final stages of a real money tornament in a casino. prize money £700 paid to 4 players.

7 players left

chip leader goes all in straight after the blind preflop

everyone folds round to me on the button i have AK

should i call?

the chip leader did the same move with a pair of 5's earlier

in the end i called and they showed 66. they held and i went home empty handed lol. but did i make the correct move?

Did I understand correctly: 4 players get paid while there are 7 of you left? If so, I'd fold AK if there are no other reads on the villain (you don't want to be flipping). Of course, if I was desperately shorstacked in comparison to any other player, this might be a good spot to try doubling up.

That depends on your stack, unless you're shortstacked I think you should fold there. If I understood this correctly the 4 players to survive all get the same prize so you should play it like a satellite or DoN.

yea thats rite only 4 prizes.
i definatly think i made a mistake here. i guess i saw a monster hand and thought i had to call when if they do have a pair its less than 50:50 in my favour
