Hey guys,

This thread will contain all the general updates from all the events that we will not be covering as there are no Team PokerStrategy.com players registered for it. If you want more in depth coverage of what's happening in these events, just check WSOP.com for the latest news.

You're welcome to post anything and send your messages to me here.

For the events that we will be covering, unlike last year, we will have one thread for each event and all the updates from that event can be found there.

It's good to be back in Las Vegas, just landed here last night and still suffering from the effects of jetlag but I'm all ready to bring you another 50 days of kickass WSOP action.

I've just picked up my press credentials and the $25k Heads-up event is about to start soon. I've already spotted a few familiar faces, so I guess it's time for me to get to the tables and snap some photos for you. Watch out for the first updates in the next few posts!

HF this year!

Full coverage begins with Event #4, the $5k NL Hold'em event which begins in two days. Six players from Team PokerStrategy.com, Bokkie, BongBob, Nazgul, Thorsten77, MikaPaasonen and RobbieV will be playing in it.

In total, the team will be sending 9 players to the WSOP this year, and you can find out who will be playing what, in our two news posts with the line-up Lineup part I and Lineup Part II

Would be interested in if any fulltilt pros are showing up (those who own a part of FT). My guess is Howard Lederer is taking a break from the wsop this year .

I saw Antonius, and Gus

The atmosphere here in the Amazon Room @ Rio is great, the WSOP has officially started and many pros have turned up.

ESPN seems to have a much bigger presence this year and many of the final tables will be streamed online.

Here are some pics from the $25k heads-up event that is happening now:

Gus Hansen

Patrik Antonius

Last year's $10k heads-up winner, Ayaz Mahmood who beat Trader in the final, remember him?

Don't think any of the Team PokerStrategy.com members are playing now and don't see any members I recognize in the field as well.

If you want to find out all the action, just check WSOP.com, I'll check in later or tomorrow for more brief updates.

In the mean time, anyone got picks on who will win this event this year?

Are there any threads discussing Fantasy WSOP Picks.. ?

I don't think Patrik and Gus will be any less popular due to the FT patches. They have never been associated with owning a piece of the company or anything and can't do anything about the situation.

If you didn't follow the stream,

Johnny Chan got his revenge and took out Phil Hellmuth in their rematch earlier

Read all about it on wsop.com

The final four of the $25k Heads-up event will start in about an hour and it will be streamed live on ESPN3.com

Gus Hansen vs Jake Cody
Eric Foehlich vs Yevgeniy Tymoshenko

It's free but US only I think, but I'm sure there are ways you can get it

Does anybody knows any site where we could watch it then?

Timoshenko vs Froehlich

Cody vs Hansen

Marvin Rattenmaier

Marvin's still in the $1.5k 6-max event. there's less than 30 players left there but he is pretty short now with under 200k, blinds at 3k/6k

Due to a printing error 4:s card is recognizable under the black light at the final table arena. Organizers realized this flaw occurs in every single deck they had at hand at the moment. Players moved to a normal table and play would be stopped would anyone of them recognize the card under normal light conditions.

MarkusOwnH is playing in Day 2 in the $1.5k Limit Holdem Shootout

Not looking so good for MarkusOwnH at the moment. Eugene Katchalov is leading his table and he's one of the shorties.

On dinner break now.
