DanDule's Bankroll Challenge

Ok guys,

The first game on NL10 didn't go so well, ended up at -$0,66 after 169 hands. There was a bit of nervosity involved since I started this challenge, but I took every hand seriously because stakes are higher than usual and the bankroll minimal. What happened though was that I entered the competition cardmatch, which entitles you to participate in a lottery where one can win up to $1000 and I started it, of course, and won three times. Three times is the maximum number of wins per day, I think. I didn't win $1000 though, only $2, $0.5 twice and $1 once. This makes my result positive for the day. So bankroll after session 1:
$134,39 (+$1,34)!

Can anyone tell me how I can post a picture, I have holdemmanager2 so I could post some graphs and stats, but when I press the picture button a screen pops up asking for an url, but I wan't to post it from my computer. Can I not do that?

Hello again!

I changed my goal from tankroll challenge to playing 100 000 hands before the end of the year at lower limits, but I noticed it would be impossible because I'm a dad and have a job, so I'm back at the tankroll challenge.

So what has happened since 15.10? I will show you in a couple of photos:

So I resumed the tankroll challenge yesterday and played NL10. I ended up with more than $160 so I started with NL25 today, but lost enough for me to drop down in stakes. I altered the stakes a bit to suit me better so i start playing NL16 at 9 buy-ins and move to NL25 at $200. This way I will feel a bit safer.

Shitty day today. Nothing held up and I might have gone a bit on tilt, need to review a bit tomorrow to be certain.

So I started at NL16 which went quite ok for a while but then I got involved in a few pots which I lost and meant that I needed to go down to NL10.
But I don't actually feel so sad because this is a fun challenge. Played for about an hour today. Let's see if I can get some more hands in tomorrow.

Also i notice that four of these hands is when I try to 3bet vs late position raiser. Maybe not bet so easily on the flop with air? Well anyways I did this to just show a few hands from yesterday that didn't go so well.

I played some today also and it went much better. More on that tomorrow.

I found at least the call in the first hand on the river very questionable. Is there anything but a bluff that you beat here? Will KQ raise there? For sure not...

Hello Again!

I Joined the Get Rich or Die Tryin' challenge last week on sunday.
My result for the first week was the following:

Hands: 3288
Result: +$8.13
Start Bankroll: $147.51
Now Bankroll: $155.65
Goal: $1000
Weeks: 1

As you can see I have won $27,16 on holdemmanager but I have unfortunately played some games on my mobile so I don't have all the hands. Need to stop mobile gaming lol.

I have been playing mostly nl 10 and nl 16 zoom, but lately I started trying to play regular 6-max and that's a lot more profitable. Because that's where I found a lot of fish! And I have also been practicing playing according to a new preflop strategy, it's a bit tighter than before, I was kinda LAG before but trying to be more TAG and see where it leads me.

Week 2 of the bankroll challenge!

This week wen't really well in the end. At the beginning of the week I still tried playing NL16 and lost once more so I think I won't do that anymore for a while. I will stick to NL10 and smaller stakes.

On to the results:

I haven't been studying so much this week, I have mostly tried to focus on my preflop game because I have a new chart for open raising, 3betting and 4betting that i'm trying to learn. Also I am trying to use stats more since I'm playing at regular tables. Reading the stats helps me a lot and I think I'm putting them to valuable use.

And thank you SvenBe for replying; You are right, that's exactly what i'm going to do. I have played some NL2 just to have something to do while babysitting after I read your comment. Thank you.

I think your value bet on the river with that AQ is totally standard but agree with you to fold to the river raise.

For studying I bought an ebook that some famous micro stakes player wrote. There's a lot of information about opening pf, 3betting, 4betting, reading stats of other players how to play all the streets vs different players. Over 500 pages of information. And I'm only halfway through that book. I'm working on pf play and reading stats for the moment and it will suffice for now. I also have played back in the day with varying success, so I have some experience from before. One of the most important lessons I have learned at micro stakes is that very seldom does anyone try to bluff you. But already at NL10 it happens more and more. I found it useful to go play standard tables and sit next to fish at NL10. I can't really win vs a regular yet at NL10 imho.

I might hire a coach once I reach $1000, haven't really considered it much yet. How about you? How do you study and learn?

Ah cool, I have read so many books by now I think I am just totally confused!

I have recently got a coach and we have got a package deal going (details are bit private for now). We have had 4 sessions so far and spotted quite a few leaks I can say!

I think for me now I can not go any further without a coach to dissect my bad thought processes and also to show me the best study methods for ME. I am very happy so far but a long way to go!
