Hi guys, after failing in my previous challenge, I decided to start a new blog, where I will post all my updates and challenges.
Previous challenge was to get from 150€ to 1500€ which failed, although I still finished in the + with ~400€.

The fist upcoming challenge will be to start with 400$ and get to 4000$.
I will continue an optimistic BRM, meaning that I will stab at the next higher stakes as soon as I have 12-14 BIs for that limit:
240$ for NL20
300$ for NL25 (currently playing here)
360$ for NL30
600$ for NL50
I will drop back whenever I fall below 8BI.
Currently I am holding myself pretty well at NL25, where I am feeling quite good at. In previous attempts I felt uneasy, scared, and was playing super nitty.

Goals for every week:

  • Set at least 4 goals each week related to improving poker or own well-being (i.e. workout )
  • Check on the goals and if failed analyse why this happened

Intermediate goals:

  • Get a database analysis from w34z3l when reaching 30k+ consecutive hands at NL25
  • Finish reading Mental Game of Poker

Goals for this week:

  • before starting first session in a day review the previous day
  • review biggest losing and biggest winning hands (pot > 60 BB) and note errors
  • defend blinds more aggresively, especially BvB
  • get a workout done

Update Week 1

Volume down. Ran quite lucky at PS (see graph below) not so much at 888.

Goals for last week:

  • start first session of day with review of last day - partially failed
  • review biggest losing and biggest winning hands (pot > 60 BB) and note errors - partially failed
  • workout - succeeded
  • defend blinds more aggresively, especially BvB - I think that I succeded

I guess I failed my goals mainly due to laziness.

From analyzing my play during the week, but also from before I found some additional leaks:

  • not watching stack-sizes enough --> for example 3 betting light vs. villain with small stack and then getting him commited without fold equity
  • too much aggression on Turn. Cbetting T without SD value or FE

Goals for this week
- analyze previous day
- watch opp stacksizes
- workout x 2
- read from MGP

Summary
hands: 4731
bankroll: 564.50 $ (14% of goal)
profit: +177.90 $ ( + 32%)

Update week 2
It was a weird week. I played my first 1000 ever at NL50 with a slight profit. I tightened up a bit and tried zo get a feeling about players styles. Overall it appeared that villains are more aggressive preflop, but quite passsive post. Floating a lot, thrying to get cheap to the river
At NL25 I have been on a steady downswing. U can tell from my three week graph at PS where last week took place.

stat analysis does not show much, other than becoming slightly more passive on Flop and probably too agro on T as compared to prior weeks.

Goals for last week
- analyze previous day - ok
- watch opp stacksizes - failed
- workout x 2 ok
- read from MGP ok

Goals for this week
- analyze previous day
- watch opp stacksizes
- think more about opp when cbetting F and/or T
- read from MGP
-

Summary
hands: 5477
Bankroll: 546.23 (still at 14%)
Profit: -18.27

Update Week 4
Volume down due to trip to US.

In lieu of decent online poker, I plan to play as much live as I can.
I spent already an evening at the Casino del Sol in Tucson AZ.
Decent but worn out atmosphere.
Only regs playing 1-2 NL. Only other games spread on a Sunday were 2-4 Limit and 1-2 NL big-O.
I might check out the other poker room here as well.

Goals for last week
- analyze previous day - ok
- watch opp stacksizes - ok
- think more about opp when cbetting F and/or T ok
- read from MGP failed

Goals for this week
- work out once at the hotel
- read frm MGP
- crush the live games at least another time

Summary
hands: 5477
Bankroll: 569.22 (still at 14%)
Profit: +22.60

Update Week 5
Volume down due to trip to US.

Low volume due to US trip. Playing cash was fun but not profitable.
After returning I played without focus and goal --> big loss

Goals last week
- work out once at the hotel - failed
- read frm MGP - failed
- crush the live games at least another time - done

Goals for coming week
- play only when ready to focus on game
- review previous day
- workout 2x
- read some poker

Summary
hands: 2644
Bankroll: 396,14 (back to 10%)
Profit: -173.08

I have become such a calling station. Look at the graph below. Without calling off of betting big w 5 or 6 hands when I am clearly beat, I would be way ahead on the week.
^

Ahead on Turn, beat on R

played really bad poker. I get in love with my hands and do not let go when I am beat.
Discipline is reallay bad. Failed on all my goals.
So repeat:

Goals for coming week

Update Week 7

Had a so and so week. Ran into a couple of manicas which were donating money, but gave most of it back due too tilt and variance.

Overall had a relatively good feeling about my game. MAnaged to avoid tough spots OOP.
Still many issues to work on:
- playing without distraction
- calling 3st w TP or overpair
- too aggressive OOP, especially OTT

Goals for last week
- play only when ready to focus on game - semi ok
- review previous day - ok
- workout 2x - only 1 x
- read some poker - ok

Goals for coming week
- play only when ready
- be more aware of opponent, especially OOP
- workout 2x
- watch at least 1 w34s3l video

Summary

Hands: 6864
Profit: 117.27$
Bankroll: 463.91$

Had quiet week. Trying to play only when ready resulted in quite reduced volume.

Goals for last week
- play only when ready - ok
- be more aware of opponent, especially OOP - better
- workout 2x - only 1x
- watch at least 1 w34s3l video - ok

goals for coming week
- play only when ready
- workout 2x
- watch 1 video
- defend BB vs SB more agro

Profit: +30.11$
Bankroll: 494.01$

Wow, what a week
blew off half my bankroll due to tilt over 600hands, and ran additionally 400BB below EV thereafter.
Dropped back to NL 10 and managed to stabilize, but it's a steep road ahead.
Causes:
too many tables
running bad + not beleiving that villain can hit their draws.

Coming week:
- have fun
- relax

Summary:
Hands: 5825
Profit: -364.40$
Bankroll: 118.45$

Bounced back from the previous terrible week. Albeit at NL10. Currently I am still below my starting bankroll, so still in rebound mode.
I managed to stay patient and grind looking for spots.

Update week 11
I stated my week again by tilting about 7BI away. Tried to grind my way back, mainly by playing short concentrated sessions. Worked out pretty well, but also ran 4BI below EV, so overall a losing week with some positive in it.
This week will try to continue concentrated play

Update week 12
still on downward slope. Continue to run way below EV.
Everyrhing would have been fine still if I would not play so much autopiloting.
Anyhow NETX WEEK I WILL BREAK EVEN........with 0 hands, because of USA trip

Actually I am way ahead, as my USA trip was very profitable at the live tables. But that does not count here, due to separate bankroll

So las week online was boring. Played quite unfocussed. I definitevly nbeed to do something about my motivation

Intersting trend I have been noticing.
Most oif tghe time I start the week quite profitable Mon-Wednesday, soemtimes even Thursdays.
then I give some bakc Fri-Sun. Probably too long sessions? Too little focus.
It is a fact that Mon-Wed. I rather play more short sessions then at the weekeend..

hmmmm

Well, the trend observed last week continued well into this one. Start strong, finish weak.
Have to come up with a plan for the weekend, where I obviously play a losing game
The good thing is that I grinded myself into Gold status at PS
