Hello guys, this is my 1000th post here on Pokerstrategy so I wanted to post something interesting. And what can be more exciting than a challenge !

My name is George, I am 30 years old i´m from Romania but I live and work in Spain. This means I can only play poker on Spanish online poker rooms because of the laws from this country.
And the only room who has a decent trafic is Pokerstras.es and 888.es .

I will play cash games 6 max on Pokerstars.ES starting with a bankroll of 30 Euro and trying to get to 1000 Euro.

I will start from NL2 grinding and move on the next limit if I reach 100 E.

In the spoiler you will find details about this challenge :

UPDATE

Took me 13 days to beat NL2 and move to NL5. My winrate playing NL2 was 21bb/100.

I didn´t played to much NL5 when I was building the bankroll :

After only 3 weeks I was already starting to play NL10. And here is where I am right now. I will give myself a few months to beat this limit before moving to NL25.

Starting Bankroll = 30 Euro
Updated BR after 8 weeks = 388 Euro

After 9 weeks my Bankroll was 350 Euro and decided to reset the challenge. I got over 300 Euro profit in two months playing from NL2 to NL10.

**************************************************************

I cash out 300 Euro from my previous challenge and restarted the challenge again with 50 Euro.

This time I will play on 888.es starting with NL2 again. I will post updates about my progress here in the first post every week :

Week 1 : On going

Good luck everyone ! :sfishg:

kidzoltan* Thank you man :f_drink:

metalmonkey80* Thank you, i will try to post updates every few days.

1-3 Days

I was very motivated in the first day but things didn´t go my way. I played 1500 hands and lost 2 BI.
Second day i was to tired to play any hand.
And today. Today I had a great day + 4 Bi in 581 hands. :f_love:

I think I can climb faster if I manage to stay away from the zoom tables, but this was always my problem :f_mad:

Bankroll start : 30 euro
Bankroll update : 34.49 Euro

Thank you :f_love:

I decided to join again Get Rich or Die Tryin' - The Bankroll Challenge I have nothing to lose :f_biggrin:

Update : Day 4-5

Nothing special happend yesterday, played almost 850 hands and got 3,69 E
Day 5 tho... I´ve started really bad my grind and lost 2Bi in less than 100 hands then I started to focus more and get back on the right track.

Almost when i wanted to finish my day two fishes goes all-in, both with trash hands...after that hand they both started to argue about who is better and they started a big fight playing almost every pot, raise every hand and go all in 50% of the time.
This fight lasted for 10 minutes...after 10 min I had like 12 Euro on this table and both fishes just run away with no money left :profit:

Bankroll start : 30 euro
Bankroll update : 52.40 Euro

Good luck on your grind.

I think I can climb faster if I manage to stay away from the zoom tables, but this was always my problem :f_mad:

Do you find it is better staying away from zoom? I think I would get too impatient unless playing more tables. But then I would be playing too many tables probably. Currently run 2 zoom tables.

Catonthemat I played a lot of zoom in the past on 4 tables and sometimes I added some normal tables on top of that.
I know that feeling when you sit on 4-6 normal tables and you get impatient and your first instinct is to open another zoom table :f_biggrin:

And yes I think that if I play only normal tables I will build my bankroll much faster and this is my goal with this challenge.

You can see here that you can have a good winrate at zoom also, but on the long run I always have some crazy swings and my bb/100 on zoom is always much lower than normal tables.

Spoiler

A few months ago I played only zoom for half a moth or something like that and this was the result.

Now i´m playing only normal tables and my bb/100 is something like 28bb/100. Of course i dont think I can mantain this winrate but still this is way better than zoom, atleast for me :)

Cheers. Might look at playing some normals and see how it goes.

Best of luck.

Update : Day 6-8

Hello guys. The first week is over. I think I could have done much better but I was lazzy and I only played and haven't studied nothing all week long.

My biggest mistake I think it was the fact that I try to win hands vs the people who grind here for a long time on this limit.
Not everybody is bad at this limit !
My second mistake is that I dont fold enough vs fishes when is obvious I am behind.
The fish can get good hands also !

I played 8805 Hands : Profit 33.31 Euro

Bankroll start : 30 euro
Bankroll update : 65.10 Euro (my Tracker lost some hands I think. Pokerstars show 0.21Euro less than PT4 )

I used the first 100 CoinStars to buy 1 Euro tournament ticket and I played 1 Spin&Go ( I added the profit in my Bankroll update 2 Euro )

Good luck all ! :f_drink:

Running hot !!!

Update : Day 9-10

Hello guys. Today I was reading Aleen86 blog Hit or Quit - Croatian BlogBuster and reading the last update and the IvicaIliev77 post I realized that i´m not even a fish compared with that kind of thinking he has and the atitude for the game.
10 days has passed since i started the challenge and I did 0 study :f_eek: ... Anyway I think now when i´m close to reach a Br for Nl5 I have to start to study the game, I dont think NL5 will be so soft like Nl2.

In the last 2 days I had a nice run: + 4BI yesterday and + 5Bi today. I´m geting close to 100 Euro, my target to start NL5, let´s hope the upswing will continue.

Bankroll start : 30 euro
Bankroll update : 83.78 Euro

Graph updated :

Good luck all ! :f_drink:

Update : Day 11

Another great day for me. When I started this challenge I didnt expected to run so good but I really think that things are going great just because I manged to stay away from Zoom tables.

Graph for today :

Bankroll start : 30 euro
Bankroll update : 95.39 Euro

If i get over 100 Euro I will start to add some NL5 tables soon. But I need to make good table selection to avoid the sharks :f_biggrin:

Good luck all !

nice picture with Learn how to play poker!
Making the plan to learn is easy - actually doing it, that is the challenge.
As you mentioned IvicaIliev77 , maybe you can do it as him - be accountable and post how you keep your promise to learn.
Because it takes motivation and strength to form a habit - once you are in a habbit, it works on its own.

I made a color coding system based on the player types:

And made a simple HUD for cash. I play on my notebook so I cant put to many stats because when i play more than 4 tables things get messy.
If i need some other stats i will look for them in my pop-up.

Hi guys. I think I am done grinding NL2 already. After 13 days of playing got a decent Bankroll for NL5, I will play Nl2 just in case I dont find good tables on the new limit.

I played 18.173 Hands and won 40 BI. My winrate 21.86bb/100. :sfishy:

I´ve coulda done a lot better but sometimes I open way to many tables and go on auto-pilot. I will try not to make the same mistake playing on NL5. :fouet:

I also have to stay way from Zoom tables, I lost a couple of buy-ins on NL2 playing Zoom.

Good luck everyone !
