"Hi,
I'm a 21 year old guy from Finland, who allegedly played MTT's (5-10$) quite succesfully between 2010-2012. Now I'm quite serious about making a comeback in poker. I'm sure that I would easily beat micro MTT's right now, but I don't have the time to grind 5-8 hour sessions.
That's why I'm trying to play cash games this time. Started with 50€ a week ago and played around 6k hands in NL2. Got up to ~100€ and now I'm playing NL4.
Right now I'm in Turkey on a holiday and when I come back, I'm gonna start writing a blog."
So, that's what I said in my post on the Introduce yourself -forum a week ago. Came back from Turkey couple of days ago. Cool place, but I burned my back the very first day, so that kinda sucked.
Now let's get to the stuff this blog is going to be about; poker. Like I said in my introduction, I'd played some NL2 and NL4 before the vacation. It went well, but I just couldn't play with PokerHeaven's software anymore. It just tilts me way too much. So I moved my roll to PokerStars and started to grind NL5 Zoom. Have been playing for 3 days now, got in 13k hands and made some profit as well.

All hands from all stakes:

One thing I noticed was that there is a BR-challenge going on. I'd be interested to join if I could get the progress I've had this week in it. Start with 50€ and mark this week profits in it. But I don't know if that's possible.
The reason I want to start keeping a blog is simply the fact that I want to get better. Posting hands, results etc. can be really motivating. Right now I have a ton of leaks in my play, and by posting hands and getting opinions from other players is going to help me a lot. Right now my biggest leaks imo are:
1. Tilting
I don't tilt the worst way possible. I don't get mad and just start throwing multiple buy ins away. But when I get angry, I start making bad decisions that on average cost me 1-2 bins before I realize I should prob stop.
2. Riverplays
I think I make a lot of mistakes on the river. The most common is calling too light. And I don't mean like calling 3 streets with a bottom pair. I mean situations where it feels bad to fold but you know you should. I'm getting better at this but it's still a problem. But yea, I have other leaks on my river decision making too.
3. Long sessions
I'm not sure if it's making a huge difference, but I think I've been playing sessions that are just too long. 5 hours without a brake can't mean 5 hours of flawless thinking. I also think that the longer the session goes, it's easier to tilt.
I'm going to give myself some goals, every week or so. I'm going start easy on myself. My goals for this week are:
1. Play 15k hands.
2. Post 3-5 hands here and on the Hand discussion -section.
3. Shorter sessions. At most 2 hrs without a brake.
I think that's enough for the first post. Don't expect much comments, this blog is going to be mostly for myself after all. It's not going to be exciting or entertaining. It's just a tool for me to get better.
See ya!
