Hello Pokerstrategy members.
Let me introduce, my name is Dalius and i am from Lithuania. I am trying to come back to poker world and community. Previously in 2010-2013 was playing/grinding SNG/MTT 180 men on PS.
This year in February started to play a little bit of NL10 ZOOM 6max cash games on Pokerstars. It went well and I find it quite interesting. Started to learn, talk, watch and play more :f_grin:
And after 2 months i am here, typing this text :f_thumbsup:
I want to mention that i have never ever done that before, what i am doing now (blogging) :f_pleased:
I hope it will go well.

Why started this blog: I believe, and want to believe, that it will help to improve my poker ethic, game and learning process.

Blog goals: firstly, to move up from NL16 to NL50 myself. Then decide on the coach if i accomplish first task :)
Secondly, to become stronger mentally.
Thirdly, i wish to keep this blog alive and interesting:)

Currently i am playing NL16, will focus more on regular tables.

Spoiler

Short term goals until April 15:

Play 20-30k hands
Finish preflop perfection videos
Take a shot at NL 25 if bankroll goes up to 30 BI
make at least 2 blog updates

I am starting this blog with:
Current bankroll: 485.36$ ~30BI at NL 16

For the first time i think its enough :f_wink: Next update i will write about my strengths and weaknesses.

All suggestions, opinions and advices are welcome.

Good luck at the tables:f_wink:

Strengths and weaknesses

First, i would like to write about my strengths in poker. As i am a former SNG player i feel that i have pretty much good understanding about opening ranges.
But many regs have a good understanding this too. So, i don't have such big advantage on them at this area. Advantage is more against weaker players.
I am still working on it, playing with Eqlab that i can adapt better.
Other strength is table selection. If i am playing regular tables, i can easy change bad or tough tables. Don't try to rush my hands per hour.
I can patiently wait for good tables.
Strengths:

Preflop ranges
Table selection

Secondly, I feel that my mental weaknesses are bigger than poker technique. I struggle in many sports post flop, especially then i am out of position (3bet pots oop from blinds or then i am cold called my player in position).
I lack a bit of poker discipline and concentration at the tables, sometimes i am just clicking buttons. Also, have problems with tilt, don't how to call it, then u can't win a bigger pot for about 30 minutes or more, i start to raise, 3bet more, to play for a bigger pot.
I am a bit results oriented, i am looking at the sessions results during the play. THIS IS BAD.

Weaknesses:

Mental problems
Tilt
Spew
Lack of discipline
Concentration
OOP post flop play
Results oriented

Perhaps, i have more strengths than 2 (i hope) and for sure i have more weaknesses or big leaks in my game than i mentioned.

Hey,
I really like your post.
I also used to play a lot of multitable SnGs but stopped a while back.

Recently got back into poker by playing 6max NL10 and suffer from same weaknesses (tilty and spewy...). have mixed feelings about zoom. when you run good, its good, but when you run bad (and are a bit tilty) i tend to donk away my money :f_biggrin: ... so now i play regular tables :f_cool:

I look forward for updates on your blog.

Bankroll challenge Week 1 UPDATE
NL16z hands: 9980
Profit: 21.15$
Bonuses: 7.5$

starting bankroll: 443$
current bankroll: 471.63

1st week went not so well, but not so bad, small profit achieved. Plus i spewed few buy ins for sure
As mentioned at my first post, i should be playing more regular tables. But did not find so many good, soft regular tables, so played more zoom tables. At once i was playing 2-3 zoom tables. With 4 tables i am bit auto clicking and fold too much.

Is it just a coincidence or do you 3barrel alot?
On the one hand you sometimes get payed off (royal flush :f_drink: nh btw), but especially your 2 spew examples show that ppl are willing to call 3 barrels in 3 bet pots with TP.
It may also factor in these examples that you 3bet from blinds, i.e. resteal but villain is persistent...

It may be exploitable (is it really, idk :P) but i usually avoid 3barrel bluffs especially when OOP, especially in 3bet pots, especially when defending/restealing from blinds.
Just my thoughts. Feel free to disagree :f_cool:

i showed these spews, because they happened then i really was tilted X(
With T3o hand is versus pretty good regular, and i can see why he callled, i just rep nothing or very small range of value hands.
Versus KJ, i thought that fish could fold a pair

maybe my next update topic could be about overthinking (over leveling). If u are interested i try to write my thoughts:)

Good morning :)

Recently, i made my small database of 40k hands at NL16 analysis. I just looked up at my standard opening ranges and at some deviations.
I am quite surprised. i made 723 +- not good decisions preflop with open raises. Sometimes it worked due to too nitty table or wanted to play more hands vs fishes.

From the table below, we can see, that opens from BTN snd SB dont bring the loss, because many players dont defend as they should.
Other positions were very unprofitable, we faced 3bets and should fold or we were cold called, and with weak hand were playing out of position.

Spoiler

Have a nice day guys :)

Bankroll challenge Week 2 UPDATE
NL16z hands: 8804
Profit: 160.18$
Bonuses: 18$ it is from daily pokerstars card hunt challenges

starting bankroll: 443$
current bankroll: 647.77$

2nd week went pretty good. I run this week better and finished above EV line :)
This weeks volume 1/3 was at regular tables and 2/3 on zoom. comparison with previous week, regular tables were a lot softer with 1-3 weaker players at once.
I am glad that this week has passed without big spews, maybe some lighter calls failed and some attempts to fold fishes hand failed too :)

Lets make an update, how was the 1st half of the month.

Short term goals until April 15:

  • Play 20-30k hands - done
  • Finish preflop perfection videos - done
  • Take a shot at NL 25 if bankroll goes up to 30 BI - failed
  • make at least 2 blog updates - done

I played almost 26k hands at NL16, 2/3 at zoom and other 1/3 at regular. I am happy that i achieved profit during this time period. Also all in EV fortune was more on my side this time :)

Spoiler

I finished Preflop perfection videos pack and some other video packs. But on the other hand i feel that i have watched to many of them at his short period of time. So many different information come to my mind and i cant process and take them to my game that quickly.

Shot to NL25. I have a chance, but i felt tired and decided to leave this in short future. Last day of the 1st half on month my bankroll was over 750$ or 30 Buy ins in NL25, but i finished my green number session at NL16 and didnt force to take a shot at NL25.

Blog updates +- i completed this task. Wrote few posts in general and weekly posts about participating in Bankroll chellenge.

I will leave here some notes for my next post: Productivity, laziness, tiredness

This weekend i will spend with my girlfriend and wont think much about poker. Will let minds to settle in their places. And hope i will come back fresher and stronger to the field:)

Of course i will set new goals in next few days and post them here :)

I would like to appeal to readers of this blog( if there are any): If you are reading my blog, I would be glad if you could mention what do you like or unlike from blog, what topics could be more interesting to you and any other information. Also any advice, questions of any topic (life, poker and etc) are very very welcome:)

bankroll in HEM2 are missing about 10$, but i feel that some hand histories wasn't saved, because one day i had some disconnects problems and won 5.81$, 3 small bets were made:)
