Hi,
can someone give me some information about the variance in NLHE HU games?
I would like to play nl50 or nl100 HU....is it possible to maintain a steady winrate or do you have to expect a much higher variance in your results (in general)?

Well my standard deviation in HU was around 125bb/100 I think, while in 6max it's around 85bb/100. If it doesn't tell u much then play around with http://www.evplusplus.com/poker_tools/variance_simulator/ and you'll get the picture.

That's actualy pretty sickening how much difference there can be in 100k hands HU. Unless your winrate is like 20bb/100 plus. When your winrate is under 10 then your pretty screwed if the doomswitch hits you though.. Although i have no clue at all what's actualy a normal winrate at hu cash 
17-25bb depending on how sick you are and your stakes.
ofc if your a sicko you might be able to pull off up to 35bb/100 in the lower limits
I play HUNL mostly. had a $1k downswing last week at 50NL...
make sure you are prepared for swings, sir.
I was doing some tryouts on nl50 yesterday..... there is already quite a bit of variance in the HU with a single opponent
With one i just didnt hit anything on the flop over 300 hands and with the other i was hitting 2 pair and 3 of a kind and called all-in with only 40 hands
Also I was running at 45bb/100 at 100nl over 40k hands, over next 30k hands was running over like 25bb/100, now I'm 4 tabling/playing regs my WR is like 20bb/100 but obv higher hourly. I wouldn't start playing HU till you ahve BR for 100nl either as I think 50nl is too small too.
If your usual Bank Roll Management allows to play at a level with 20-25 buy ins the variance on heads up tables is so much greater they reckon you should have around 70 buy ins for heads up tables. (this seems high to to me and isn't something i stick to personally, but it's what I read somewhere on the FTP academy).
No need for 70bi for nl50, 30bi and hope to run good, if not then go back to w/e you were playing before after losing like 10bi or so imo.
Can someone give me some info of how the level at nl50 hu is? i just had one session yet and it wasnt too harsh..... but its of course not representative

also just tableselect, i mean just bumhunt the fuck out of mega fish, higher w/r easier game and less variance gg. i love the super loose passive stations bc u can value own them so hard and just fold as soon as they play back.
