On another topic, after years being out of this business, I guess I'm more mindfull[1] of some stuff that I thought as normal:

It is amazing how many little numbers with colors there are, how two 21 inch screens seem "small" and how bizarre does it look like actually. I've read recently this article Quit Professional Poker and Do Something Useful and that has been in the back of my mind actually... in what other industry and what actual appliance could a HUD have in the real world? (I am a bachelor in Computer Science).

[1] Mindullfness is a buddhist concept which is like focus or concentration, but goes far beyond that. There are books written entirely on the concept alone. And I think being mindfull when playing poker is vital, it might be the most important skill of all.

The bank roll challenge is certainly helping me with keeping a good record of my progress and giving me the push I need to really give poker a go.
Currently I am playing FR NL10 after a brief time on 25NL. I am new to poker (2 years) and have spent the last 6 months applying a more professional approach towards making poker a realistic job. For the rest of this year my aim is to get in to shape and really home my game. I am looking to get back up to 25NL or even 50NL for January with a mindful outlook on achieving my goal of super nova in 2016.

Now I know how to build a p.c. Install a OS, but that's about it when talking about Computer Science. But about a week ago I came across this forum thread

With the google glasses I think we are going to see everyday HUD's soon.

Nice blog and welcome back to poker,

In that hand I think you really need more info on what kind of fish he is, I notice there are agro and passive, passive will only bet like this with 97 or a set and agro could do that with 22 :f_biggrin:,

personally id rather fold the turn until I have more info on the players postflop play, you could consider minraising the turn for cheap showdown but I still prefer waiting until I have more info, what was his hand.

What was his hand?

Well, yeah. it was probably a pretty close call. But I was sure he was a fish, not only by his stats (although you are right, in very few hands) but also because of his stack size. That combination is pretty fishy to me.

And I'm calling a lot of hands like these, not so often for "stacks", most often they are small pots. Of course sometimes I lose, but even with A high several times I have won hehe

Weekly Recap

So, today is the first week I participate in the bankroll challenge, and since I didn't sign up since the beg. of the month or the week, my first report counts only a couple of days (the worse days of the month coincidentally). But oh well, w/e, these are the first 2 weeks of September which are not counting in the challenge:

First week of September: Just a normal grinder week, not especially unlucky did I feel (so I was probably very lucky in reality). I really hope to play more volume at my A game.

Second week of September: I discovered NL16 and tried a few hands on that level. I played less than 1k hands on the level and oh my..., how swingy does this graph look like hehe.

So, I'm also good so far with the challenge of this blog, which is to beat the games at 10bb/100 at least. I hope this week everything goes back on track! (Last days were the downswing)

Yesterday I had the worst day ever (since the comeback)

It's a lot considering that I also played NL5... In total 7.5 Buy-ins behind EV at one day... this is what makes poker somewhat difficult (I'm sure I tilted away one or two stacks too, something I don't do often).

Why not one buy-in behind EV every day? Why all of them at the same time?

Just as an example, all my KKs in big pots (remember all of them were the same day!)

But today is another day, saturdays are usually good days to grind!

Week 3 of the "Get rich or die trying challenge" ... a very harsh week:

I won some money, though :f_drink:. My bankroll increased over 40% again!! Yay!! (Last week was 44%). I cashed some FPPs today because I wanted to end the month with a good bankroll to start playing some NL25 (35-40 buy ins)

I played a lot of hands this week. An average of 3.4k hands/day which means almost 7 hours per day. It's not bad, its about what I was planning to play (I need USD $4k quick to invest in a real life business hehe). This week I've learned a few things:

1. Do not play long sessions! After two hours I don't play my 10bb/100 A-Game. Try to play 4 sessions per day.
2. Rest between sessions, preferably doing something non-poker related or going out to take a little sun hehe
3. Be careful when playing the last session of the day, as I'm usually tired and not playing my best. Play 6 tables and stay focused (late at night is a good time to play, since the tables are full of canadian fish and most eastern european sharks are sleeping)
4. Tight up my play a bit! I've had sessions playing 25/20; and that's definitely a mistake for Full Ring tables. (My HEM shows a loss in 6 out of the top 10 "loosest" sessions played. On the other hand 10 out of 10 greens (positive sessions) when playing the tightest)

In 3 days I'll make the month recap. Still a lot to learn!
