back when I was still in school.

So I think I'll try to insert as many lame jokes as possible. Suggest some if you have any.

Was trying to insert some lame joke about position (Rebecca Black's Which seat should I take) but I couldn't draw her face properly thanks to her huge smile and thick eyeliner. You have Defending the Blind, Limping, Common mistakes (facepalm), isolation (jail) and so on.

I gave up and used the poker face drawing instead. So easy lol!

I've about 12 000 words inside now. In comparison, The Poker Blueprint has 40 000 words. But slow-habit did add quite a bit of filler, as well as more advanced stuff like light 3/4betting which i will not touch on.

My focus is on solid pre-flop play, strong math fundamentals (without combo counting) about pot odds and bet-sizings, and a good post-flop plan.

Here's a screen-shot of the first 10 pages. Still looks amateurish so I'm going to have to think about how to make the overall feel of the book more professional.

fuck yeah, I just traced over her face and managed to get the semblence there.

2p2 is a silly forum. I actually posted abt this in NVG, asking for some feedback and it was closed in an hour. Apparently I had to pay 100$/month in the commercial marketplace for a product that is not even finished.

The response seemed decent while the thread lasted, and Tri Nguyen said that my content may be attempting to please everyone and that I should keep my target audience in mind.

Not sure how I would be trimming out the tougher parts. Here are some more updates, now I have decided to give larger screen shots.

jan didn't end well. High point was at 12-13k profit, ended up with 5k profit after some run-bad and spew towards the end.

Feb is terrible too. I'm up 1.7k for the month but I'm down 7k in EV. I have a little bit of problems getting in volume. 12 days have past but only played 45 hours so far.

95% done. What I really need is to simplify it a little more and make it more accessible to new players. Illustrations are more or less done too, could definitely re-do some of the uglier ones.

Price if $49.95 - something I've settled on after thinking long and hard and getting lots of input from others.

My marketing plan is pretty much this:

1. Have a high-quality product.
2. Get people to read it (For example, I've shipped a few advanced copies to active members of the poker community and some of my more trusted students).
3. Have them recommend it to others, assuming they liked it.
4. Repeat step 4.

I'm also active on a few websites, twitter, etc, which helps people get to know me and my thought process about poker. I would love to hear more about your plan - I know that I talked with multiple authors about their experience and it helped me with my own decision making.

I do watch a lot of SC2 live streaming from TwitchTV, I think they can earn about 20/h if they have 1k viewers and run 4 commercials per hour.

As far as I know, no one is doing it at the moment (for obvious reasons). If I am somehow able to do a "delayed live" stream of me playing uNL, would there be any demand? I could even just stream random games in the mix just for fun (TF2, COD MW3, WAR3, SC2).

I think this might be a good way at promoting poker to the gaming community even further. Plus maybe I can market my book in this manner too, maybe build a brand name for myself. But I wouldn't want to start if it is doomed to fail right from the beginning.

I finally got myself to do the final editing of my manuscript and I think there should be few/no errors. I also did my own formatting and cover page which was quite tough. I still don't know if I should update the cover page and actually hire a professional to do it.

Well, here's the link. I decided that any price below $10 is really way too cheap, given that every single book out there in the market about poker is at least $10. Especially when I only get 60-80% for each sale. I decided to publish my book at SmashWords due to their automatic conversion software and auto-publication. It looks quite decent on my Iphone 4, way better than expected. The first 15% of the book is available as a sample, though I did provide many more samples in my previous posts in this blog.

February hasn't been going too well for me. I ran significantly below EV as usual, which brings me to $8 000 below EV for the year. The run bad is still affecting my play a little, but I am working on my mindset.

It was also kind of hard to push myself to grind more during the weekends. And a huge chunk of my losses came from 5/10 (couldn't help sitting in fishy games) so I will stay away from those limits again until I have >$100 000 in my account.

Some interesting hands I played yesterday for my YouTube Channel

1) Villain is a loose/passive player who has been playing about 50% VPIP. My 3-barrel is definitely the best play against such a player but Flop and Turn sizing should have been bigger because I am significantly ahead of his F and T calling range and the range of hands he is calling with is pretty inelastic. $1.40 on F, $3.50 on T. He's never folding any gutshot on the Flop and he has many pair+draws on the Turn like Q9/QJ/QT/KT/T8/J8/98 which outweighs the times he has KQ/J9/T9. River is definitely a half-pot bet because we want him to be able to hero-call with 2ndpair type of hands.

2) Here's another interesting hand. Villain is playing 100/40 over 5 hands and is getting involved in every pot. When he raises the Turn, I did not really put him on a weak Ace raising for a cheap showdown. The best play is to call since villain is strongly repping a KX hand and I am losing to slowplayed AA/AK/88 (not uncommon for bad players to slowplay) as well as KJ/KQ. I think he plays every KX in the deck but I am also behind K8 and K4 so I am losing to way too many hands to make a value reraise here, unless of course I had the read about him minraising Turn for a cheap showdown.

3) Villain in this hand is 45/35. He seems to be very aggressive and splashy. Given how wide he is opening from UTG and MP, I think KQ is an easy defend. I would fold KQo vs a tight UTG raiser who raises 16% or less though.

Flop is an easy call. The turn is somewhat tricky. If I think he is aggressive, I should be expecting him to barrel his pair+draws quite frequently. If I think he would c/c some of these hands, then I should be betting KQ for pure value since I expect AQ+ to valuebet the Turn himself. In this case, based on timing I felt he was giving up with his air pretty often so I opted to go for a river bet instead. He checked the River pretty quickly which leads me to believe he has air or a weak pair, so I make a 1/3 pot size bet to get value from these category of hands.

I have decided to change my book cover. Requested my friend who took Art in Junior College to photoshop a nicer looking cover for me

And I have been slacking off for the past few days. Was pretty tired yesterday and I also gave my friend a 2 hour session of coaching. We had a good discussion on how to use more advanced statistics in Hold'Em manager like the fold Cbet vs Flop raise stat and the fold vs cbet on Flop and Turn to determine whether floating or raising the Flop is a better plan. I also emphasized the importance of knowing the numbers (how equities run on various board textures).

Here's an example.

100BB stacks
We raise to 3$, A tight guy 3bets us to 9$ and we call with 99. (4% 3bet stat).
His range looks like AK+/TT+ mostly

Board is 234r
What is the best line here? Most people would say call. But when your opponent's range looks so pocket-pair or AX heavy, this is a pretty clear fold. We are either slightly ahead of AK (60/40 favourite) or a huge dog (10/90 underdog). Our total equity is <30% and therefore this is a clear fold.

Some very tough hands... I played them really bad.

1) Turn is a tough spot, other guy is fish and villain 2barrels on a paired board when I can easily have KX. I think it's a fold now and probably I should fold this river esp on the Ace because villain has way more boats than flushes.
