With a call you signalise that you're on a made hand as there are no draws possible. You allow him to play perfect against you if he is thinking a little bit about your play.

Check/call flop really reveals your hand so I like a check/raise more as well. A check/raise can be done here with a air from time to time as well as he can't call a lot.

Actually turn would be b/c, because on turn the pot would be 6 BB, whoever raises will make it enough for you to call for your 5 outs and if you pick up a FD it is even better.

Unimproved a river is hard to tell as well. The pot would be 10 BB big so a bad fold would be very worse which makes it a crying call again. (Reads may change that. If he is very passive a fold is better, if he is aggressive the call is very easy.)
