Is this the event which will be broadcasted live on epsn3.com with hole cards also, which we can see for 10 euro a day or 15 euro's for 1 month ? When does the main event start and end ? Or is it free too for us Europeans this year on http://www.wsop.com/2011/live-video/ ?

Hey guys, this event is starting up soon, so far we have four Team PokerStrategy.com players playing in this event:

  • Thorsten77
  • Nazgul
  • Bokkie
  • Thorsten77

More updates soon.

only the final table i think.

espn3.com is free in the US, not sure about Europe

RobbieV

Thorsten77

Nazgul

Still waiting for Bokkie to take his seat.

RobbieV has ElkY and Jeff Lisandro on his table

ElkY

Jeff Lisandro

Thorsten77 has Tom Marchese to his right

Tom Marchese

Not too many entrants in this event, I think they will probably close late reg with under 300 players.

There are however quite a lot of regulars in it. Among them:

Vanessa Selbst

Annette Obrestad

Antonio Esfandiari

Olivier Busquet

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliot

Level 2 now in his event: (75/150)

Chip Counts (30k start stack):
Thorsten77k 40k
Nazgul 34k
Bokkie 30k
RobbieV 15k

Saw RobbieV play a hand against ElkY, ElkY opened pre, RobbieV calls.

Flop comes T:h 6:c 4:h ElkY bets 750, RobbieV makes is 2,025, ElkY calls
ElkY checks, RobbieV bets 4.1k on the turn of 7:d, ElkY calls.

River T:c and it goes check check.

ElkY shows Q Q, RobbieV has A:h 3:h

Meanwhile, Thorsten77 took down a pot against Joseph Cheong (2010 Main Event Runner-up)

Thorsten raised pre-flop, one calls, Cheong calls.

Flop comes 6:c 2:h 7:s, Cheonh bets and Thorsten call

Turn 7:d, Cheong bets, Thorsten calls

River 2:s, both check and Thorsten wins it wth AJ against Cheong's J high.

Joseph Cheong

Praz Bansi is also on Thorsten's table, two seats to his right, Cheong is to Bansi's right.

Also found Bokkie, he had trouble with his registration, they couldn't find his registration slip as his name was spelt wrong.

Bokkie is seated with two old school pros:

Barry Greenstein

David Chiu

Players are back from their first break, and the blinds are now at 100/200

Thorsten77 70k
RobbieV busto
both Nazgul and Bokkie are around their starting stack

Thorsten has two asian businessman types on his table and he made a nice double up through one of them.

He played two big hands, the first one he lost. He raise K:c Q and got two callers.

Flop came A Q T :c, Thorsten bets, one call and one fold.

Turn 3:c, Thorsten77 bets, villain jamds and Thorsten77 calls.

River 3, and Thorsten77's flush is not enough to beat villain's full house.

In the very next hand, he picked up AA, and raised UTG , one of the businessmen 3-bets, and another player cold calls, Joseph Cheong 4-bets, Thorsten77, 5-bets, the businessman 6-bet shoves and Thorsten77 makes the easy call.

villain shows QQ

As for Robbie, he was pretty unlucky in the event. Before losing around 6k to ElkY in the hand i posted in he previous update, he flopped top set bus was forced to fold on the river on an ugly board.

ElkY raised utg, co called and RobbieV called with 55, and one player called from the blinds.

The flop came 5 4 2 :S, villain donks, ElkY flats , RobbieV makes it 1,800 and both call

Turn 6:s both check and RobbieV bets 5.7k, both call.

River 7, SB donks 2/3 pot and both ElkY and RobbieV fold.

RobbieV said he felt that villain probably had a flush and was looking for a payoff from a straight.

In his busto hand, ElkY opened to 375, RobbieV made it 1,025 (he had 3-bet ElkY quite often), player on Robbie's left who always 3-bets him made it 3k, RobbieV pots it and villain goes all in.

A:h K:h vs A:d K:d, unfortunately RobbieV lost.

Thorsten77 "It doesn't make sense". Remember in the $5k, he said hearts never lose.

Blinds are up again, now at 150/300, so far 217 registered

Chip counts:
Thorsten77: 80k
Nazgul: 39k
Bokkie: 31k

Tom Marchese is busto from Thorsten77's table but Rober Mizrachi joined instead
Robert Mizrachi

I saw Bokkie split a preflop all in pot against Dan "djk123" Kelly.

Barry Greenstein raised, djk calls, Bokkie raised, Barry called, djk shipped it all in and Bokkie called.
AKo vs AKo, two kings on the board and they chopped it up.

Before that, Bokkie also chopped a hand against Barry Greenstein. Bokkie raised, Barry 3-bet, Bokkie called. he then check called down to the river on a five low card board. Both of them had QQ

djk123

Liv Boeree, durrrr and nanonoko are all seated on the same table, nanonoko is to durrr's left

Bingo!

Missed an update on the 250/500 level, blinds are now going up to 300/600

Chip counts:Bokkie 50k
Nazgul 30k
Thorsten77 135k

Nazgul had doubled up before the break, but then lost a big hand AK vs AA

After having not much action for most of the event, Bokkie finally doubled up.

HJ opened to 1.1k at 250/500, two call, and Bokkie calls from SB with 8:h 9:h.

Flop comes 5:h 7 K:h, SB checks, HJ checks, CO makes is 3k, BU folds, and Bokkie pots it, CO goes all in and Bokkie calls.

villain showed K T but Bokkie turns a 6 for the straight.

Thorsten77 made a big suckout against Alan Sternberg, Sternberg had been 3-betting a lot and in this hand, one player raised, two called, Sternberg squeezed, and Thorsten77 made a 4-bet, Sternberg went all in and Thorsten77 had to call.
AQ vs QQ and Thorsten turned an A

Not a good hour for our guys, blinds are up to 400/800

Thorsten77 lost a monster pot with AA vs QQ preflop all in against Masa Kagawa (Japanese high stakes player)

Chip counts:
Thorsten77 42k
Nazgul 40k
Bokkie 30k

Day 1 is over

Nazgul 27.7k
Thorsten77 33.4k
Bokkie 26.8k

Nazgul said he made a bad call, couldn't fold a full house although he thought he was only calling for a split pot.

No idea what the hand was tho.

Thorsten77 lost a medium sized pot against Sorel Mizzi on his right

Sorel raised in MP, Thorsten calls from HJ.

Board comes 2:d T:s J:c 8:s 7:c and Thorsten check called down with K:s J:s, Mizzi had 9:c T:h for the rivered straight

Play resumes tomorrow at 3pm PST
