Hi fishes and sharks,
Actually it was „Professional Hobbyist” who has motivated to restart my blog and restart my challenge.
I am really what the title says: a recreational regular. I spend about 2 hours a day playing poker, reading poker, analyzing my game. On the weekends more.
I play 94.5% NL cash games, 5% MTTs (on the weekends when I can sleep longer), and 0.5% draw and stud (when I am really bored).
My cash game oscillates between NL10 and NL25. Usually when I get to NL25 I become overly confident, and blow my BR or tilt it off, so that I have to go back to NL10. I play 2 tables of Zoom or 4 reg tables. I enjoy taking advantage of people, exploiting them directly much more than grinding population exploits, although I try to do that too.
I have done some work with w34z3l more than a year ago, and also with la55i more recently. Both are great, but I think I lack the commitment (for both) and funds (for w34z3l) to keep doing this. My recent feedback from la55i really helped to put some effort into specific areas.
Apart from occasional tilt, the main issues I have are probably related to the focus on the game. I have quite often “clicking buttons” sessions, especially when I am card dead, where I quietly end up losing 2-3 buy-ins over 1000 hands.
By looking at my stats I can easily tell just by my redline if I was playing my A game (whatever that may be) or my C game.
So idea is to attempt to play my A game every time.
How to achieve this:
- Blog
- Document every single session on playing conditions, environment, distraction, # of tables etc.
- Try to record every session, as if intended for coach.
Let’s go:
Week 0:
Starting bankroll: 144.77 € (at PS)
